[OVERVIEW]
Archeops's great offensive typing coupled with a mammoth Attack stat and access to high-Base Power STAB and coverage moves like Head Smash and Outrage paves its way for being a fast powerful attacker. Its base 110 Speed stat lets it outspeed top-tier threats including Mega Charizard X, Mega Charizard Y, non-Choice Scarf Garchomp, Durant, Mega Pinsir, and Speed tie with Jumpluff, and Archeops's power can be further upgraded with Choice Band to OHKO bulky Pokemon like Dragonite, bulky Tapu Lele, and Meloetta. However, its typing leaves it weak to Water, Steel, Rock, Electric, and Ice, all of which are common attacking types, leaving it vulnerable to Mega Gyarados, Golem, Mega Metagross, Magnezone, and Choice Scarf users like Porygon-Z and Tapu Lele. Archeops is also highly reliant on Head Smash for KOing foes, which is unreliable due to its relatively low 80% accuracy and inflicts recoil that can activate Defeatist, costing Archeops its matchup against Chansey. Archeops is also very frail, so if it fails to KO the opposing Pokemon, it's most likely going to lose. This also makes it lose against faster Pokemon like Naganadel and Mega Lopunny as well as every Sturdy Pokemon like Golem, Donphan, Magnezone, and Sawk, all of which are very common.

Moves
========

Head Smash, despite its relatively low accuracy, is a great Rock-type STAB move with a huge 150 Base Power that lets it OHKO Mega Charizard X, Mega Charizard Y, Dragonite through Multiscale, bulky Tapu Lele, and Meloetta. Fly is Archeops's Flying-type STAB move, which allows it to defeat the likes of Mega Heracross, Mega Venusaur, Kommo-o, and Keldeo. Outrage combined with Choice Band lets it OHKO non-Choice Scarf Garchomp and can also be used as a more reliable move to KO non-Choice Scarf Haxorus. Heat Wave KOes Kartana and non-Choice Scarf Genesect reliably. Alternatively, Earthquake can be used to OHKO non-Choice Scarf Terrakion, non-Choice Scarf Excadrill, and Nihilego with ease without relying on Head Smash and also provides Archeops with Rock / Ground coverage, which few Pokemon resist.

Set Details
========

Maximum Attack investment with Choice Band lets Archeops hit as hard as possible, which is required to one-shot bulky Z-Move Tapu Lele, Dragonite through Multiscale, and Meloetta. Maximum Speed investment with a Jolly nature lets it outpace Mega Charizard X, Mega Charizard Y, non-Choice Scarf Garchomp, Mega Pinsir, Durant, and Speed tie with other base 110 Speed Pokemon like Jumpluff and Latios, which can discourage your opponent from sending these Pokemon. Unfortunately, Archeops must use Defeatist, which reduces its attacks to half their power when it has less than half of its maximum HP remaining, costing it its matchup against Chansey after Head Smash recoil.

Usage Tips
========

Archeops is a powerful and fast but frail physical attacker, so it is better to send it against Pokemon that get outsped by and cannot wall it, such Mega Charizard X, Mega Charizard Y, Mega Pinsir, Mega Heracross, and Dragonite. Avoid sending it against faster threats like Greninja and Zeraora, physically defensive walls such as Mega Slowbro and Zygarde-C, and Sturdy Pokemon like Golem and Magnezone, as they would defeat it by tanking its hits and retaliating with their own. Archeops should mostly use Head Smash, as it's the hardest-hitting move it gets, unless the foe resists it and its other moves get super effective coverage. You should avoid using Fly if you predict the foe to be carrying Protect or Substitute, as they can take advantage of the extra turn and avoid taking any damage.

Team Options
========
Archeops gets outsped by some hard-hitters like Choice Specs Greninja, Naganadel, Mega Lopunny, and Choice Scarf users like Garchomp, which can OHKO it. Fast Pokemon like Choice Scarf Porygon-Z can defeat all of these threats; in turn, Archeops can check Dragonite, Meloetta, bulky Mega Heracross, and Primarina, which are able to defeat Porygon-Z. Specially offensive Pokemon like bulky Mega Charizard Y offer support against Mega Gyarados, Greninja, and Mega Slowbro, which threaten Archeops, while Archeops can deal with Pokemon like Mega Charizard X, Dragonite, and Mega Pinsir, which threaten Mega Charizard Y. Similarly, physically bulky Mega Charizard X checks Steel-types like Mega Metagross and Magearna and Mega Lopunny, Magnezone, and Sawk reliably, which can all defeat Archeops, while Archeops helps Mega Charizard X in return by checking bulky Z-Move Tapu Lele, Dragonite, Meloetta, and Primarina. Sturdy Pokemon heavily counter Archeops, so bulky Mega Heracross is a great teammate for Archeops, as it can single-handedly take out most of Archeops's checks including most Sturdy Pokemon like Golem and Sawk, faster threats like Mega Lucario, Greninja, Mega Lopunny, and Choice Scarf Garchomp, and most of the Water-type Pokemon such as Mega Gyarados and Mega Swampert. Archeops in turn helps Mega Heracross by scaring off Mega Charizard X, Mega Charizard Y, Dragonite, Mega Pinsir, and Mega Medicham, which threaten Mega Heracross.

