[OVERVIEW]

Grass
========
Amoonguss is a great pivot for Grass teams because of Regenerator and its defensive typing providing a Bug neutrality and resistances to check physical attackers like Heracross and Azumarill. Furthermore, its Fighting resistance is great because Grass teams have common Fighting weaknesses like Ferrothorn, Cradily, and Zarude. Its Poison typing absorbs Toxic Spikes, which is useful since Grass teams lack a good entry hazard remover. Its access to Spore cripples opposing Pokemon, giving teammates like Zarude and Rillaboom opportunities to come in. Unfortunately, Amoonguss is forced out by Pokemon carrying super effective coverage such as Hydreigon, Zapdos, and Heatran and special attackers like Nihilego, Spectrier, and Kingdra. Furthermore, Amoonguss easily becomes bait for setup sweepers like Galarian Moltres and Volcarona and hazard setters like Klefki and Mew after it has used Spore on a foe already. Finally, it has a hard time making progress against defensive Grass-types like Ferrothorn and opposing Amoonguss.

[SET COMMENTS]
Spore allows Amoonguss to cripples many Pokemon to give teammates chances to come in. Sludge Bomb synergizes well with Spore, since it targets Pokemon immune to Spore like the Guardian Deities. Foul Play checks physical attackers like Bisharp and Dragapult that could try using it as setup fodder. Heavy-Duty Boots is used to help with durability, since Grass teams don't run entry hazard removal; however, Black Sludge is an alternative.

All of Amoonguss's teammates, especially its offensive teammates in Zarude and Rillaboom, appreciate its Spore to give them opportunities to come in and ability to absorb Toxic Spikes. Amoonguss forms a defensive core alongside Ferrothorn and Cradily, and both notably can check Ice-types like Kyurem and Alolan Ninetales and provide entry hazard support. Ferrothorn's typing allows it to check Psychic-, Dragon-, and Flying-types such as Tapu Lele, Dragapult, and Dragonite. It also has utilities like Thunder Wave, Toxic, and Knock Off to cripple defensive Pokemon like opposing Ferrothorn and Skarmory that Amoonguss relies on teammates to get rid of. Cradily checks special attackers like Zapdos, Volcarona, and Heatran and Substitute users like Hydreigon, Galarian Moltres, and Togekiss with Rock Blast. Whimsicott checks Fighting-, Dragon-, and Dark-types like Guts Heracross, Dragonite, and Mandibuzz along with Substitute users like Galarian Moltres and Kommo-o. Zarude and Rillaboom gets rid of defensive Steel-types like Ferrothorn and Aegislash thanks to their Fighting + Dark coverage. Zarude checks Psychic-types like Latios and Tapu Lele thanks to its Dark typing, while Rillaboom revenge kills threats like Nihilego, Alolan Ninetales, and Mamoswine for Amoonguss. Zarude notably appreciates Amoonguss's ability to check Fairy- and Fighting-types like Tapu Bulu and Buzzwole.

Other Options
=============

Grass
--------
Clear Smog is an option to prevent setup sweepers like Clefable and Tapu Fini from using Amoonguss as setup fodder. Stun Spore slows down fast Pokemon like Latios, Choice Scarf Heatran, and Galarian Zapdos to help offensive teammates like Zarude and Rillaboom revenge kill more easily. A pinch Berry like Occa Berry or Payapa Berry has a use in surviving a Fire- or Psychic-type attack from Cinderace or Tapu Lele, respectively.

Checks and Counters
===================

Grass
--------
**Steel-types**: Many Steel-types like Celesteela, Heatran, and Melmetal take very little damage from Amoonguss and can retaliate with their respective attacks; however, they don't appreciate switching into Spore.

**Dragon types**: Kyurem, Choice Specs Dragapult, and Hydreigon can threaten Amoonguss with powerful special attacks. Kyurem and Hydreigon can notably use Substitute and avoid Amoonguss's Spore.

**Taunt**: Taunt users like Corviknight, Tapu Fini, and Mew can cripple Amoonguss from using status moves. They can also use Amoonguss as setup fodder after using Taunt.

**Electric Terrain and Misty Terrain**: Electric Terrain and Misty Terrain prevent grounded Pokemon like Alolan Raichu and Klefki from being affected by Spore.

**Residual Damage**: If Amoonguss isn't wearing Heavy-Duty Boots, it makes it difficult to switch into physical attackers like Excadrill on Steel and Zarude on opposing Grass, both types which are known for stacking Stealth Rock and Spikes. Will-O-Wisp also factors in longevity when switching into attacks.

[Overview]
- You kinda mention it in the first sentence but i'd mention its Fighting resist specifically Grass has three Fighting-weaks typically with Whimsicott being the only resist, which is why it's so valuable defensively (moreso than Bug neutrality at least)
- Mention how Amoonguss is passive and can be set-up fodder for certain sweepers like Moltres-G, Volcarona, etc (especially after using Spore) and hazard fodder for Klefki, Ferro, etc. which can be problematic because Grass has no removal

[Set Comments]
- Just put your examples in the Sludge Bomb sentence and say something like "Spore allows Amoonguss to cripple most Pokemon. Sludge Bomb can hit Pokemon immune to Spore such as x" the current structure is weird
- Cradily is a better example of a Moltres-G check because it can break Sub with Rock Blast
- Mention how Amoonguss checks Fighting-types in the Ferro / Cradily core
- Mention how Amoonguss can check Fairy- and Fighting-types for Zarude + force mindgames against Lele (neither of them can really check it unfortunately)

[Other Options]
- Giga Drain can be fine over Synthesis if your team doesn't have that much Grass STAB, it also provides some healing

[Checks & Counters]
- For Steels you can add that they can't switch into Spore at least

RMT & Mono Leader
[set & set comments]
- move black sludge to just in the paragraph, heavy-duty boots + regen is always more valuable esp due to the types limited removal
- weavile isn't really checked by rillaboom since ice shard still claps it
- most poison teams have galarian slowking

[oo]
- mew really isn't a setup sweeper and doesn't use offensive sets in ss, remove it
- amoonguss gets koed by all the pokemon you mentioned as stun spore targets, get better examples
- would remove giga drain, doesn't rlly seem like a good oo

chait used cp on mlt and it did pg but i removed it, celebi was referring to the gengar+crobat teams which doesn't use galarian slowking, and amoonguss does gets ohkoed by all of those pokemon but they fear mindlessly switching into it risking a tremendous speed drop and it seems good considering how passive amoonguss gets after its used up its spore
