Dragonite (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Inner Focus
EVs: 252 HP/56 Atk/72 Def/130 SDef
Careful nature (+SDef, -SAtk)
- Roost
- Thunder Wave
- Dragon Claw
- Earthquake
---
Dragonite leading off like this is immune to the Fake Out leads and other flinches, paralyzes offensive leads, and can soak a bit of damage with his bulkiness and resistances with Roost. He can also come back in if there's any problem with me getting Togekiss/Jirachi flinch haxed. It's got decent firepower if I need it too, being able to 2HKO Agility Metagross and Latis respectively with EQ and Dragon Claw. Considering Dragon Rush over Claw for the greater power.
---
Vaporeon (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Water Absorb
EVs: 164 HP/252 Def/94 SAtk
Bold nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Ice Beam
- Haze
- Wish
- Surf
---
Bulky water type, helps out against dragons and stat buffers. Can survive anything Latias throws at it and hit back very hard with Ice Beam. Usually I'll go to Crescelia to paralyze a Lati first so Vaporeon (or Hippowdon/Dragonite) has no trouble with it.
---
Zapdos @ Choice Specs
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 6 HP/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Modest nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Extrasensory
- Heat Wave
- Thunder
- Hidden Power [Grass]
---
Specs Zapdos. I used to run Heatran here (also Specs) but I kept getting shut down by Suicune, so I added this. Thunder over T-Bolt to 2HKO through the CM in a sandstorm, and will survive a CMed Surf from the ones that Roar. If it doesn't Roar Vaporeon can wall it to death. Can 3HKO standard Blissey with Thunder, so Blissey will get killed when it thinks it can survive another hit and Softboiled to heal back up. I'm finding myself walled by Latios though and it is somewhat irksome. I may go with Signal Beam over something.
---
Hippowdon (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 HP/114 Atk/144 Def
Impish nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Stealth Rock
- Slack Off
- Earthquake
- Ice Fang
---
I'm considering running Roar over Slack Off on this, but I need Slack Off as it is a major force in beating physical threats. Often it is coupled with Dragonite and Zapdos to drop Blissey as I have issues with her. Also downs Latios with Ice Fang after Crescelia paralyzes it. Hippo also allows me to smack a Sasher with Dragonite and then switch this in to kill it.
---
Cresselia (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 198 HP/54 Def/100 SAtk/156 SDef
Calm nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Thunder Wave
- Psychic
- Signal Beam
- Rest
---
Went with Rest > Moonlight because of Sandstorm interfering with Moonlight. Crescelia, with its new EV spread, can withstand more hits on the physical side than she could before and thus can avoid being Pursuit killed because of Signal Beam. Signal Beam hits SE on Latis and other Crescelia and often will 3HKO other Crescelia in a sandstorm to rid me of Rest variants.
---
Probopass (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Magnet Pull
EVs: 212 HP/24 Def/100 SAtk/172 SDef
Sassy nature (+SDef, -Spd)
- Gravity
- Earth Power
- Explosion
- Hidden Power [Fire]
---
Probopass is a counter to the now omnipresent Steel type to counter Latis. Steels get owned by Earth Power or HP Fire (if they're part Bug). Gravity pulls down Steels that are immune to Earth Power (Magnet Rise Magnezone, Bronzong). Replaced Thunderbolt with Explosion as I have no need for T-Bolt with Gravity. Explosion can now OHKO Latios since changing Calm for Sassy. After getting paralyzed Scizor is OHKOed by HP Fire now that the EVs have been changed.
---
Overall this team has been working pretty well for me. Knowing when to zap and when to smack is a big thing, and often times with a team like this you may sacrifice something to cripple an enemy major threat. Knowing when to do that is a key to using this team properly. Luck can be a major factor too. I use two paralyzing Pokemon and most of my offensive moves have a secondary effect, so if the RNG is on my side battles immediately become hellish for my foes. If it's not, well paralysis still cuts speed and the attack moves still hurt.
