Breloom @ Leftovers
Ability: Effect Spore
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant / Jolly Nature
- Spore
- Focus Punch
- Sky Uppercut
- Mach Punch
Breloom is a huge threat thanks to how good its Fighting-type STAB moves are and its access to Spore. Its Fighting-type moves STAB have great neutral coverage while also hitting top-tier Pokemon like Tyranitar and Blissey super effectively. Spore puts any Pokemon out of commission for the game, which opens up opportunities to more freely use Focus Punch and hit switch-ins like Zapdos, Moltres, and Salamence really hard despite their resistance. These traits alongside its ability to pivot into Rock Slide or Earthquake from boosted Tyranitar and revenge kill it and other faster Pokemon with Mach Punch make Breloom a huge threat to common Toxic Sandstorm teams, as their only really safe method of handling it is Salamence, Moltres, Zapdos, or Gengar, with the first three being easy to wear down with Focus Punch on the switch and sandstorm damage, and Gengar being trapped by Pursuit Tyranitar. Pursuit Tyranitar is Breloom's best partner due to being able to trap and and heavily damage many of Breloom's switch-ins to a degree to the point where they can't safely come in on it anymore. Tyranitar and Breloom also beat Dugtrio together, since Tyranitar can get Dugtrio into range of Mach Punch with Pursuit.