Other Options
=============

Switcheroo can be used over Heat Wave to shut down defensive Pokemon like Chansey and Dusclops and KO them. The same moves mentioned in the Choice Band set along with Hidden Power Ice can be used with Choice Scarf with a Naughty nature allowing Archeops to get past faster threats like Naganadel, Landorus-T, Zeraora, Mega Lopunny, and Choice Scarf Porygon-Z while still defeating Mega Charizard X, Mega Charizard Y, and Dragonite with no bulk investment through Multiscale. However, without Choice Band, it can no longer defeat the likes of Psychium Z Tapu Lele, physically bulky Primarina, and Charm + Synthesis Mega Venusaur. Flynium Z with Sky Attack provides it a devastating 200-Base Power Supersonic Skystrike while Rockium Z + Head Smash becomes a powerful 200 Base Power Continental Crush with perfect accuracy; however, using Z-Crystals over Choice Band reduces the power of its other moves and leaves it devoid of coverage moves, which results in losing of some of the Pokemon which the Choice Band set can defeat. Moreover, Choice Band-boosted Head Smash hits harder than Continental Crush, always OHKOing HP-invested Dragonite through Multiscale while the latter depends on a roll to do so. As Rock Slide has better accuracy than Head Smash, it can be used as a more reliable Rock-type STAB move against Pokemon that can be KOed with it like Mega Pinsir and Victini. However, it should be noted that it doesn't give any additional advantages other than the 30% flinch chance, which can be useful for defeating Pokemon like Crustle and Avalugg that cannot be OHKOed by any of its other moves.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Steel-types**: Steel-type Pokemon like Mega Metagross, Mega Aggron, Aegislash, Magearna, and Mega Mawile are commonly used in the 1v1 metagame, resist both of Archeops's STAB moves, and are bulky enough to tank an Earthquake and retaliate with their super effective Steel-type moves. However, Kartana can be defeated with Heat Wave, and Durant also gets OHKOed by Head Smash.

**Faster Attackers**: Greninja, Zeraora, Mega Lopunny, and Choice Scarf users like Garchomp, Tapu Lele, Victini, and Genesect outpace Archeops and are able to take it out with their attacks. However, all of these Pokemon except for Garchomp can be defeated by Choice Scarf variants.

**Sturdy Pokemon**: Sturdy Pokemon like Golem, Donphan, Sawk, and Magnezone are able to take one hit and OHKO Archeops back with their powerful moves.

**Bulky Pokemon**: Bulky Pokemon like Zygarde-C and Mega Slowbro can easily take Archeops's attacks and defeat it using their respective STAB moves.

**Water-types**: Archeops loses to most Water-type Pokemon such as Mega Gyarados, Greninja, Mega Slowbro, and Mega Swampert. Greninja outspeeds and OHKOes it, while the others are able to take a hit from it and OHKO it with their super effective Water-type STAB moves. However, the Choice Band set has a great chance of defeating defeat Primarina, Tapu Fini, and Mega Blastoise.

[OVERVIEW]

Archeops is a fast powerful physical attacker in the 1v1 metagame. Its great Rock / Flying offensive typing, (AC) coupled with a mammoth of an Attack stat and access to high base powered STAB and coverage moves like Head Smash and Outrage, (AC) paves its way for being a fast powerful fast attacker. It also has a great 110 base Speed stat which lets it outspeed top-tier threats including both Mega Charizard formesMega Charizard X, Mega Charizard Y, Garchomp, Durant, Mega Pinsir, and also a speed tie with Jumpluff. This is desirable for a powerful attacker in order to take the least number hits before using its own. Archeops' offensive strength can be further upgraded with Choice Band and Z-Crystals. Its Speed can be further increased by Choice Scarf in order to defeat faster threats like Naganadel, Greninja, Zeraora, and Mega Lopunny. Archeops also gets a utility move in Switcheroo which can be used with Choice items to cripple defensive stall Pokemon like Chansey and Dusclops by locking them into a move. With these great offensive traits, Archeops stands out as a great check to top-tier threats including both Mega Charizard formesMega Charizard X, Mega Charizard Y, Dragonite, Snorlax, Bulky Tapu Lele and Necrozma. Its Rock / Flying typing leaves it weak to Water-, Steel-, Rock-, Electric-, (Added Hyphens) and Ice- all of which are common attacking types which leaves it vulnerable to Mega Gyarados, Mega Metagross, Magnezone, and Zeraora. (You haven't mentioned an Ice-type, so either mention one, or remove the "Ice-" completely) Archeops is also very frail due to its low defenses, (AC) meaning it cannot take hits so if it fails to KO the opposing Pokemon, then it's most likely going to lose due to its inability to tank moves. Its ability, Defeatist doesn't help it as it halves its Attacking stats when it reaches 50% HP or below but it doesn't affect the result of most of its matchups in 1v1. Archeops loses to every Sturdy Pokemon like Golem, Donphan, Magnezone, and Sawk all of which are very prevalentused in the metagame.

Head Smash, albeit with relatively low accuracy, is a great Rock-type STAB move with a huge 150 Base Power which lets it OHKO both Mega Charizard formesMega Charizard X, Mega Charizard Y, Dragonite through Multiscale, Snorlax, Bulky Tapu Lele, Meloetta, and other such Pokemon. Its recoil effect hardly matters in 1v1, but given its unfortunate ability and low bulk, Archeops heavily relies it to one shot the foe. Fly is its Flying-type STAB which cloaks it on the first turn and strikes on the the second allowing it to defeat the likes of Mega Heracross, Mega Blaziken with predictions, Mega Venusaur, (Kommo-o, maybe?) and Keldeo. (Add a line about the usage of Heat Wave). As Rock Slide has better accuracy than Head Smash, it can be used as a more reliable Rock-type STAB against Pokemon that can be KOed with it like Mega Pinsir and Victini. It also comes with a 30% flinch chance which can be useful for defeating Pokemon like Mimikyu, Crustle, Avalugg, and Carracosta that cannot be OHKOed by any of its other moves. Outrage combined with Choice Band lets it OHKO Non-Choice Scarf Garchomp (Mention one other example like Haxorus or Modest Naganadel) . It can be also used as the more reliable move to KO Latios. Switcheroo can be used to choice-lock defensive Pokemon like Chansey and Dusclops which allows Archeops to then KO these. Alternatively, Earthquake can be used to OHKO Terrakion, Stakataka, and Nihilego with ease (without relying on Head Smash for defeating Nihilego) and also provides it with Rock / Ground coverage, which few Pokemon resist.

Archeops is locked into Defeatist which doesn't help Archeops.

