Whack-a-Mole
[OVERVIEW]
Alolan Dugtrio acts as a capable lure to bulky walls like Jellicent and Tangela with the combination of Substitute and Toxic. Thanks to its high Speed tier and strong offensive typing, it can also threaten out and revenge kill the likes of Togedemaru, Aggron, and Perrserker while hitting most of the tier for at least neutral damage. Alolan Dugtrio can also be an effective wallbreaker with said Speed tier and access to Sucker Punch and Stone Edge, preventing defensive switch-ins and faster threats like Charizard and Vikavolt from taking advantage of it. However, even with Toxic, it still struggles to break through walls like Sandaconda, Ferroseed, and Quagsire, as its Attack is merely decent and its defensive stats are pitiful. While Alolan Dugtrio sports an excellent defensive typing that prevents foes like Rotom and Vikavolt from pivoting with Volt Switch, said bulk results it in struggling to directly switch into anything safely at, as it will take heavy damage from even resisted hits.

[SET]
name: SubTrio
move 1: Substitute
move 2: Toxic
move 3: Earthquake
move 4: Iron Head
item: Leftovers
ability: Tangling Hair
nature: Jolly
evs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]
Toxic allows Alolan Dugtrio to wear down bulky Pokemon like Palossand, Tangela, and Audino, compelling them to use healing or recovery moves faster. Substitute capitalizes on the switches Alolan Dugtrio threatens, such as Aromatisse, Togedemaru, and Aggron, while simultaneously racking up more damage from Toxic. Bulkier team builds looking for a fast Electric and Toxic immunity pair well with it, as it can revenge kill faster threats like Silvally-Fairy and Lanturn with sufficent chip damage. Pivots such as Wishiwashi and Scyther can make it easier to come into the field safely, giving it more opportunities

[SET]
name: Wallbreaker
move 1: Earthquake
move 2: Iron Head
move 3: Toxic
move 4: Sucker Punch / Stone Edge
item: Life Orb / Choice Band
ability: Tangling Hair
nature: Jolly
evs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]
Toxic wears down walls like Jellicent and Quagsire down, causing them to rely on Recover more often. Sucker Punch finishes off Choice Scarf Rotom and +1 Silvally-Ghost with prior damage; Stone Edge OHKOs Charizard and Scyther. This set focuses more on Alolan Dugtrio
