Alolan Persian has a great Speed stat, a good ability, and a solid support movepool, which all lead to its steep rise in PU's current offensive meta. Throughout the game, Alolan Persian can switch into physical hits from Pokemon like Kangaskhan and Kabutops and gain momentum with Parting Shot. Offensively, it can check various top-tier sweepers like Dodrio and Lycanroc while also supporting partner sweepers with Parting Shot to give them opportunities to come in and set up. Furthermore, it can give them second chances late-game with Z-Parting Shot. Because of this, the previously mentioned sweepers as well as others like Lilligant and Omastar make for good teammates. Alolan Persian also goes well with other Pokemon with pivot moves such as Lanturn and Mesprit, forming a VoltTurn core. Lanturn also helps against special attackers, which Alolan Persian does not have a good matchup against due to its low Special Defense and only offensive move being Foul Play.