Usage Tips
=======

Archeops is a powerful fast but frail physical attacker so its good to send it against Pokemon that get outsped by and cannot wall it such both Mega Charizard formes,Mega Charizard X, Mega Charizard Y, Mega Pinsir, Mega Heracross, and Mega Blaziken. Avoid sending it against faster threats like Greninja and Zeraora, physically defensive walls such as Mega Slowbro, Zygarde-C and Sturdy Pokemon like Golem and Magnezone as they would always defeat it. Since Archeops is choice-locked, it's important to pick the appropriate move, Archeops should mostly use Head Smash as it's the hardest-hitting move it gets barring if the foe resists it and its other moves get super effective coverage. Use Rock Slide in place of Head Smash against Pokemon that can be KOed with it like Mega Pinsir, Victini, Volcarona, and Alolan Marowak as it has more accuracy. However, against CharizardMega Charizard X, Mega Charizard Y, Archeops should always use Head Smash for the first time as it may be the bulky Mega Charizard X variant which can take a Rock Slide. You may use instead pick Rock Slide if you are aware that the opposing Charizard variant isopponent has a Mega Charizard Y or non-fully bulky Mega Charizard X.

Team Option
=======

Archeops gets outsped by some hard-hitters like Greninja, Naganadel, Mega Lopunny, Zeraora and Scarf users like Garchomp which can easily one shot it. Choice Scarf Porygon-Z can defeat all of these threats, hence it is a great partner for Archeops. In turn, Archeops can eliminate Dragonite, Meloetta, Bulky Mega Heracross, and Primarina which are able to defeat Porygon-Z. Either of the bulk invested Mega Charizard variants pair up well with Archeops as both of them can check Steel-type Pokemon. Bulky Mega Charizard Y equipped with Flame Charge offers support against Mega Gyarados, Greninja, Mega Slowbro, and Mimikyu while Archeops can deal with Mega Charizard X, Dragonite, Chansey, and Heatran which threaten Mega Charizard Y. Semi Bbulky Mega Charizard X checks Mega Metagross more reliably, Mega Lopunny, Mimikyu, Magnezone, Sawk, and Donphan which can defeat Archeops, (AC) while the Pokemon in questionArcheops helps Mega Charizard X by checking Psychium Z Tapu Lele, Dragonite, Meloetta, and Primarina. The combination of Mega Charizard X and Archeops remains vulnerable to most Water- and Ground-type Pokemon such as Mega Gyarados and Greninja which can be covered by pairing up Mega Venusaur. (You don't build teams in Team Options; you usually just suggest teammates options for the reader to choose, so maybe rewrite that line) Bulky Mega Heracross is a great teammate for Archeops as it can single-handedly take out most of Archeops' checks including most Sturdy Pokemon like Golem and Sawk, faster threats like Mega Lucario, Greninja, Mega Lopunny, Choice Scarf Garchomp and most of the Water-type Pokemon such as Mega Gyarados and Mega Swampert. Archeops in turn helps Mega Heracross by scaring offcountering both Mega Charizard formes, Dragonite, Mega Pinsir, and Mega Medicham which threaten Mega Heracross. Fairium Z Primarina can deal with Zygarde-C, Greninja, Mega Lopunny, and all Sturdy Pokemon except Magnezone, turning out to be a great team option for Archeops. (Mention what Archeops does in return)

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=======

Heat Wave can replace one of the moves in the last two slots and without any additional changes it can be used to KO Kartana as well as Genesect reliably. (This needs a mention in the main set, as it is the 4th most used move on it) It also comes with a 10% burn chance which, (AC) if Archeops succeeds in getting, it can defeat Ferrothorn as well. Aerial Ace can be used over Fly to avoid taking two turns in executing the move but its damage output is weaker, missing the KO against Mega Venusaur. The same moves mentioned in the Choice Band set can be used with Choice Scarf along with an Adamant nature allowing Archeops to get past faster threats like Naganadel, Greninja, Zeraora, Mega Lopunny, Scarf Porygon-Z, Scarf Tapu Lele, and sets while retaining its most of its power of defeating both Mega Charizard formes and non bulk invested Dragonite through Multiscale. However, with the loss of power it can no longer defeat the likes of Psychium Z Tapu Lele, Bulk invested physically defensive Primarina, and Mega Venusaur with Charm and Synthesis. Archeops can also make use of Z-Moves for attacking. Flyinium Z with Sky Attack provides it a devastating 200 Base Power Supersonic Skytrike, (AC) while Rockium Z Head Smash it gets a powerful 200 Base Power Continental Crush. The Z-Moves can be used with Substitute and Hone Claws to make these attacks hit with full potential. But using Z-Moves over Choice Band reduces the power of its other moves and leaves it devoid of coverage moves which results in losing of some of the Pokemon which the Choice Band set can defeat. Moreover, Choice Band Head Smash hits harder than Continental Crush unless Archeops gets a chance to setup Hone Claws which is pretty tough for a frail Pokemon like it, the former always one shots HP invested Dragonite through Multiscale but the latter depends on a roll to do the same.

Checks and Counters
=======

Steel-types: Steel-type Pokemon like Mega Metagross, Mega Aggron, Aegislash, Magearna, and Mega Mawile are commonly used in the 1v1 metagame which resist both of its STAB moves and are bulky enough to tank an Earthquake and retaliate with their super effective Steel-type moves.

Faster Attackers: Mega Lucario, Greninja, Zeraora, Mega Lopunny, and Scarf users like Garchomp, Tapu Lele, Victini, and Genesect outpace Archeops and are able to take it out with their attacks. However, all of these Pokemon except for Garchomp can be defeated by the Choice Scarf variant of Archeops.

Pokemon that can survive one hit: Provided Archeops' low defenses, most of the Pokemon that can take one hit from it such as Mimikyu, Zygarde-C, Landorus-T, and Mega Slowbro can defeat it either by wearing it out or KOing it with its moves. Every Sturdy Pokemon like Golem, Donphan, Magnezone, and Sawk defeat Archeops as they can take one hit from it and KO back with their powerful moves.

Water-types: Excluding Primarina, Tapu Fini, and Mega Blastoise which Archeops is able to beat depending on the set these Pokemon are using; Archeops loses to every Water-type Pokemon such as Mega Gyarados, Greninja, Mega Slowbro, and Mega Swampert. As Greninja outspeeds and OHKOes it while the others are able to take a hit from it and one shot it with their super effective Water-type STAB move.

Really great analysis! Just one change I'd like to see. When referencing the Scarf set in OO, swap out "Adamant" for "Naughty" and note that Heat Wave and HP Ice are good coverage options for it.

