5th Gen PRNG Help / Info - Latest: RNG Reporter 9.96.5, PPRNG 1.15.0

im using serebii calculator. which iv calculator do you suggest?
@winters zombie i have watched bearfan's vids, but i have a mac, not a pc, so im not sure what would be different.

The serebii Calculator is fine. Just ignore the IVs in the boxes that says median. You want to look at where it says "spreads" to find the minimum and maximum IV values.

So you found your parameters? Then search for what you want. Set IV frame 1-6. You can aim for higher IV frames. It just means more walking. You want to choose frame 1 for IVs whenever possible so you don't have to walk at all.
You might also want to choose held keys. More held keys = more seeds search = possibly more results. It seems PPRNG allows you to search several months though so maybe you don't need held keys to get good results. Up to you. You should be able to follow the rest of the video and the guides on this site.
 
ok so when i find my parameters, and the initial seed comes up and lets say the seconds is 35 when i started my game at 30 seconds. when i find my seed, do i boot up 5 seconds before the seed time?

What are your parameters? Cuz that 30 and 35 is rather odd, or was it just an example? O_o

Yes. For the DS and a retail cart the difference between the time you start at and the time the game seeds is usually 1 second though. I'm guessing you just used 5 as an example?

i closed out the parameter after my seed failed. also, when finding the ivs of the sweet scented pokemon, if i put the exact values in i cant find anything. but if i do the range for ex 29-30, it gives me a result. is this right?

no the exact time was 5 seconds. i dont remember the exact time, but the startup was like 18:32:30 and the seed that was shown in parameters was 18:32:35
 
Okay, so I've always been fine with standard wild/legendary encouters for RNG, but am having quite a bit of trouble when it comes to breeding. I've got the following two pokes I want to breed, and would like a flawless Surskit:

Ditto: 31/31/31/31/31/31
Masquerain: 31/x/x/x/31/31

Does masquerain's IV spread matter since I have ditto? Also, I'm using PPRNG. So I search for a flawless IV spread (or any IV spread I want for that matter) in IV frame 8. Then I put the parents into the daycare, switch the time and hit my seed? Is that it. Because I've been getting different IV spreads than I want. Anyone care to help me? Thanks!

Is there a Ditto check mark box, or something similar?
 
Masquerain's IV's matter. As it's possible to inherit some from them. Also, go back to the breeding guide to make sure you've done the basic steps to get a proper egg.

Yes there is a Ditto box, but thats for when I have to change the PID, right?

But couldn't I also advance the PID so Surskit doesn't inherit IVs from Masquerain? Masquerain was transferred to the 5th gen, so I can't really go back and breed it there, I was just lucky with its IVs.

I did just breed a Surskit though, had a 31/x/x/31/31/31 spread, so I know I did something right atleast. Or just got lucky. Unfortunately it wad female, which is of no use to me, so I'll have to try a different seed or something to get a male.
 
INHERITANCE

Ok, I'll spell it out for you. The PIDRNG affects which IVs are passed down from each parent. It also changes gender.

So you need to check your ditto box, and make sure things line up right.

Nope Ditto Box is for IV's.

Found Iv possibilites as

You might have forgotten to set the cartridge and ds type.

i got the same message the first time i set my parameters, i think it's because you have too big a range between too many IVs that it can't find the right seed, i just caught another pokemon with the ranges slightly smaller (higher level) or just rare candy it up a bit, and then enter in its data

eg. 5-7 22-24 and 10-12 are fairly broad ranges for this purpose

but even when i get the exact values, it gives me no result
