Ariados Mini-Analysis

[OVERVIEW]
Ariados is, by all means, a mediocre pokemon. Its vast special and physical movepool can't even come close to compensate its poor typing and low stats make it difficult to use with any effectiveness. However, Ariados has access to both Sticky Webs and Toxic Spikes, making it a versatile hazard setter. However, is still a very borderline choice.

[SET]
move 1: Sticky Webs
move 2: Toxic Spikes
move 3: Megahorn/Leech Life
move 4: Shadow Sneak/Sucker Punch
item: Focus Sash
ability: Insomnia
nature: Adamant
evs: 252 Atk/252 Spdef/4 Hp

Not much to say on this one, is quiet average. Sticky web is mandatory as it can help tremendously your sweepers and Toxic spikes can wear down opposing mons.

Megahorn is the stab move that can 2hitKO an opposing Claydol switching in to rapid spin away the webs or the spikes. Leech Life can be chosen over it if you prefer accuracy over power but the difference is huge and Ariados doesn't really have the bulk to have some benefit from it.

Same goes for Sucker Punch and Shadow Sneak. One his more powerful, but less reliable in term of hitting something.

Still, Ariados is completely outclassed as setter by Leavanny thanks to its superior speed. Also Aggron, Carracosta, Clefairy and Mesprit are better overall setters due to typing, stats or overall utility.

Ariados is already being written by someone else. Only Pokemon in the unreserved section can be taken, which at the moment is nothing for the mini-analyses unfortunately. Locking this.
