Can someone please explain to me what the purpose of that Trevenant in this giveaway is used for?

I'm looking at its moveset, its ability, its hold item, and I just can't make any sense of it whatsoever. I don't see the logic or strategy.

I think it’s meant to be used together with Smeargle to catch pokemon: you send it out first, use imprison to stop it messing with your strategy, skill swap the ability (Harvest) onto it, bestow a Leppe berry so it can’t run out of pp, and thanks to it’s new ability, it can never run out. I’m not sure what grudge is for, seems a little contradictory. Anyway the purpose is so if you’re trying to catch a Pokémon it won’t struggle itself to death.

This sums it up pretty well, those Pokemon were bred to save me the heartbreak of watching prized shinies faint themselves. Grudge is just a filler move on Trevenant. Soak on Smeargle guarantees that Ghost types can be hit with Super Fang and False Swipe, and Grass types with Spore.