It also has a great 110 base Speed stat which lets it outspeed top-tier threats including Mega Charizard X, Mega Charizard Y, Garchomp, Durant, Mega Pinsir, and speed tie with Jumpluff. Archeops' offensive strength can be further upgraded with Choice Band and Z-Crystals. (z sets are in oo and overviews should only mention options on the set / moves mentions) Its Speed can be further increased by Choice Scarf in order to defeat faster threats like Naganadel, Greninja, Zeraora, and Mega Lopunny. (scarf is also oo so remove this line) Archeops also gets a utility move in Switcheroo which can be used with Choice items to cripple defensive stall Pokemon like Chansey and Dusclops by locking them into a move. (that feels far more like a moves description than something that fits in a general overview. it’s not even on the set anyway and doesn’t fit with this section’s description of its offensive prowess so i’d remove) With these great offensive traits, Archeops stands out as a great check to top-tier threats including Mega Charizard X, Mega Charizard Y, Dragonite, Snorlax, Bulky Tapu Lele and Necrozma. (you already talk about its typing and speed with examples above so the line is basically filler and would be fine to cut. if you don’t cut it, remove snorlax and word it to sound less like “archeops is good because it beats x mon” because that doesn’t offer much explanation) Its typing leaves it weak to Water, Steel, Rock, Electric, and Ice all of which are common attacking types which leaves it vulnerable to Mega Gyarados, Mega Metagross, Magnezone, Zeraora, and Porygon-Z. (you don’t mention anything with rock-type moves. also, you only actually lose to scarf porygon-z because you’re faster than conversion sets. i’d clarify that) Archeops is also very frail due to its low defenses meaning it cannot take hits so if it fails to KO the opposing Pokemon, then it's most likely going to lose due to its inability to tank moves. (that’s a lot of extremely redundant info “it can’t take hits so it’ll lose because it can’t take hits.” instead talk about pokemon that its frailty means it can’t take on) Its ability, Defeatist doesn't help it as it halves its Attacking stats when it reaches 50% HP or below but it doesn't affect the result of most of its matchups in 1v1. (it doesn’t affect matchups so you don’t need to actually mention it in the overview. overview lays out general positives/negatives of a pokemon and this is neither here) Archeops loses to every Sturdy Pokemon like Golem, Donphan, Magnezone, and Sawk all of which are very common.

Head Smash, albeit with relatively low accuracy, is a great Rock-type STAB move with a huge 150 Base Power which lets it OHKO Mega Charizard X, Mega Charizard Y, Dragonite through Multiscale, Snorlax (banned), Bulky Tapu Lele, Meloetta, and other such Pokemon. (more of a gp comment but phrases like “other such pokemon” “and many more” etc are just filler and not needed) Fly is its Flying-type STAB which cloaks it on the first turn and strikes on the the second allowing it to defeat the likes of Mega Heracross, Mega Blaziken with predictions, Mega Venusaur, Kommo-o, and Keldeo. (you don’t actually touch on the fact you’re hard walled by protect apart from the mega blaziken with prediction part (which should 100% be explained more because it’s not clear to the main analysis audience) well as some sub users like zygarde too. you also should mention how since fly is a 2 turn attack, you get one move off every 2 turns when locked in which can generate a ton of setup opportunities for other mons) As Rock Slide has better accuracy than Head Smash, it can be used as a more reliable Rock-type STAB against Pokemon that can be KOed with it like Mega Pinsir and Victini. It also comes with a 30% flinch chance which can be useful for defeating Pokemon like Mimikyu, Crustle, Avalugg, and Carracosta that cannot be OHKOed by any of its other moves. (you say in the overview that arch loses to //every// sturdy user but then giving 3 as examples of what rock slide can beat just contradicts that point. they do have different roles than the ones mentioned in the overview but i’d choose other examples here bc arch really can’t win the mu against any of these mons at all) Outrage combined with Choice Band lets it OHKO Non-Choice Scarf Garchomp and Haxorus. It can be also used as the more reliable move to KO Latios. Heat Wave can replace one of the moves in the last two slots (heat wave is the first slash on move 4 meaning it doesn’t replace eq as move 4 it is the main move 4) and without any additional changes it can be used to KO Kartana as well as Genesect reliably. It also comes with a 10% burn chance which if Archeops succeeds in getting, it can defeat Ferrothorn as well. Alternatively, Earthquake can be used to OHKO Terrakion, Stakataka, and Nihilego, without relying on Head Smash, with ease and also provides it with Rock / Ground coverage, which few Pokemon resist.

Set Details

Maximum Attack investment with Choice Band lets it hit as hard as possible which is required to one shot Psychium Z Tapu Lele, Dragonite through Multiscale, and Heatran. Maximum Speed investment with a Jolly nature lets it outpace both Mega Charizard fomes, Non-Choice Scarf Garchomp, Mega Pinsir, Durant, and Speed tie with other base 110 Speed Pokemon like Jumpluff, and Latios. (ability is useless but it should be mentioned in set details nevertheless)

Usage Tips
========

Archeops is a powerful fast but frail physical attacker so its good to send it against Pokemon that get outsped by and cannot wall it such Mega Charizard X, Mega Charizard Y, Mega Pinsir, Mega Heracross, and Mega Blaziken. (note mega blaziken will have protect so it’s kinda a 50/50 between head smash and fly w protect) Avoid sending it against faster threats like Greninja and Zeraora, physically defensive walls such as Mega Slowbro, Zygarde-C and Sturdy Pokemon like Golem and Magnezone as they would always defeat it. Archeops should mostly use Head Smash as it's the hardest-hitting move it gets barring if the foe resists it and its other moves get super effective coverage. Use Rock Slide in place of Head Smash against Pokemon that can be KOed with it like Mega Pinsir, Victini, Volcarona, and Alolan Marowak as it has more accuracy. (you start by saying “always use head smash unless it’s a resist” then go on to contradict that. you could reword to say “use head smash on most neutral or super effective targets unless they are ohkoed by rock slide such as victini....) However, against Charizard Archeops should always use Head Smash for the first time as it may be the bulky Mega Charizard X variant which can take a Rock Slide. You may use instead pick Rock Slide if you are aware that the opposing Charizard variant is Mega Charizard Y or non-fully bulky Mega Charizard X. (talk about using other moves (esp fly because it’s so prediction reliant and volatile due to sheer number of sub/protect users) here too)

