5th Gen PRNG Help / Info - Latest: RNG Reporter 9.96.5, PPRNG 1.15.0

what is pid%6, i mean and where do i go for it. i guess its too late for me to use it since i already rngd my thundurus.. but it would be good to know for later abuse or something.

I'm not sure about english terms, but % stands for mod. It should be your PID divided by six.
I've been done the math with the Windows Calc by setting the hex value to 32 bits, imputting it directly and clicking mod 6 =. It's working, I've just found my initial frame.

Does timer0 have any kind of sequence? What would be the next of C77?

You know how you can hit your seed, catch a Pokemon and use the nature, ability, gender and all the other PID info to figure out your "actual starting frame?" Well you can also use the characteristics like often dozes off/mischievous/whatever to help narrow down your actual starting frame. The problem is that the characteristics aren't listed in RNG reporter yet (except for eggs) so you have to figure out the characteristic for each PID frame yourself. The PID%6 method is a way to figure it out yourself. Tesseraction's breeding guide (post 3) explains it.

What is the usual frame range when doing PIDRNG?

Or... do I actually have to search for my Pokémons slot, nature, ability then check the gender, remember the frame number that fits, then generate again, look if the nature above/under match my other RNG'd pokémon with same IVs?

Frame range? The PIDRNG starts between frame 40-60. Click "Calculate initial PID frame" to figure out your theoretical starting PID frame and note that NPCs will advance the PIDRNG thus making your actual starting PID frame a little higher than your theoretical starting PID frame in areas with NPCs.

I'm on a route that is said to have no NPCs bothering (route 9). And yes starts, but where does it end...?

There's no end. You can advance to any frame you want, doesn't matter how high. Obviously you want lower frames though so you're not spending hours RNGing.

EDIT: To clarify. Take your seed, put it into the main window where it says seed (hex), choose method 5 PIDRNG, the encounter type and sync nature if applicable. Generate the list of PIDs and aim for whichever one you want.

The Larvesta egg encounter type is for the Larvesta egg you get from the guy in that house near route 17/18. If you're just breeding a regular Larvesta it would be under the gift encounter type and thus you should search on frame 8 for IVs.

Few things that I found wrong

- If you're breeding, the IV frame starts on 8

- "Larvesta egg frame 2" is in reference to the free larvesta egg you get on route 18

- Your SFF should be about 50~55

Thanks for clarifying that, after I while I finally got a larvesta that looks to be what I wanted.

But I need to find out what frame I AM at. The earliest frame that match my first capture (no saving/chattering) is 6441. However, there are still several of other frames that also matches.

You must have hit the wrong seed. Did you check the IV's? As there is no way you could have gotten that high unless if you were in rain, or you sat there for a few hours.

Today and yesterday while RNGing I've had problems with RNG Reporter. Both times its been in areas with NPC's, so I take RNG Reporter's predicted starting frame and then calculate from there, and both times the new frame had an encounter slot 11 Pokemon. Both times, encounter slot 11 was nowhere to be found on the list, and I had the right IV's so it was the correct frame.

It was more significant the second time. I found a Pokemon in encounter slot 11, Bashful, and saw encounter slot 1, bashful, nearby. I ended up getting my shiny using that. Is there a reason it said 1 instead of 11? Ftr it couldnt have been human error because there were no slot 11's around or before the shiny, and I even checked before the predicted frame.

But the IVs are correct... *confused* =(
Ok, post the seed, target IV frame, target PID frame. Post the species, level, nature, ability, gender and characteristic of the Pokemon you get with 0 advances. Also post if you're using a synchronizer.

Your actual starting frame is near your theoretical starting frame meaning it should be in the 40-60 range as well or maybe a little over 60 but definitely noot 6441.

Seed: 4CFC527C6EA98448
Target IV frame: 1
Target PID: What do you mean?

Pokémon: Pawniard
Level: 34/slot 10
Nature: Naughty
Ability: 0
Gender: Male
Characteristic: Unsure, I'll check it up.

I'm not using synchronizer.

PID frame 46 is what you got. As it's literally right there after your starting PID.

Damn, I see what I did mess up with this time. Before when I was trying to RNG at route 18, I did "Calculate Initial PIDRNG Frame", and got it at 51. I forgot to click it again when I tried with this new seed.

Well, thanks for solving my problem (hopefully). Such a stupid mistake. >_<

Haha, yuppers that'd definitely mess you up.

Good luck!

i watched torterra's vid, but i still cant get what to do. i put in the time of startup, the date, and then sweet scent at victory road. i catch a poke, find its exact iv, type them in, search for a seed, and i cant get one. anything im doing wrong?

When you entered the game from the DS menu, did you press any buttons before the star crashes and forms the words GameFreak?

Did you put in your MAC adress, and which game cart you're using, and make sure you put it in the correct region (I.e. I use White (English) whereas others may use White (North America))

How are you finding the IVs? What Calculator are you using? I know some calculators like the serebii Calculator include dumb things like the median which throws some people off. You want the actual mininum and maximum values not that that median crap in the serebii calculator.

Also other mistakes I've seen are people starting at 00 seconds and not realizing that 0 seconds means you have to wait a full minute before pressing A to start up the game.
