7* Dark Type Incineroar Raids (Sept. 6-8, 13-15)

Looks like I might be grinding this after all. Found a really good solo set from DaniSoloRaids on YouTube:

:iron hands:
Iron Hands @ Razor Claw
Ability: Quark Drive
Tera Type: Fighting
EVs: 252 Atk / 236 Def / 20 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Iron Defense
- Swords Dance
- Focus Energy
- Drain Punch

I'm using a more offensive EV spread than theirs, but this is good enough, honestly.

You idle until Incineroar resets stats, Iron Defense to +6, set up with SD and Focus Energy, Drain Punching in the middle if you need health, then Drain Punch to win. Razor Claw + Focus Energy guarantees you crits, breaking through the Bulk Up boosts. Best part is a +6 Darkest Lariat crit will never OHKO you.

I would say you could use Bulk Up + another move like Electric Terrain instead, but Iron Hands doesn't get Bulk Up :puff:

I tried this with Bulk Up + Taunt Thick Fat Hariyama, and while I managed to win with the same EV spread, I got lucky toward the end where Incineroar didn't use two consecutive DLs, which I discovered would have beaten me. I prefer Brian Hands tbh

I think I'm just gonna stick to Malamar. At the very least I won't have to worry about Taunt thanks to the Mental Herb.

(Edit) Of course, it won't matter in the end if you get hit by an unlucky crit so often. Ugh.

I thought that I would finally need to get a mon builded specifically for Incineroar, I have not done one in months... but I ended up doing it third try with a very competent team. Malamar did the thing, Azumarrill set up rain, my Corviknight did the damage. I don't evem remember the last member of our party but they didn't die which is more than enough.

Which starters ate left by now?

Feraligatr, Torterra, Infernape, & Serperior.

I also still think the Gen 9 starters are on the table, but maybe those will be saved for the end.

Those are...like way less that I expected, time sure flies huh. I wonder how else they are going to extend the life of the game once they are done. Without knowing their types, only Serperior sounds potentially troublesome on paper. I do hope we get the Paldeans as well.

I doubt we are getting shiny raids like the Raidons or Treasures of Ruin, so I wonder if they will just start giving the mark to other groups like Pseudos maybe? The Titans?

I figure the options are:
1. they just stop. They had the theme they set out for, with some randos along the way, and they finished it. Time to pack it up and move on. Maybe they put them all on a loop.
2. They just find some Pokemon that matches a theme they want. Pikachu was for Pokemon day, Mewtwo was a tie in for a Pokemon Presents, Eevee was for Eevee day, Iron Bundle was for Christmas, Dondozo was ostensibly for Summer (but still felt more like a Worlds reference), Dragonite was for Worlds.... These are all meant to tie into specific goings on but they can always just find any excuse and then find some Pokemon they think would be fun to have a raid around. Holidays, seasons, special events, merchandise tie ins, etc etc. The world's their oyster. To an extent we've seen this already with the event Outbreaks, which just kind of do whatever even when not tying into anything specific.

The Pokemon social media accounts (at least twitter and youtube) is promoting the party of Hawlucha/Quaquaval/Annihilape/Heracross for this battle. It's a novel promotion for once even though it's very late in the 7 star raids and only posted for the rerun, but I think this lineup is on par with the one they showed losing to Mewtwo.