Archeops gets outsped by some hard-hitters like Greninja, Naganadel, Mega Lopunny, and Scarf users like Garchomp which can easily one shot it. Choice Scarf Porygon-Z can defeat all of these threats, hence it is a great partner for Archeops. Semi bulky Mega Charizard X checks Mega Metagross more reliably, Mega Lopunny, Mimikyu, Magnezone, Sawk, and Donphan which can defeat Archeops while the Pokemon in question helps Mega Charizard X by checking Psychium Z Tapu Lele, Dragonite, Meloetta, and Primarina. Bulky Mega Heracross is a great teammate for Archeops as it can single-handedly take out most of Archeops' checks including most Sturdy Pokemon like Golem and Sawk, faster threats like Mega Lucario, Greninja, Mega Lopunny, Choice Scarf Garchomp and most of the Water-type Pokemon such as Mega Gyarados and Mega Swampert. Archeops in turn helps Mega Heracross by scaring off Mega Charizard X, Mega Charizard Y Dragonite, Mega Pinsir, and Mega Medicham which threaten Mega Heracross. Fairium Z Primarina can deal with Zygarde-C, Greninja, Mega Lopunny, and all Sturdy Pokemon except Magnezone, turning out to be a great team option for Archeops. (this section is /technically/ fine but the best way to do team options is to focus on a role more than a specific pokemon/type as a teammate. instead of saying “porygon-z makes a good parter because it outspeeds xyz” you can focus more on “faster pokemon like porygon-z that outspeed xyz make good partners.” a few examples of specific mons are fine (mhera is good but even then you can give other examples of mons that do well vs sturdy) but generalisations with examples are better so you’re not just suggesting five pokemon that are good teammates)

Switcheroo can be used over Heat Wave to choice-lock defensive Pokemon like Chansey and Dusclops which allows Archeops to then KO these. (this is because it locks them into one move so they lose access to recovery) Aerial Ace can be used over Fly to avoid taking two turns in executing the move but its damage output is weaker, missing the KO against Mega Venusaur. The same moves mentioned in the Choice Band set along with Hidden Power Ice can be used with Choice Scarf with a Naughty nature allowing Archeops to get past faster threats like Naganadel, Landorus-T, Zeraora, Mega Lopunny, and Choice Scarf Porygon-Z while retaining most of its power of defeating Mega Charizard X, Mega Charizard Y, and non bulk invested Dragonite through Multiscale. However, with the Choice Band, it can no longer defeat the likes of Psychium Z Tapu Lele, physically bulky Primarina, and Mega Venusaur with Charm and Synthesis. Archeops can also make use of Z-Moves for attacking. Flynium Z with Sky Attack provides it a devastating 200 Base Power Supersonic Skytrike while Rockium Z Head Smash it gets a powerful 200 Base Power Continental Crush.

===================
(unbold those headers; the ** is the markup that bolds it on site)
**Steel-types**:
Steel-type Pokemon like Mega Metagross, Mega Aggron, Aegislash, Magearna, and Mega Mawile are commonly used in the 1v1 metagame which resist both of its STAB moves and are bulky enough to tank an Earthquake and retaliate with their super effective Steel-type moves. (you can mention kartana/genesect/durant here too and say they hate heat wave)

**Faster Attackers**: Mega Lucario, Greninja, Zeraora, Mega Lopunny, and Scarf users like Garchomp, Tapu Lele, Victini, and Genesect outpace Archeops and are able to take it out with their attacks. However, all of these Pokemon except for Garchomp can be defeated by the Choice Scarf variant of Archeops.

**Pokemon that can survive one hit**: Provided Archeops' low defenses, most of the Pokemon that can take one hit from it such as Mimikyu, Zygarde-C, Landorus-T, and Mega Slowbro can defeat it either by wearing it out or KOing it with its moves. Every Sturdy Pokemon like Golem, Donphan, Magnezone, and Sawk defeat Archeops as they can take one hit from it and KO back with their powerful moves.

**Water-types**: Excluding Primarina, Tapu Fini, and Mega Blastoise which Archeops is able to beat depending on the set these Pokemon are using; Archeops loses to every Water-type Pokemon such as Mega Gyarados, Greninja, Mega Slowbro, and Mega Swampert. As Greninja outspeeds and OHKOes it while the others are able to take a hit from it and one shot it with their super effective Water-type STAB. (you can reword this and get rid of the first sentence because it’s really not needed by just saying “archeops loses to most water-types” and you can end this with something like “however, certain sets can beat primarina, tapu fini, and mega blastoise” if you want to keep them. this means the ones it loses to are now the main focus of the point)

i spam the shit outta this mon sooo i'll go ahead and check this
overview:
".Its typing leaves it weak to Water, Steel, Rock, Electric, and Ice all of which are common attacking types which leaves it vulnerable to Mega Gyarados, Golem, Mega Metagross, Magnezone, Zeraora, and Choice Scarf Porygon-Z" is rly the only thing i have problems with. turn this into "Its typing and movepool leaves it weak to types like Water, Steel, and Rock, all of which are common attacking types in 1v1".
- oh also mention how it gets owned by scarfers, especially surprise ones like tapu lele
- mention its awful ability too
- oh and overreliance on head smash, a low accish move
moves:
- mention venusaur kommo & hera first then blaziken with prediction
- remove ferrothorn burn thing completely
set details:
- turn psychium into bulky on lele,
- go into WAY greater depth on the ability, how it can't spam head smash, how it needs to watch its health, that type of thing.

usage tips:
- blaziken doesn't rly, uh, not protect, ever, the first time anyw. mention how you can get them the first time.

