XY UU Ambipom here we go!

So I'm quite the beginner in the whole competitive scene. Ive got myself up to around 1400 wich i can't seem to get above. Id like to see some suggestions or changes ^^

Ambipom (F) @ Silk Scarf
Ability: Technician
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Fake Out
- Return
- Knock Off
- Low Kick

So mostly i lead off with my big old pal! Fake Out and Return hits alot and hard. Knocking off Leftovers from opposing walls is great stuff! And Low Kick, yeh, planning to replace that with U-Turn, untill i seem to miss it and change it back again, lol. My team is crap against sticky web, and Ambipom ko's Galvantula with Fake Out followed by a Return. Mega Absol is also an easy pray wich i can kill without him getting damage of on me.

Honchkrow (F) @ Life Orb
Ability: Moxie
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Brave Bird
- Sucker Punch
- Steel Wing
- Superpower

Together with Ambi hes my fav! Sucker Punch (in combination with Moxie) sweeps whole teams when used correctly, had this several times btw. I replaced Roost with Steel Wing cause i had alot of problems with Florges, and it does work for me. Next to the fact that Honchkrow doesnt live alot so Roost is kinda useless. Brave Bird always hits hard, aswell as Superpower.

Shaymin @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Leech Seed
- Seed Flare
- Dazzling Gleam
- Substitute

I try to predict the switch with Sub and then Seed away. I always switch in on Blastoise and Suicune wich before i had alot of problems with. Pretty straight forward, like to use Dazz over Air Slash (i have used it before, but also didnt run any Fairy attack on my team) cause my Noivern runs it. Natural Cure is very nice to predict a Toxic that is incoming, i also use Umbreon for that with Synchronize.

Aggron (M) @ Aggronite
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 16 Def / 240 SpD
Impish Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Iron Head
- Ice Punch
- Earthquake

I can switch in on everything with this beast. People ussualy underestimate this beast and Darmanitan and Flygon are often food for this thing. SR speaks for itself and Iron Head is for stabb. Cause people are underestimating i ussualy seem to kill Infernape with this aswell, an EQ does the job. My team has alot of problems with Infernape, atleast, the physicall one.

Umbreon (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Synchronize
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
- Toxic
- Moonlight
- Protect
- Foul Play

Foul Play hits hard. Further on, you can switch Umbreon in on most special attackers and if needed to Toxic Stall is great aswell! I also like to predict to Burn or Poison to synchronize that. I like to use Moonlight over Wish cause of the easiness of it. Would like to try it sometimes though, cause i always seem to have problems with Florges wich use to wall my team.

Noivern @ Choice Specs
Ability: Infiltrator
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Flamethrower
- U-turn
- Air Slash

I had a Foretress (i hate Suicune and Infernape aswell) weakness and Noivern does the job with Flamethrower, especially when Foretress already lost hes sturdy due of Ambi's Fake Out. So before this i used Chandelure wich got walled quite easy, cause of my skill, it seems viable with trick, but im really pad in predicting the use of that. Obviously nobody likes to switch into a Draco Meteor. Though i think this thing is easy to predict wich forces a switch cause of the specs. I have tried alot in this last spot (special attacker) i have.

I think i miss a spinner, maybe i need more hazards, but most things try make me miss stuff i have instead of that, so tot much to say really. Love to respond on questions, and like i said, im just a beginner.

Cheers

You need three lines of descriptions for each Pokemon, that is how the RMT rules work. You need to further in-depth on why you chose these Pokemon, how well they do on your team, what your team is weak to, etc., for us to give you a full rate.

Hey, I really like this team! I have a few suggestions:
  • Firstly, I would go for Life Orb over Silk Scarf on Ambipom. Life Orb will help you hit as hard as possible, and Silk Scarf only boosts your Fake Out and Return by 10% whereas Life Orb increases your power by 30% (albeit recoil damage).
  • You may want to consider using Double Hit over Return on Ambipom. Double Hit is boosted by Technician, and is generally more effective.
Here's some sample calculations against an Umbreon:
    252 Atk Life Orb Ambipom Return vs. 252 HP / 4 Def Umbreon: 165-196 (41.8 - 49.7%) -- guaranteed 3HKO
    252 Atk Life Orb Technician Ambipom Double Hit (2 hits) vs. 252 HP / 4 Def Umbreon: 172-202 (43.6 - 51.2%) -- approx. 1.2% chance to 2HKO
As you can see, Double Hit is usually going to hit harder with Technician in the end. Return is a great option on Ambi, but Double Hit may serve you better in the end.
  • You can try using Heavy Slam over Iron Head on Aggron for the power, but it's a bit inconsistent so I'd try it out and see how it fits with your team before changing it back to Iron Head.
  • Your team does seem to have issues with Fighting Pokemon, so maybe fitting a Celebi OR Suicune on your team wouldn't be a bad idea. I'm not too sure what you'd want to replace it with, but maybe Noivern, Umbreon, or Shaymin are possible replacements.
    Celebi @ Life Orb
    Ability: Natural Cure
    EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
    Modest Nature
    - Leaf Storm
    - Psychic
    - Ancient Power/Earth Power
    - Recover
This set is meant to hit as hard as possible, with 252+ LO STAB Leaf Storm and Psychic doing wonders. Ancient Power and Earth Power can be used interchangeably, although Ancient Power is preferred for the possible boost. Recover is essential to heal off the damage Celebi takes from LO Recoil and other damage.
    OR
    Suicune @ Leftovers
    EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpA
    Bold Nature
    - Calm Mind
    - Scald
    - Rest
    - Sleep Talk
The generic CroCune set will synergize greatly with your team. CroCune itself is quite self-explanatory, and it should work well at challenging the physical threats to your team.
Good luck on your team! =)

252+ Atk Life Orb Honchkrow Brave Bird vs. 252 HP / 232 Def Florges: 278-329 (77.2 - 91.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery

252+ Atk Life Orb Honchkrow Steel Wing vs. 252 HP / 232 Def Florges: 218-257 (60.5 - 71.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery

as you can see steel wings pretty redundant aside from recoil, but if you run roost its not much of problem, and if you don't care about the recovery id say run pursuit to trap mons who wanna get away and you can get a free boost. Hope i could help :)

also id suggest hurricane over air slash on noivern, the power almost always makes up for the accuracy imo
