Hello,
I am a staff member in a Pokemon roleplay discord server which uses Showdown to handle Pokemon battles. I am aware, of course, that this is not the target demographic of Showdown, however, I feel that the IVs automatically trying to re-optimize certain stats (in particular Attack) every time certain updates are made to the Pokemon (such as altering moveset) is really frustrating for anyone using Showdown in a similar capacity (simulating non-optimized, non-competitive pokemon battles), and in fact serves no real purpose for its main target demographic, as it could easily be set to the guessed spread button along with EVs and Nature, and more advanced players who manually set EVs are likely to notice any IVs that aren't where they want them as well. If Showdown quietly updated other things like EVs and Nature in the background as players modify other aspects of their Pokemon, I imagine people would be quite upset about it. Why treat IVs differently?
Hopefully this doesn't fall on deaf ears,
Daimee