team options:
on the zard x part mention "steels such as mega metagross" as archeops doesnt beat many steels

oo:
- mention accuracy with rockium, and remove the hone claws shit

cc:
- the living one hit section is pretty dumb. split it into ground types
- add mimikyu specifically. if it gets banned remove it xd

charizard8888 implement this if yogi says its ok

[OVERVIEW]
Archeops' great offensive typing coupled with a mammoth Attack stat and access to high base powered STAB and coverage moves like Head Smash and Outrage paves its way for being a fast powerful attacker. Its base 110 Speed stat lets it outspeed top-tier threats including Mega Charizard X, Mega Charizard Y, Garchomp, choice scarf garch still exists (18% usage) xd I would remove or specify something like "non scarf garchomp" Durant, Mega Pinsir, and speed tie with Jumpluff. Archeops' offensive strength can be further upgraded with Choice Band to OHKO bulky Pokemon like Dragonite, Necrozma definitely not always true, Bold:200/0/252/56/0/0 11.802%, if they are specs they kill u back, if they are stall they get in berry range and win, bulky Tapu Lele, and Meloetta. Its typing leaves it weak to Water, Steel, Rock, Electric, and Ice all of which are common attacking types which leaves it vulnerable to Mega Gyarados, Golem, Mega Metagross, Magnezone, and Choice Scarf users like Porygon-Z and Tapu Lele. It is highly reliant on Head Smash for KOing foes which has a relatively low 80% accuracy which could backfire. Archeops is also very frail due to its low defenses meaning it cannot take hits so if it fails to KO the opposing Pokemon, then it's most likely going to lose due to its inability to tank hits from Pokemon like Mimikyu and Mega Lopunny. and due to the same reason, Archeops loses to every Sturdy Pokemon like Golem, Donphan, Magnezone, and Sawk all of which are very common. Mention somewhere that alongside this, Head Smash will usually activate Defeatist if it cannot immediately kill thanks to recoil

Moves
========

Head Smash, albeit with relatively low accuracy, is a great Rock-type STAB move with a huge 150 Base Power which lets it OHKO Mega Charizard X, Mega Charizard Y, Dragonite through Multiscale, Bulky Tapu Lele, and Meloetta. Fly is its Flying-type STAB which cloaks it on the first turn and strikes on the the second allowing it to defeat the likes of Mega Heracross, Mega Venusaur, Kommo-o, Keldeo, and Mega Blaziken with predictions That still means you lose some of the time, I would avoid nonguaranteed MU examples. However, Pokemon with Protect or Substitute such as Mimikyu can take advantage of the extra turn and avoid taking any damage. As Rock Slide has better accuracy than Head Smash, it can be used as a more reliable Rock-type STAB against Pokemon that can be KOed with it like Mega Pinsir and Victini. Shouldn't this be slashed over Head Smash instead of Outrage then? If Head Smash is required, consider putting Rock Slide as an OO, as the only thing it gives consistently is greater accuracy. It also comes with a 30% flinch chance which can be useful for defeating Pokemon like Mimikyu, Crustle, Avalugg, and Carracosta Carracosta Aqua Jets Twice and wins that cannot be OHKOed by any of its other moves. Reword this to clarify that Rock Slide does not make any of these a winning matchup, and that this should only be resorted to if you don't predict correctly. Outrage combined with Choice Band lets it OHKO Non-Choice Scarf Garchomp and Haxorus. It can be also used as the more reliable move to KO Latios. Even then Latios is a 50/50, don't use it as an example as a winning archeops matchup. Heat Wave can be used to KO Kartana and Choice Scarf Genesect reliably. Alternatively, Earthquake can be used to OHKO Rockium Z Terrakion (most Terrakions run scarf), Stakataka, and Nihilego, without relying on Head Smash, with ease and also provides it with Rock / Ground coverage, which few Pokemon resist.

Set Details

Maximum Attack investment with Choice Band lets it hit as hard as possible which is required to one shot bulky Z Tapu Lele, Dragonite through Multiscale, and Heatran 252 Atk Choice Band Archeops Head Smash vs. 240 HP / 0 Def Heatran: 369-435 (96.3 - 113.5%) -- 75% chance to OHKO. Maximum Speed investment with a Jolly nature lets it outpace both Mega Charizard fomes, Non-Choice Scarf Garchomp, Mega Pinsir, Durant, and Speed tie with other base 110 Speed Pokemon like Jumpluff, and Latios, which can discourage your opponent from sending these Pokemon. This makes clear that Archeops doesn't win these matchups consistently Archeops is locked into Defeatist which doesn't help it. Why? Explain Defeatist

Usage Tips
========

Archeops is a powerful fast but frail physical attacker so its good to send it against Pokemon that get outsped by and cannot wall it such Mega Charizard X, Mega Charizard Y, Mega Pinsir, Mega Heracross, and Mega Blaziken. Avoid sending it against faster threats like Greninja and Zeraora, physically defensive walls such as Mega Slowbro, Zygarde-C and Sturdy Pokemon like Golem and Magnezone as they would defeat it by tanking its hits and retaliating with their own. Archeops should mostly use Head Smash as it's the hardest-hitting move it gets unless the foe resists it and its other moves get super effective coverage or the Pokemon like Mega Pinsir, Victini, Volcarona, and Alolan Marowak can be OHKOed by Rock Slide as it has more accuracy. However, Archeops should always use Head Smash against Charizard for the first time as it may be the bulky Mega Charizard X variant which can take a Rock Slide. You may use instead pick Rock Slide if you are aware that the opposing Charizard variant is Mega Charizard Y or non-fully bulky Mega Charizard X. You should avoid using Fly if you predict the foe to be carrying Protect or Substitute for example Mimikyu. Mega Blaziken is a 50/50 with Protect and the choice between Head Smash and Fly. If you predict Mega Blaziken to use Protect on the first turn, which it mostly would to get the Speed Boost, go for Fly to strike it on the second turn however if you predict Mega Blaziken to straightaway attack or setup Substitute; go for Head Smash to OHKO it.

