Smelly and weirdly flamboyant, showing off a bit of leg smh. About as weird as its kin Slurpuff. Oh well, it's regardless still the best Fairy-type in RU and very useful mon in general.

[OVERVIEW]

Aromatisse functions as one of the best clerics in RU thanks to its very useful typing, good bulk, and access to Wish and Aromatherapy. With these qualities, Aromatisse can take on many common threats such as Hitmonlee, Druddigon, and Virizion, and Scrafty decently well and support its team with Wish and Aromatherapy. It also has mild offensive presence with its base 99 Special Attack and access to STAB Moonblast to hit the things it checks fairly hard. Furthermore, unlike other clerics, Aromatisse is not vulnerable to Taunt and Encore thanks to its ability Aroma Veil, which grants it an immunity to said moves, making it harder to stop from performing its cleric duties. However, Aromatisse is relatively easy to pressure, as Wish is its only way to heal itself, so it has to choose between healing itself and its teammates. Aromatisse is also vulnerable to many common Pokemon in the tier, such as Fletchinder, Escavalier, and Mega Steelix. Aromatisse also has to deal with coverage moves such as Gunk Shot from Druddigon and Trick and Switcheroo.

[SET]
name: Defensive
move 1: Wish
move 2: Protect
move 3: Moonblast
move 4: Aromatherapy
ability: Aroma Veil
item: Leftovers
evs: 252 HP / 244 Def / 12 Spe
nature: Bold

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

Wish allows Aromatisse to heal the HP of itself and its teammates if possible, especially with its high HP stat. Protect allows Aromatisse to guarantee that it receives its Wishes, especially if it is at low HP, and also allows Aromatisse to freely scout the foe's moves without losing any of its HP. Moonblast serves as a reliable and relatively strong STAB move that allows Aromatisse to hit many of the things it walls hard. Aromatherapy allows Aromatisse to remove status from itself and its team, further enhancing its support roles.

Set Details
========

Aromatisse invests primarily into physical bulk to take on common physical threats such as Druddigon, Hitmonlee, Scrafty, and Virizion. This set invests 12 Speed EVs to outspeed Amoonguss, which can be useful to pull off a final Wish or Aromatherapy if Aromatisse is weakened. A specially defensive spread is an acceptable alternative, allowing Aromatisse to take on a different slate of threats such as Rotom-C and Clawitzer much more effectively.

Usage Tips
========

Aromatisse is best used as a switch-in to common threats in RU while providing invaluable support with Wish and Aromatherapy, allowing it to last longer and keep its team alive. While Aromatherapy is a great tool on Aromatisse, its low PP means it cannot be used liberally; do not make extreme use of it if you feel it is not completely necessary to use it. Also, make use of Protect to allow Aromatisse to scout the foe's moves and deal with them accordingly.

Team Options
========

Jellicent does great at dealing with Delphox and Mega Camerupt, and appreciates Aromatisse being able to absorb Knock Off for it. Hitmontop can remove entry hazards for Aromatisse via Rapid Spin and appreciates Wish support to help it last longer. Rhyperior does great at handling Fletchinder, while Quagsire also does well to take advantage of Mega Steelix and Fletchinder, both of which take complete advantage of Aromatisse. Likewise, Aromatisse also provides Wish support and handles Hitmonlee and Scrafty for it. Drapion is also a good teammate, as it can provide Toxic Spikes support and take on Meloetta and Sigilyph fairly well. It also appreciates Wish support from Aromatisse.

[SET]
name: Mono-Attacker
move 1: Calm Mind
move 2: Moonblast
move 3: Rest
move 4: Sleep Talk
ability: Aroma Veil
item: Leftovers
evs: 252 HP / 244 Def / 12 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

Calm Mind slowly boosts Aromatisse's Special Defense and power. Moonblast hits hard with Calm Mind boosts in tow; the Special Attack drop can also prove very useful at times. Rest fully heals Aromatisse, and Sleep Talk allows Aromatisse to function while under the turns of sleep.

Set Details
========

This set maximizes physical bulk in order to better take on Hitmonlee, Druddigon, Scrafty, and Virizion. It also invests 12 Speed EVs to outspeed Amoonguss, which proves to be very useful because it allows Aromatisse to use Rest against it before it is taken down.

