---:Anabolic:--- UU

-:Anabolic:-

I've been building this team a long time and finally it's started to shine...
Well i haven't get so high on the ladder YET, but im going higher almost everytime i battle...

Team is bulky and hard hitting(everytime their don't miss), they do workouts all the time and when they get in to the heat---> they are hard to stop
---:The Team:---

[pimg]143[/pimg] [pimg]9[/pimg] [pimg]31[/pimg] [pimg]145[/pimg] [pimg]214[/pimg] [pimg]650[/pimg]

When you look at this team, if you notice that it doesn't include the"Biggest" threats in the UU metagame... You're wrong :)
Let me explain how this team is supposed to work, how i play with it and how it fits in the UU metagame.
But First let's check and analyse each important member of this team

[pimg]143[/pimg]
The Bulk (Snorlax)
Ability: Thick Fat
Item: Leftovers
Nature: Carefull
252 Hp/ 252 Sp.Def/ 4 Sped
-Return
-Crunch
-Rest
-Sleep Talk
Why:
So i picked Snorlax because he has great synergy with my team, not only can he help Nidoqueen and Zapdos with those Ice-moves, he can take those Fire and
Psychic moves aim to Heracross. And he's also great mon dealing with Mismagius and Chandelure

EV's and Moveset:
-EV's are for maximize the ability to tank special hits, 4 Spd EV's
are just to outrun other none investment same base speed mons

-Return is for greater power than Body Slam,
although Body Slam got dat 30% i still prefer Return
and my team don't need paralyse support so much that running Body Slam would be necessery

-Crunch is for ghost types(surprise), Snorlax could run Pursuit
over Crunch but i've seen more and more subsplit Chandelures,
they are pain in the Snorlax's butt and Snorlax wants to get rid of them faster

-Rest and Sleep Talk because I'm running Restalk set and with this set Snorlax can take
Sleep powders/Spores and other status moves BUT mainly only the sleep status

[pimg]9[/pimg]
Hard Body (Blastoise)
Ability: Rain Dish
Item: Leftovers
Nature: Bold
252 Hp/ 252 Def/ 4 Sped
-Scald
-Rapid Spin
-Ice Beam
-Roar
Why:
Because there are plenty of Water-types in UU and some of those are physically based(Azumarill, Sharpedo and DD Kingdra),
Blastoise has no hard time countering them and maybe spread some burn on the side. Rapid Spin is also the reason i have Blastoise on my team,
because this team is based pretty much on switching-a-lot strategy, Rapid Spin support is necessary. I've had hard time with
CM Suicune but then i added Blastoise and with his Roar the CM Suicune is no more problemo.

EV's And Moveset
It's all standart set so i don't waste your time telling the obvious things :)
Well i need to say why i run Roar over Dragon Tail, well Substitute Kingdra and other substitute users, those are the reasons.

[pimg]31[/pimg]
The GF (Nidoqueen)
Ability: Sheer Force
Item: Life Orb
Nature: Modest
100 Hp/ 252 Spc.Att/ 156 Sped
-Ice Beam
-Earth Power
-Focus Blast
-Stealth Rock
Why:
Well, fact is that u can't be prepared enough for fighting-types( just kiddin). But the fact is that UU has some very common/strong fighting-types. Nidoqueen works well with Snorlax, Blastoise and Zapdos.
She can totally counter those fighting types who are planning to take out Snorlax and then throw rocks.
This GF works well with Blastoise also, she can take those TBolts and Volt Switches aimed to Blastoise. IMO it's important to counter Volt Switches. Only problem is that Nidoqueen doesn't have no recovery at all, so most of the time first priority is throw rocks and then i save her for her moment, when it comes it's time to rock,
with help of Snorlax and Blastoise (and others) Nidoqueen truly shines in this team

EV's and Moveset:
-EV's are explained in the analyse and i found this share very usefull to my team

-Moveset is made to take down Umbreon/ Gligar core, which i find very annoying...

[pimg]145[/pimg]
Z-z-Zap(Zapdos)
Ability: Pressure
Item: Life Orb
Nature: Modest
180 Hp/ 252 Spc.Att/ 76 Sped
-TBolt
-HP (Ice)
-Roost
-Agility
Why:
Absolutely my favorite set Zapdos can run. When this bird doubles his speed, no one is safe.
Zapdos also have pretty much same counters than Nidoqueen in form of Snorlax and Umbreon. So Queen and Zap
play well together, they lure Snorlax and Umbreon out and i can easily switch to Heracross/mienshao and hit-truck-hard.
Zapdos takes also fighting-type move pretty nicely. Honchkrow, Blastoise, Slowbro's and Crobat are all easy switch in's

EV's and Moveset
Thank you smogon for another great set, everything in this set is standard. Fits my team very well, giving bulk, power and speed.
I gotta say that after agility Zapdos is faster than ScarfMienshao