Team Options

Archeops gets outsped by some hard-hitters like Choice Specs Greninja, Naganadel, Mega Lopunny, and Scarf users like Garchomp which can easily one shot it. Fast Pokemon like Choice Scarf Porygon-Z can defeat all of these threats The reason I added Choice Specs is bc Shadow Sneak gren, which has like 25% usage, can beat pz. So either add some way to show that pz loses to sneak gren or specify which gren it beats. In turn, Archeops can eliminate Dragonite, Meloetta, Bulky Mega Heracross, and Primarina which are able to defeat Porygon-Z. Specially Powerful Pokemon like Bulky Mega Charizard Y equipped with Flame Charge offers support against Mega Gyarados, Greninja, Mega Slowbro, and Mimikyu which threaten Archeops while Archeops can deal with Mega Charizard X, Dragonite, Chansey,lol no way, it tanks banded head smash and recovers, tanking it after defeatist. and Heatran which threaten Mega Charizard Y. Similarly, semi bulky Mega Charizard X checks Steel-types like Mega Metagross and Magearna reliably, Mega Lopunny, Mimikyu, Magnezone, Sawk, and Donphan which can defeat Archeops while the Pokemon in question helps Mega Charizard X by checking bulky Z Tapu Lele, Dragonite, Meloetta, and Primarina. Sturdy Pokemon heavily counter Archeops, Bulky Mega Heracross is a great teammate for Archeops as it can single-handedly take out most of Archeops' checks including most Sturdy Pokemon like Golem and Sawk, faster threats like Mega Lucario, non-extrasensory Greninja, Mega Lopunny, Choice Scarf Garchomp and most of the Water-type Pokemon such as Mega Gyarados and Mega Swampert. Archeops in turn helps Mega Heracross by scaring off Mega Charizard X, Mega Charizard Y Dragonite, Mega Pinsir, and Mega Medicham which threaten Mega Heracross.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]

Other Options
=============

Switcheroo can be used over Heat Wave to choice-lock defensive Pokemon like Chansey and Dusclops which allows Archeops to then KO these after locking them into recovery moves. Aerial Ace can be used over Fly to avoid taking two turns in executing the move but its damage output is weaker, missing the KO against Mega Venusaur. However, with the Choice scarf Band, it can no longer defeat the likes of Psychium Z Tapu Lele, physically bulky Primarina, and Mega Venusaur with Charm and Synthesis. Archeops can also make use of Z-Moves for attacking. Flynium Z with Sky Attack provides it a devastating 200 Base Power Supersonic Skytrike while Rockium Z Head Smash it gets a powerful 200 Base Power Continental Crush which provides it perfect accuracy but using Z-Moves over Choice Band reduces the power of its other moves and leaves it devoid of coverage moves which results in losing of some of the Pokemon which the Choice Band set can defeat. Moreover, Choice Band Head Smash hits harder than Continental Crush. The former always one shots HP invested Dragonite through Multiscale but the latter depends on a roll to do the same.

**Sturdy Pokemon**: Sturdy Pokemon like Golem, Donphan, Sawk, and Magnezone are able to take one hit and OHKO Archeops back with their powerful moves.

**Bulky Pokemon**: Bulky Pokemon like Zygarde-C and Mega Slowbro can easily take Outrage and Head Smash respectively from Archeops and defeat it by Thousand Arrows / Devastating Drake and Scald respectively.

**Mimikyu**: Thanks to Disguise, Mimikyu can take one of Archeops' attacks and either KO it with Let's Snuggle Forever or Never Ending Nightmare and Shadow Sneak.

**Water-types**: Archeops loses to most of the Water-type Pokemon such as Mega Gyarados, Greninja, Mega Slowbro, and Mega Swampert. As Greninja outspeeds and OHKOes it while the others are able to take a hit from it and one shot it with their super effective Water-type STAB. Good analysis, be sure to remove some of the example mons that aren't guaranteed matchups. qc 3/3

1) I'd say, don't include CScarf Genesect as getting killed by Heat Wave, since Scarf Gene outspeeds Archeops, and bops it using TBolt/FlashCannon ~~but them, who uses the bad Scarf Genesect except Tol anyway?~~

2)Also, Flynium Z with Sky Attack provides it a devastating 200 Base Power Supersonic Skytrike Skystrike

Similarly, physically bulky Mega Charizard X checks Steel-types like Mega Metagross and Magearna and Mega Lopunny, Magnezone, and Sawk reliably, Mega Lopunny, Magnezone, and Sawk which can all defeat Archeops,(AC) while the Pokemon in question Archeops helps Mega Charizard X in return by checking bulky Z Tapu Lele, Dragonite, Meloetta, and Primarina. Sturdy Pokemon heavily counter Archeops, so bulky Mega Heracross is a great teammate for Archeops, as it can single-handedly take out most of Archeops's checks including most Sturdy Pokemon like Golem and Sawk, faster threats like Mega Lucario, Greninja, Mega Lopunny, and Choice Scarf Garchomp,(AC) and most of the Water-type Pokemon such as Mega Gyarados and Mega Swampert. Archeops in turn helps Mega Heracross by scaring off Mega Charizard X, Mega Charizard Y,(AC) Dragonite, Mega Pinsir, and Mega Medicham which threaten Mega Heracross.

The same moves mentioned in the Choice Band set along with Hidden Power Ice can be used with Choice Scarf with a Naughty nature allowing Archeops to get past faster threats like Naganadel, Landorus-T, Zeraora, Mega Lopunny, and Choice Scarf Porygon-Z while retaining most of its power of defeating Mega Charizard X, Mega Charizard Y, and non bulk invested Dragonite with no bulk investment through Multiscale. However, without Choice Band, it can no longer defeat the likes of Psychium Z Tapu Lele, physically bulky Primarina, and Mega Venusaur with Charm and Synthesis. Flynium Z with Sky Attack provides it a devastating 200 Base Power Supersonic Skystrike while Rockium Z Head Smash it gets is a powerful 200 Base Power Continental Crush which provides it perfect accuracy but using Z-Crystals over Choice Band reduces the power of its other moves and leaves it devoid of coverage moves which results in losing of some of the Pokemon which the Choice Band set can defeat. The former always one shots OHKOes HP-(add hyphen)invested Dragonite through Multiscale but the latter depends on a roll to do so. the same. As Rock Slide has better accuracy than Head Smash, it can be used as a more reliable Rock-type STAB move against Pokemon that can be KOed with it like Mega Pinsir and Victini. It also comes with a However,(AC) it should be noted that it doesn't give any additional matchup wins advantages other than the 30% flinch chance which can be useful for defeating Pokemon like Crustle, Avalugg, and that cannot be OHKOed by any of its other moves.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Steel-types**: Steel-type Pokemon like Mega Metagross, Mega Aggron, Aegislash, Magearna, and Mega Mawile are commonly used in the 1v1 metagame which and resist both of its Archeops's STAB moves and are bulky enough to tank an Earthquake and retaliate with their super effective Steel-type moves. However, Kartana can be defeated with Heat Wave and Durant gets OHKOed by Head Smash.

