Rain days are the worst
[OVERVIEW]

  • Alolan Marowak establishes itself as powerful and dangerous wallbreaker in the RU tier.
  • Alolan Marowak's great offensive typing and a great attack boosted by Thick Club make it one of the most difficult pokemon to switch in.
  • Alolan Marowak's decent bulk facilitates its job at breaking walls, as it can tank some hits and deal a great amount of damage in return.
  • This mon benefits from a very useful ability in Rock Head which enables it to hit as many Flare Blitz as it wants without taking any recoil damage.
  • Alolan Marowak has an unique typing combination, with Fire-type and Ghost-type attacks, along with its coverage, allowing it to hit all pokemon from the RU tier for, at least, neutral damage.
  • However, Alolan Marowak suffers heavy competiton from other Fire-types. Arcanine benefits from a far surperior speed tier, as well as better coverage and priority moves, Salazzle and Ninetales are also usually better option, with the first one providing a better speed control with Choice Scarf and with both having a breaking ability with Nasty Plot.
  • Its weakness to Stealth Rock and to Knock Off make it much easier to take down due to the damage taken every time it comes in.
  • Its mediocre speed tier make it one of the slowest pokemon in the tier, making it very vulnerable and suscetible to pokemon that are faster than it.

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

  • Flare Blitz is the main and strongest STAB as it deals an amazing amount of damage to almost every mon in the tier.
  • Having such a powerful move even boosted by STAB, make Marowak very difficult to switch-in to.
  • Shadow Bone is Alolan Marowak's Ghost STAB and it is the spammable move of this set since there are only a few viable Ghost resists.
  • Swords Dance makes your attack extremely high since with only +2 its attack get raised to 1092 and with that it can OHKO every Pokemon in RU even the more physically deffensive ones.
  • Low Kick is Alolan Marowak's best option of coverage as it enables to hit its main counter and checks super effectively, like Rhyperior, ensuring an 2HKO, Gigalith, Tyrantrum, Snorlax and Barbaracle, which can be OHKOed after stealth rocks.
Set Details
========

  • Full HP investment allows Alolan Marowak to have a maximum bulk which along with its unique typing make it a good offensive tank.
  • 212 Attack EVs in conjunction with 44 Speed EVs allows it to have its attack as high as possible and at the same time having enough speed to outspeed and cripple non invested base 50 Speed Pokemon like Registeel and Donphan.
  • Thick Club doubles Alolan Marowak's Attack stat, which allows it to hit 546 Attack.
  • Rock Head is the chosen ablity because, this way, it doesn't take recoil damage after using Flare Blitz, helping to keep its longevity during battles.

Usage Tips
========

  • Ensure that there are no hazards on the field when Alolan Marowak comes in due to its lack of recovery and weakness to Stealth Rock. For this reason don't switch it in too much because getting his health low won't make it that useful.
  • Whenever you get a chance, try to take down faster pokemon than Alolan Marowak.
  • Take advantage of its typing to offensively check some Pokemon such as Salazzle, Registeel and Florges.
  • When you start setting up predicting a switch in you need to be sure that this way you can ensure a KO, because this way you won't be wasting a turn for nothing at all.

Team Options
========

  • Grass-types represent a major help as they handle Water-types and Rock-types so pokemon like Shaymin, Roserade and Virizon are good partners.
  • Since Alolan Marowak is weak against one of the most important moves in the game (Knock Off), Fairy-types and Fighting-types like Florges, Pangoro, Machamp and Bewear are very helpful as they deal with and resist Dark-types attacks.
  • Scarfers and naturally faster pokemon like Gardevoir, Noivern, Salazzle and Shaymin can help it with their high speed tier with the purpose to contradict Marowak's tendence to lose against faster pokemon than it.
  • Alolan Marowak benefits a lot from pivoting.
  • Slow pivots like Gligar and Mega Ampharos are helpful for it as they can bring it with U-turn and Volt Switch, respectively, without taking damage from attacks since this Pokemon doesn't want to lose a lot of HP.
  • Fast Pivots like Flygon, Meloetta and Rotom-C can force switch-ins with their offensive power and bring it in on Pokémon it can deal with.
  • Entry hazards aid Alolan Marowak by providing residual damage.
  • With that being said, rockers like Registeel, Mega Steelix and Bronzong and spikes setters such as Golisopod, Mega Glalie and Chesnaught make its job easier.
  • Hazard removers are very important, since one of the things that hold on Alolan Marowak's potential it's its weakness to Stealth Rocks so Mega Blastoise, Gligar and Mandibuzz can deal with this problem.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

