Monotype Arctozolt (Ice)

Arctozolt @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Slush Rush
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
- Freeze-Dry
- Bolt Beak
- Low Kick
- Substitute

The STAB type combination of Ice and Electric with Slush Rush makes Arctozolt extremely threatening in matchups like Dark, Water, and Flying. Freeze-Dry allows it to run through Pokemon like Swampert, Garchomp, and Tapu Bulu. Bolt Beak improves Arcozolt's coverage, and its sheer damage output effectively deals with walls like Clefable and Toxapex. Low Kick allows Arctozolt to remove Tyranitar and Kyurem, major obstacles to Ice teams. Substitute eases predictions by capitalizing on forced switches. Arctozolt is easily outsped by common Choice Scarf users such as Thundurus-T and Zarude, even in hail, so a secondary fast threat like Choice Scarf Weavile is greatly appreciated. Arctozolt needs Hail support from Alolan Ninetales for Slush Rush, and it also greatly appreciates increased longevity from Aurora Veil.

The STAB combination of wide coverage Ice- and Electric-type moves and Slush Rush makes Arctozolt extremely threatening for in matchups like Dark, Water, and Flying. Dark-, Poison-, Water-, and Flying-type teams. Freeze Dry allows Arctozolt to run through Pokemon like Swampert, Garchomp and Tapu Bulu. Ground-types such as Landorus-T, and Swampert, deal with Dragon- and Grass-types such as Garchomp and Amoonguss. Bolt Beak improves Arcozolt's coverage, allowing it to threaten the entirety of Poison, Water, and Flying teams by heavily denting walls such as Toxapex and Celesteela. Furthermore, and along with its the sheer damage output, of Bolt Beak allows Arctozolt to effectively wall break and remove most offensive Pokemon that do not resist it deal with walls like Clefable and Toxapex. Low Kick rounds out Arctozolt's coverage, allowing it to remove Tyranitar and Kyurem. Substitute allows Arctozolt to ease predictions by capitalizing on forced switches and force the opponent to play aggressively. Arctozolt is easily outsped by common Choice Scarf users such as Thundurus-T, Blacephalon, and Zarude, so a secondary form of Speed control like Choice Scarf Weavile is greatly appreciated. Arctozolt also needs Hail support from Alolan Ninetales to function properly, and also greatly appreciates increased longevity due to Aurora Veil. Cloyster and Piloswine can set hazards which can wear down the opposing team further for Arctozolt.
