5th Gen PRNG Help / Info - Latest: RNG Reporter 9.96.5, PPRNG 1.15.0

So,

I've tried setting my DS parameters three times now, and each time I've not gotten a result.

Possible problems: using a 3DS, using Landorus IVs (there's NPCs in the area, which I understand to be a problem), not sure which time I am supposed to use (The time I select the game from the menu? The time I return to the menu/turn the system off after catching? The time I return to the menu/turn the system off BEFORE catching?).

Anyone have some advice?

1. If you're looking for your parameters, the NPCs are not a problem. Only the IVs matter.
2. The time you select the game from the menu is the time you use.

Thanks, I did another attempt lowering the minimum VCount only and I found this:

Actual seconds: 3 (started at 00, no soft-reset)
VCount: 39 (is that even possible? Seeing as 70 is the minimum by default for DS Lite)
Timer0: 11D1
GxStat: 6
VFrame: 10

If this is the one -and I think it is cause of the 3 second delay - which ones are set? I know Timer0 can be different each time and GxStat is always 6, but how about VCount and VFrame?
Try it again with a different starting time, if you get the same or similar results it's probably correct.

does anyone know if you were to trade someone an rng'd egg, and then the person hatched it, would it hatch and be the exact pokemon, or would it all be random ivs, shininess, etc?

Would be the exact same except shinyness is determined against the hatcher's TID/SID. For this reason one cannot use international parents when RNGing an egg to hatch on another game.

It'll be the same eaxct pokemon except for its shininess, pokemon can only be shiny on one save file unless both files have the same id/sid combination.

I clearly messed up with that previous attempt. I did 4 more attempts and got fairly consistent results:

Timer0: 1061-1063
VCount: 7D-7E (first 3 were all 7D, so I guess that's the one I should go for)
VFrame: 7
Actual seconds: +1 at all 4 attempts

Will do more testing to see if I get more different VCounts and see what Timer0 I get the most. Thanks for the help~

Edit: It worked, thanks again.

Edit 2: I have another question. Hoe exactly does the Shiny Charm work? Does it check for 2 more frames and stop when one is shiny or do you get completely different seeds with 3x more shiny frames than usual? I checked the shiny charm option but couldn't really spot a big difference.

Im having trouble figuring this out... i was trying to find my parameters for my 3ds. I clicked the game at exactly 1:20. I captured kyrum without moving, typed in the IV's and all, but im not to sure what to do with the seconds, vcount, etc. and after i search it doesnt find anything.

For a 3DS there is a delay of 7-8 seconds, so you might have to factor that in. The parameter finder should find you your VCount, and stuff from the information you input.

Are you using a retail game or flashcart? If it's a retail game, then Reporter should handle all the parameter ranges for you when you select your game version and DS type.

If the PID is not shiny it'll check up to 2 more calls for PIDs. It's basically the same idea as the Matroska Method.

Retail game. typed in game type, ds type, ivs, but when i searched it wouldnt find anything.

Try a few more times and if you can't manage to find it extend the Timer0, VCount, and VFrame ranges. And if you still can't find it from there post what IVs you got at what starting times and I'll try to help you from there.
If you manage to get parameters which are not within Reporter's range please do post what they are so I can look into that further.

Once the species/gender has been generated it's a Hidden Hollow encounter type. Set your encounter type in reporter to Hidden Hollow.

6) Advance/verify with Chatots if needed.

I'm having issues following this part. I get information generated, I choose frame 59 and set my max advances to 3 as suggested. How do I figure out from here how many chattots calls I need to advance? Do we need to advance at all, can I just keep it at one, than just do the steps? I have Black 2 on the DS lite, Open Hollows 1 Hollow number 0 slot 0 sub slot empty (going for Giant Chasm Ditto).

I just downloaded RNG Reporter 9.96 Alpha, and am having trouble with the Profile setting. Specifically, my Black Version has a TID of 02391, but the program tries to save and show the ID as 2391. Also, my MAC address for my DS Lite is 00224CF74889, but it cuts out the zeros again and shows it as 224CF74889. Is this a problem, and if so, how do I fix it?
Also frustrating is the fact that an error message shows up every time I try to close the Profile window, and I can't shut it without shutting down the whole program. Is this normal?

Don't worry about the 0's at the beginning, they don't make a difference. As for the error message, I don't know why that's happening, I've never had that problem. Which alpha version are you using?

I'm not sure what you mean. I downloaded the version currently available on Princess of Johto's Entralink PID Abuse guide.

At the top of the main window, it should say "RNG Reporter 9.96 [#smogonwifi alpha X]" where X is the alpha number. Since it's still in alpha, bugs are common, so knowing which build you're using would make it easier to figure out whether it's a problem with Reporter or something on your end.

Also, a screenshot of the error message and/or copying down what it says might be useful to the programmers.