  • Substitute can be used instead of Swords Dance. Being able to attack hard while not taking damage and not being paralyzed or toxiced, make taking down faster or bulkier Pokemon easier. Swords Dance is still the best option because having its attack boosted is one of the main factors that make it such a dangerous wallbreaker.
  • Stealth Rocks is a great support move and Alolan Marowak can set it easily due to its good bulk and offensive presence as it can put rocks on the field by forcing switch ins.
  • Knock Off is also a good option, since it gives good neutral damage coverage and the capability of taking items.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Water-Types**: Alolan Marowak has an hard time with Water-Types as it can't come in on them and due to its low speed pokemon like Mega Blastoise, Feraligatr, Barbaracle and Milotic easily take it out.
**Dark-Types**: Drapion and Honchkrow can take Alolan Marowak down by pursuit trapping it. Bulkier Dark-Types like Mandibuzz can use Foul Play to OHKO it after stealth rocks.
**Faster Pokemon**: With its low speed, Alolan Marowak is outsped by most of its counters and checks, so that way almost all pokemon that are faster than it dont have a lot of problem handling it.
**Entry Hazard**: As refered before, its potential in a battle is held off by weakness to Stealth Rock and Spikes, meaning entry hazards wear it down very quickly.

a few things

- change spread to 252 hp / 212 atk / 44 spe to creep uninvested 50s and capitalize on unique typing w max bulk, this is w/ adamant.. update set details accordingly

- unique typing needs a bullet in overview, talk about that

- drop current last bullet in overview, it doesn't really make sense. thick club makes it way more threatening, not "easier to counter", plus you already mention thick club earlier on

- ninetales needs a mention where you talk about other fire-types that are better

- mention both slow and fast pivots in team options, and explain the different benefits of each one

i understand that you're a newer writer so i get it but some (grammar) things must be dealt with, here are some examples

* when referring to mega evolutions, you say Mega (Pokemon Name), so you need to go back and replace where you say M-Blastoise, M-Glalie, or M-anything else with Mega Blastoise, Mega Glalie, and Mega (Pokemon Name).

* it's (Type name)-type. so it would be Dark-type or Water-type not Dark type or Water type, you'll have to fix throughout, sorry

you should look through your writing to fix any confusing wording & skim through the GP standards- https://www.smogon.com/forums/threads/spelling-and-grammar-standards.3588427/

i know just looking at it the sheer length of it is overwhelming, but after you get some of the main changes down writing analyses will come easily!

implement all of the above and i'll be back with a new set and probably some more fixes for a 1/3

hey, moving & locking this for plagiarism, way too similar to the OU Alolan Marowak analysis

examples:

Ensure that there are no hazards on the field when Alolan Marowak comes in due to its lack of recovery and weakness to Stealth Rock.
Ensure that Stealth Rock and Spikes are off of the field whenever possible to avoid wearing Alolan Marowak down
-
When you start setting up predicting a switch in you need to be sure that this way you can ensure a KO, because this way you won't be wasting a turn for nothing at all.
Swords Dance should typically be used on predicted switch-ins, but make sure whatever you predict to come in will be OHKOed by Alolan Marowak after a Swords Dance.
-
Entry Hazard: As refered before, its potential in a battle is held off by weakness to Stealth Rock and Spikes, meaning entry hazards wear it down very quickly.
Entry Hazards: Alolan Marowak is weak to Stealth Rock and is grounded, meaning entry hazards wear it down very quickly.
-
Its weakness to Stealth Rock and to Knock Off make it much easier to take down due to the damage taken every time it comes in.
That said, the fact that Alolan Marowak is both grounded and weak to Stealth Rock means that it gets worn down quickly if it repeatedly switches in and out.
-
Thick Club doubles Alolan Marowak's Attack stat, which allows it to hit 546 Attack.
Thick Club doubles Alolan Marowak's Attack stat, which allows it to hit 568 Attack before a Swords Dance.
-
Take advantage of its typing to offensively check some Pokemon such as Salazzle, Registeel and Florges.
use its resistances to offensively check Pokemon such as Mega Medicham and Magearna.

also these

has substitute and knock off in the same order as the OU analysis, substitute is completely useless in RU

all the stuff that's similar is in the same exact place in his as it is in the ou analysis
