5th Gen UU Team

This is the first UU team I've made with the new gen, so keep that in mind.

Mesprit @ Red Card
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 168 HP / 56 Atk / 88 Def / 108 SAtk / 88 SDef
Naive Nature (+Spd, -SDef)
- Stealth Rock
- Psychic
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- U-turn

Bit of a different lead, basically set-up the old staple of SR and either U-Turn into whatever is necessary (hence the Atk EVs), or stick around for a bit and at least dent the opponent. Defensive EVS are mainly to ensure that SR gets up, and that she can come back later if necessary. Red Card is to keep an attacking lead from getting too many hits in.

Luxray (M) @ Rechargeable Battery
Trait: Intimidate
EVs: 64 HP / 188 Atk / 24 Def / 112 SAtk / 24 SDef / 96 Spd
Rash Nature (+Atk, -SDef)
- Thunder
- Ice Fang
- Superpower
- Roar

Wallbreaker with a moveset to take on the most common walls, can Phaze if they manage too many Curses/Iron Defenses/etc. The Rechargeable Battery is there to help if the opportunity to take a Poke or two out arises. Bait is below. I tried to keep the EVs balanced so he can be both threatening and somewhat resilient at the same time. Some figures of Luxray vs. some common walls:

Superpower Vs. Neutral Nature, Max HP, 140 Def Snorlax: 71.4% to 84%
+1 Superpower Vs. above Snorlax: 106.5% to 125.6%
Superpower Vs. Neutral Nature, 4 HP, Max Def Chansey w/ Eviolite: 71.7% to 84.4%
Thunder Vs. Beneficial Nature, Max Hp, 140 SDef Mamanbou: 88% to 103.7%

Daikenki (M) @ Expert Belt
Trait: Torrent
EVs: 6 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Modest Nature (+Sp.A, -Atk)
- Surf
- Ice Beam
- Hidden Power [Ground]
- Grass Knot

Bait for Electric moves for Luxray, but mainly the Special Sweeper. Surf is STAB, Ice Beam is for Grass, Flying, and the occasional Dragon, Hidden Power is mainly for coverage and fighting off opposing Electrics who Luxray doesn't threaten, and Grass Knot is to trip up other waters or heavy Ground/Rock-type walls. EVs and nature are maxed so as to provide maximum KO-ing potential. The Expert Belt is very useful due to the great type coverage this moveset bestows, and really helps to net KOs, or at least fair-sized holes, against the common offensive and defensive threats in UU, as seen below:

Surf w/ EB Vs. Neutral Nature, Max Sp. Def, HP Nidoking: 92.9% to 110.1%
Surf w/ EB Vs. Neutral Nature, Max Sp. Def, HP Mamoswine: 90.6% to 107.5%
Ice Beam w/ EB Vs. Neutral Nature, Maxies Xatu: 71% to 83.8%
Ice Beam w/ EB Vs. Beneficial Nature, Maxies Flygon: 109.3% to 129.1%
Grass Knot w/ EB Vs. Beneficial Nature, Maxies Quagsire: 96.2% to 114.5%
Hidden Power w/ EB Vs. Neutral Nature, 4 EVs to HP Kiriizan: 87.1% to 102.9%

Scyther (M) @ Eviolite (Evolution Stone)
Trait: Technician
EVs: 12 Defense / 244 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Swords Dance
- Bug Bite
- Substitute
- Roost

Physical Sweeper of the bunch. Technician is the family staple, and Bug Bite makes good use of that. Basically, Scyther makes a Sub, then SDs and Bug Bites, re-Subbing when necessary. The Eviolite also makes his Subs able to take a few hits, due to the Defense and Special Defense buff.

Spiritomb (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Pressure
EVs: 248 HP / 100 Def / 60 SAtk / 100 SDef
Bold Nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Pain Split
- Dark Pulse
- Substitute
- Will-O-Wisp

SubSplit mixed wall, pretty self-explanatory. Figures vs. the two strongest pokes out of all NU and UU:

Beneficial Nature, Max S.Atk Deoxys-Normal Forme Thunder: 54.4% to 64.3%
Beneficial Nature, Max Atk Rampardos Head Smash: 103.7% to 122.4%

It would take a full-on Head Smash from Rampardos to bring this beast down in one hit. Even then, the recoil would be enough to take him out the following turn.

Registeel @ Lum Berry
Trait: Clear Body
EVs: 212 HP / 80 Atk / 108 Def / 108 SDef
Careful Nature (+SDef, -SAtk)
- Brick Break
- Curse
- Rest
- Toxic

Tank Registeel. Curse and Brick Break bring down most of what Toxic won't wear away, and Rest for healing.

All comments/suggestions are welcome. I have tested this somewhat, but due to the relative shortage of UU players on Pokemon Online, and the complete lack of a 5th gen UU tier on Smogon's server, said testing is very limited.

Daikenki I got from PokeBattleCenter, which I know is based mainly on usage, but it's the closest thing. And, I kinda figured it would be in or at least around UU-NU range from it's stats. The rest are from here.

Please include sprites, as well as maybe a team making process if you want more people to rate this team ^_^
Quiet nature Mesprit? Why does slowing down a lead help anything? Its a good set, and EV spread, but i'd suggest you use naive or hasty.
I haven't used a good luxray because whenever i'm playing in lower tiers i usually use Ampharos (especially with cotton spore or w.e. this generation! :D). Looks pretty good though, especially seeing as it has good coverage.
For Daikenki, that is just far too many EVs :o It'd be good if you had any calc's from poke's that are significant to the set seeing as there are just otherwise too many. Thanks, otherwise looks like a good set!
On Scyther, i recommend you change it. Either to a Evo Stone set + Sub + SD + Bug Bite + Roost. Or changing Aerial Ace to SD because of banned moves like double team and such, so that really isn't important at all. Too strong for a tech boost, and otherwise isn't too powerful stab.
Hmm, spritomb looks pretty good.
I suggest you change superpower to iron head or something of that nature, because with curse and superpower, it really is just counterproductive. Rest + Toxic of course is good though.

Hope this helped! GL! :D

I...don't know why I gave a -Spd Nature to Mesprit. I guess that's what happens when you work on a team at 1 in the morning xP As for the rest, duly noted, I'll go ahead and try to fix em up. Thanks very much for your help :)