Usage Tips
========

This particular set serves as a late-game win condition for stall teams that can still function as an effective defensive threat. Compared to Mega Audino, Aromatisse has the ability to check Hitmonlee and also possesses an immunity to Taunt and Encore, which are key qualities for a defensive Pokemon. Aromatisse primarily aims to set up on Pokemon it can wall as well as passive walls such as Alomomola. It can set up on several physical attackers such as Hitmonlee, Mega Banette, and, to a lesser extent, Druddigon. It can also set up on Alomomola with ease. Save Aromatisse for when its counters, such as Escavalier and Bronzong, are removed from the battle, as otherwise it won't be very efficient at sweeping.

Team Options
========

Spiritomb or Houndoom can remove Bronzong from the battle and also trap them with Pursuit. Houndoom can also handle Escavalier and Amoonguss fairly well. Escavalier is also a good teammate to handle Amoonguss and opposing Psychic-types such as Meloetta and Sigilyph, as they can easily win a Calm Mind war against Aromatisse. It can also utilize Pursuit to trap the aforementioned Pokemon. Dugtrio can handle Registeel, Delphox, and Houndoom fairly well and also trap them. It can also provide Memento support, severely weakening a Pokemon so Aromatisse can start boosting more easily. Rhyperior can handle Fletchinder decently well and also provides Stealth Rock support. Eelektross is also a decent teammate, as it handles Fletchinder and Mega Steelix and can use a slow Volt Switch to get Aromatisse in safely.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
########

Trick Room is one of Aromatisse's most notable options. It makes for a great asset for Trick Room teams, as it possesses a Taunt immunity and a Dark resistance, which are key assets for such team archetypes. It also makes for a nice lure with Hidden Power Fire and Thunderbolt from a base 99 Special Attack. Aromatisse has several miscellaneous offensive options such as Thunderbolt, Energy Ball, and Psychic, but none of these are particularly useful on Aromatisse. It also has Light Screen and Reflect to support its team, but Aromatisse would rarely actually find room to run such options. Beyond this, Aromatisse has a relatively barren movepool.

Checks and Counters
########

**Steel-types** Steel-types, namely Durant and Escavalier, are all capable of taking down Aromatisse with Iron Head and can take on anything Aromatisse has to offer. Magneton can also take on Aromatisse using Flash Cannon. Curse Registeel can set up on Aromatisse and proceed to take it down.

**Poison-types and Poison-type Moves** Amoonguss can take on Aromatisse very well and cripple it with Spore. Drapion can also wear down Aromatisse with Poison Jab. Gunk Shot from Pokemon such as Druddigon and to a lesser extent Mega Banette can also take Aromatisse down as it tries to switch in.

**Fire-types** Fire-types are capable of enduring a Moonblast and, in many cases, use Aromatisse as complete setup fodder. Fletchinder, Delphox, and Houndoom can all set up on Aromatisse and proceed to take it down with their STAB moves.

**Calm Mind Sweepers** Calm Mind variants of Meloetta and Sigilyph can use Aromatisse as setup fodder and proceed to remove it from the battle.

Make mono attacker a set of its own and explain its perks over cromatisse and cresselia (i've made a long ass post about it on audino's qc check, refer to it, since it has some aromatisse references too).

Bigger mentions of trick room in OO. this thing is like a trick room staple of ru. i'd also like if you gave its lure abilities a very tiny mention (base 99 special attack hidden power fire does decent damage for example. it could run a similar set to trick room + nasty plot slowking).

Not going all in on this one because i'm tired after the aforementioned audino post, but i'll definitely do so after you're done writing calm mind + resttalk aromatisse. if you end up not writing up that set because any other qc members disagrees with it i guess it's fine, but i'd definitely like to see it, especially after having used it myself.

Iirc 240 hp lets it hit a lefties number which is always nice. Also seconding adding mono attacker because it is really hard to take down with a few boosts. When mentioning trick room you should mention aroma veil making it immune to taunt which makes it one of the best setters in the meta.

imo make physically defensive and specially defensive two different sets, they check different things; seconding 240 HP

uhh Idk if other QC people wanted SpD Aromatisse to have a set or not, and I'm not sure it really needs one, but it should be OO at the very least, probably one of the best response to Clawitzer there is so ye, OO that unless another QC member wants it to be a set then make it a set

QC approved 1/3 for now

Yeah none of the banned mons were mentioned in the write-up, I took them all off. Speaking of which, this is ready for a final QC check and is written.

Overall, Aromatisse is a very valuable defensive Pokemon, but one must be able to alleviate Aromatisse's flaws-this could make the difference between Aromatisse being an asset or a liability.