[pimg]650[/pimg]
Sprinter (Mienshao)
Ability: Reckless
Item: Choice Scarf
Nature: Naive
252 Att/ 4 Spc.Att/ 252 Sped
-Hi Jump Kick
-Stone Edge
-U-turn
-HP (Ice)
Why:
Mienshao is other mon in my team who can challenge Umbreon/Gligar core. Mienshao is also the main sweeper/ scouter in my team. With scarf, reckless and Hi Jump Kick Mienshao turns into fast, F***ing strong physicall sweeper. Mienshao and Heracross forms together great fighthing-type core and that way it's easier to me to destroy those special walls(Snorlax, Umbreon) who are standing in the way of Nidoqueen and Zapdos

EV's and Moveset:
-Hi Jump Kick is so OP if it hits... STAB and boost from Reckless is enough to OHKO most of the tier, and 2OHKOes every one who doesn't resist it
-U-turn for scouting
-Stone Edge for those who think they can switch into Hi Jump Kick (Crobat, Zapdos, Chandelure)
-HP-Ice, oh man i love when opponent switch into Gligar and then Mienshao hits them with HP-Ice, it's 2OHKO on standard Gligar

[pimg]214[/pimg]
HeroBug (Heracross)
Ability: Guts
Item: Leftovers
Nature: Adamant
252 Att/ 148 Sped/ 108 Hp
-Swords Dance
-Megahorn
-Close Combat
-Stone edge
Why:
Heracross, Heracross, Heracross you might not be the most common set there is, but you work for me. This little guy works great with this team, not only does it provide monstrous powers, it actually is kinda bulky with this spread and provide coverage for other members of this team. Wallbreaking this Bug has specialized, absorb Will-O-wisp from Sableye and Toxic from Hitmontop and/or Bronzong and then he can destroy them. Like I said this bug brings even more bulk to this team, can survive hits pretty well and OHKO back. Main Job--> absorb status and destroy something

EV's and Moveset:
Ev's are different from standard sets, Speed is only made to outspeed Defensive Zapdos and obviously everything slower like Xatu, Defensive Roserade...
Attack ev's are to maximize dat power..
With those Hp ev's this bug is capable to take Life Orb Sharpedos Waterfall after rocks and can live Life Orb Raikois Extrasensory after rocks,
so it's easy to Hera to beat lots of threats one on one... Has helped me many times :)
Moves are very simple STAB and then coverage

How this team actually works
Usually i lead with Mienshao, just to scout. Most of the time opponent switches because they dont want to stay in and take that HJK. I get my momentum after U-turn and get free switch, switching is easy for me because my team has good synergy and large number of options to go for. After i have made my decision( if opponent throws in ghost like Chandelure or Mismagius i Choose Snorlax if he/she throws bulky ghost like Dusclops or Cofagricus i need to go to Zapdos or Nidoqueen). Playing is pretty easy, but predictions and knowing the threats is always helpfull. With this teams bulk I find it more easier to switch and I don't need to take too risky move in early game(Raikoi vs. Blastoise I switch to Snorlax so Queen doesn't need to take that HP-Ice early game) Of course you ned to take risky plays and planning even if the team is easy to handle. With this team you need to get some residual damag to all of opponents pokemon and took down the ghosts then you can just sweep with Mienshao or Zapdos... It doesn't always happen, but plan and switch and push your opponent to do some mistakes.. I have also lost with this team so it's not invincible :) (everyone of this team can sweep except Blastoise, just try)

Thank you everyone who made it so far and could read throughout my second RMT. I know it's long but I just wanted to share my thoughts with this team. It could be shorter but what's done it's done...
Thanks everyone in advance!
I will answer questions and I have open mind to change something if you can prove that it works with the team:naughty:

Hey, this is a great team and I only have one thing to say for now.

All of your physical attackers are completely countered by Cofagrigus. Snorlax can't do anything to it, not to mention it's also Pain Split bait. Look at these calcs.

Snorlax Crunch Vs. Defensive Cofagrigus:
0+ Atk Snorlax Crunch vs. 248 HP / 252+ Def Cofagrigus: 78-92 (24.45 - 28.84%) -- possible 5HKO

Snorlax Crunch vs. Offensive trickroom variants:
0+ Atk Snorlax Crunch vs. 248 HP / 8 Def Cofagrigus: 100-118 (31.34 - 36.99%) -- guaranteed 4HKO

Trick room Cofag can pretty much just set up on your Snorlax without much of a problem, especially since you're not going to speed tie due to your slight speed investment EV wise. Once it gets going there's little you can do to stop it.

Thanks for Rate!

Yeah i know that problem, been there many times...
But Nidoqueen and Zapdos can easily take down Cofagrigus.
Snorlax is meant to Mismagius and Chandelure :)

I think offensive Snorlax would be much better for your team:
Snorlax @ Leftovers
Trait: Thick Fat
EVs: 252 Atk / 52 Def / 200 SDef / 4 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Body Slam
- Earthquake
- Fire Punch
- Pursuit
I'm not a fan of RestTalk, it just is too luck based. This set however lets you deal very nicely with offensive Ghosts like Chandelure and Mismagius thanks to Pursuit and Snorlax's large attack.