**Faster Attackers**: Greninja, Zeraora, Mega Lopunny, and Choice Scarf users like Garchomp, Tapu Lele, Victini, and Genesect outpace Archeops and are able to take it out with their attacks. However, all of these Pokemon except for Garchomp can be defeated by the Choice Scarf variant of Archeops.

**Sturdy Pokemon**: Sturdy Pokemon like Golem, Donphan, Sawk, and Magnezone are able to take one hit and OHKO Archeops back with their powerful moves.

**Bulky Pokemon**: Bulky Pokemon like Zygarde-C and Mega Slowbro can easily take Outrage and Head Smash,(AC) respectively,(AC) from Archeops and defeat it by using Thousand Arrows / Devastating Drake and Scald,(AC) respectively.

**Water-types**: Archeops loses to most of the Water-type Pokemon such as Mega Gyarados, Greninja, Mega Slowbro, and Mega Swampert. As Greninja outspeeds and OHKOes it, while the others are able to take a hit from it and one shot OHKO it with their super effective Water-type STAB moves. However, the Choice Band set has a great chance of defeating defeat Primarina, Tapu Fini, and Mega Blastoise.

GP 2/2
[OVERVIEW]
Archeops's great offensive typing coupled with a mammoth Attack stat and access to high-Base Powered STAB and coverage moves like Head Smash and Outrage paves its way for being a fast powerful attacker. Its base 110 Speed stat lets it outspeed top-tier threats including Mega Charizard X, Mega Charizard Y, non-Choice Scarf Garchomp, Durant, Mega Pinsir, and Speed tie with Jumpluff, (comma) and Archeops's offensive power can be further upgraded with Choice Band to OHKO bulky Pokemon like Dragonite, bulky Tapu Lele, and Meloetta. Archeops is also highly reliant on Head Smash for KOing foes, (AC) which is unreliable as it has a due to its relatively low 80% accuracy and inflicts recoil that can activate Defeatist, costing Archeops its matchup against Chansey. Archeops is also very frail due to its low defenses and cannot take hits, (redundant) so if it fails to KO the opposing Pokemon, then it's most likely going to lose. This also makes it lose against faster Pokemon like Naganadel and Mega Lopunny as well as every Sturdy Pokemon like Golem, Donphan, Magnezone, and Sawk, all of which are very common.

Moves
========

Head Smash, despite its relatively low accuracy, is a great Rock-type STAB move with a huge 150 Base Power which that lets it OHKO Mega Charizard X, Mega Charizard Y, Dragonite through Multiscale, bulky Tapu Lele, and Meloetta. Fly is its Archeops's Flying-type STAB move, (AC) which makes it invulnerable it on the first turn and strikes on the the second allowing allows it to defeat the likes of Mega Heracross, Mega Venusaur, Kommo-o, and Keldeo. Outrage combined with Choice Band lets it OHKO non-Choice Scarf Garchomp (RP) It and can be also be used as the a more reliable move to KO non-Choice Scarf Haxorus. Heat Wave can be used to KOes Kartana and non-Choice Scarf Genesect reliably. Alternatively, Earthquake can be used to OHKO non-Choice Scarf Terrakion, non-Choice Scarf Excadrill, and Nihilego with ease without relying on Head Smash and also provides it Archeops with Rock / Ground coverage, which few Pokemon resist.

Set Details
========

Maximum Attack investment with Choice Band lets it Archeops hit as hard as possible, (AC) which is required to one-shot (AH) bulky Z-Move Tapu Lele, Dragonite through Multiscale, and Meloetta. Maximum Speed investment with a Jolly nature lets it outpace Mega Charizard X, Mega Charizard Y, non-Choice Scarf Garchomp, Mega Pinsir, Durant, and Speed tie with other base 110 Speed Pokemon like Jumpluff(remove comma) and Latios, (AC) which can discourage your opponent from sending these Pokemon. Unfortunately, Archeops must use Defeatist, which reduces its attacks to half their power when it has less than half of its maximum HP remaining, costing it its matchup against Chansey after Head Smash recoil.

Usage Tips
========

Archeops is a powerful and fast but frail physical attacker, (AC) so it is better to send it against Pokemon that get outsped by and cannot wall it, such Mega Charizard X, Mega Charizard Y, Mega Pinsir, Mega Heracross, and Dragonite. Avoid sending it against faster threats like Greninja and Zeraora, physically defensive walls such as Mega Slowbro (RC) and Zygarde-C, and Sturdy Pokemon like Golem and Magnezone, as they would defeat it by tanking its hits and retaliating with their own. Archeops should mostly use Head Smash, (AC) as it's the hardest-hitting move it gets, (AC) unless the foe resists it and its other moves get super effective coverage. You should avoid using Fly if you predict the foe to be carrying Protect or Substitute, as they can take advantage of the extra turn and avoid taking any damage.

Team Options
========
Archeops gets outsped by some hard-hitters like Choice Specs Greninja, Naganadel, Mega Lopunny, and Choice Scarf users like Garchomp, (AC) which can OHKO it. Fast Pokemon like Choice Scarf Porygon-Z can defeat all of these threats, hence it is a great partner for Archeops; (SC) in turn, Archeops can check Dragonite, Meloetta, bulky Mega Heracross, and Primarina, which are able to defeat Porygon-Z. Specially offensive (RH) Pokemon like bulky Mega Charizard Y offer support against Mega Gyarados, Greninja, and Mega Slowbro, (AC) which threaten Archeops, (AC) while Archeops can deal with Pokemon like Mega Charizard X, Dragonite, and Mega Pinsir, (AC) which threaten Mega Charizard Y.