I don't think Blastoise is neccesary, your team is very not weak to Stealth Rocks and Nidoqueen can absorb Toxic Spikes. Slowbro would be a much better option thanks to it's great typing and ability Regenerator.

Ok a couple of suggestions

-I'd use toxic over ice beam on blastoise unless you have need of ice beam specifically

-Whirlwind (or curse) is probably a better option over crunch as the only real reason you'd use crunch more would be for mismagius which can't do anything to snorlax and seems to get dealt with fairy easily anyway.

-I'd say body slam is much better than return, especially if you aren't heavily invested in attack. With return, most offensive pokes will no longer become hesitant to switch into snorlax, especially figthing tyoes like machamp and mienshao.

-I'd give zapdos more speed because right now it gets outsped by all the base 85 pokes with 252 speed EVs (before an agility boost).

-Give mienshao aerial ace over hp ice to hit and OHKO hercross. Hp ice only hits gligar and still barely only does over half with this set and gives your opponent a free switch into practically anything else.

-Heracross definitely needs more speed investment. As it stands, your heracross isn't likely to get more than one kill before being forced out by even relatively slow offensive pokes like togekiss or chandelure. Also the added bulk won't help heracross out very much as your hp EVs don't allow heracross to take hits even 10% better than he would without the investment, which is rather useless.

-Not really a team suggestion but you might want to consider editing your post. There were a lot of spelling/grammar errors that somewhat distracted me when I went through your RMT and even just spellchecking it would help a lot. Otherwise, thought, I really liked your presentation.

Overall, not a bad team, however, one issue you might want to think about is that your team has no sturdy physical wall. Blastoise can take some hits but has very limited bulk and no reliable recovery and once its gone your team is somewhat left at the mercy of physical threats.

Thank You everyone for rates and suggestions!!

@PTJon7

- I tried BandLax. Great, powerfull and nice set to play with, but it just didn't fit my team (it needs reliable recovery).. Slowbro on the other hand, well i'm just going to say slowbro worked great. So thank you for suggesting Slowbro.

@moose V

-Ice beam was for flygon. And i don't use Blastoise anymore so.. I tried Whirlwind and Body Slam and Snorlax worked better, so i will keep those moves. Mienshao learned aerial ace, gotta say killing Heracross is now easier. Heracross got his speed maximize and has throwed more KO's than before. Sometimes Chandelure uses trick on Snorlax, it cripples Snorlax but opens the door to Hera sweep!! i will pay more attention to my grammar and my spelling when making more RMTs

The new anabolic 0.2 works great. Due the substitute kingdra, i replaced Slowbro with Slowking and Zapdos with Raikou(that has nothing to do with Kingdra).. I've had about 45 battles and only 6 of them are losses(couple times i got sweeped by subDDKingdra, which lead me to use Slowking). Reliable recovery on walls is very handy, i don't have no more the same problem what i had with Blastoise with Slowking

I will update the changes when i have more time, bye

I'm assuming in case he goes up against a rain team. I've seen a bunch of them lately so it isn't really a bad idea.

I can't say I'm a huge fan of the idea, as it is way too situational, but I guess it works when you face one. It's much like running Swift Swim Kingdra in OU, really.

Eh, Rain Dance is pretty uncommon. That little boost of damage however could (sometimes, very rarely) make the difference between something dieing or not.

They're both relatively useless so it isn't really a big deal either way.

As for the changes you made, are you sure you ant raikou over zapdos? This means you have no ground immunity and your only resist is an offensive guy. Also what kind of raikou set are you running?

I like the idea of switching out blastoise for slowking. Only problem with that is it makes your team a little weaker to hazards. For that reason, I'd give mienshao regenerator now over reckless.

@Gennosuke Fujiki

-Rain Dish was more usefull.. Mainly because in rain Kabutobs was problem, so gaining little bit more health each turn was sometimes life saving for Blastoise...

@moose V

-I agree, both abilities Blastoise can run are pretty useless, it's slow for torrent and there's no common rain in UU... I made the switch Raikou>Zapdos, because of speed and power. Team is weak to hazards but i can handle spikers well (Froslass, Roserade, Scolipede and Crustle). What goes for ground type immunity, I haven't had single problem with ground moves yet.. But now when thinking of it, something like Banded Rhyperior and BandPert would give me troubles with their EQs...
I have to consider switching reckless to regenerator, it would give mieshao more time and more switches and spamming HJK would not be so risky, but if i do switch I'd loose some KO's.. So i need to think of that
This is a set i use on raikou:

Timid 252 sp.att/ 252 speed/ 4 sp.def
@Expert belt ( works when bluffing choice)
-Volt Switch
-HP-ice
-Thunderbolt
-Extrasensory
