Articuno has seen a recent surge of viability and usage due to the influx of stall-oriented teams in high-level tournament play. As a secondary entry hazard remover, Articuno utilizes Roost, Pressure, and its absurd special bulk to reliably check entry hazard setters such as Qwilfish and Mudsdale, Toxic users such as Tangela and specially defensive Alolan Sandslash, and certain special wallbreakers and setup sweepers such as Lilligant and Choice Specs Jellicent. Articuno is extremely susceptible to Stealth Rock and is usually not a stand-alone entry hazard remover; therefore, Pokemon such as Claydol, Altaria, and Oricorio-E can remove entry hazards, particularly Stealth Rock, alongside Articuno. Other Pokemon commonly used alongside Articuno on stall teams include Pyukumuku, Regirock, and Audino. The first two appreciate the Grass resistance Articuno provides, while Audino enjoys having a moveslot open to utilize Encore or Toxic. Audino also appreciates having a secondary special tank to fall back on if it becomes overwhelmed by special wallbreakers.

Despite having been a part of the PU tier since the beginning of the generation the fact that you said it's gotten a recent surge in viablity renders this point fluff. it's important to remove what eats up char count, esp since this write-up is already exceeding it, Articuno has seen a recent surge of viability and usage due to the influx of stall-oriented teams seeing the light of the day in high-level tournament play. Articuno sees use on said teams as a specially defensive wall and secondary entry hazard remover, utilizing its fantastic special bulk redundant with the previous point, access to reliable recovery in Roost, incredible ability in Pressure, and workable typing to reliably check Pokemon such as Mesprit, Lilligant, and Haunter (it rarely uses its own typing to check things since the only relevant resistance in terms of meta relevant mons is grass. it's more about its natural special bulk [higher than audino's as a fun note] and pressure abusing other moves in a way that lets it beat hazard/toxic/wallbreakers with limited pp that struggle to break through cuno.) (I'd recommend either replacing haunter with offensive jellicent and moving the latter first or replacing it in general, since haunter, while good, is less common and isn't any more checkable for cuno than audino is, with both only hating trick otherwise. jelli on the other hand is a top mon that cuno checks in a way that dino can't as well due to the differences in how they deal with water spout, with cuno being able to tank a hit and outspeeding after). Articuno is extremely susceptible to Stealth Rock and therefore is usually not a stand-alone entry hazard remover. Pokemon such as Natu, Altaria, and Claydol (natu isn't relevant and can be removed. put claydol first as the showcasing of teddeh stall warrants it, being a mon with fantastic typing synergy to check aggron/lycanroc and electric-types. replace natu with skuntank [better mon in general and useful on stall] and perhaps consider an ori-e reference, a mon that is notable for its showcasing in lst stall which did well in the earlier portions of PULT.) can be utilized to bounce back or remove entry hazards, particularly Stealth Rock, alongside Articuno (i would combine this with the previous sentence to keep it concise. instead of creating another, you could honestly say "making Pokemon like x, y, and z great primary sources of hazard removal" and call it a day). Other Pokemon commonly used alongside Articuno on stall-oriented teams include Pyukumuku, Regirock, and Audino; the former two appreciate the Grass-resistance Articuno provides while the latter enjoys having a moveslot open to utilize Encore (not just encore, it uses stuff like toxic viably too. dino also appreciates a secondary special tank to fall back on if it's against special breakers if it has gotten weakened too.).

as an advice, try to avoid explaining what moves do "access to reliable recovery in Roost" can easily just be "using its reliable recovery" and instead focus on why it's getting a spotlight first and foremost.

add remove (comments)

Articuno has seen a recent surge of viability and usage due to the influx of stall-oriented teams seeing the light of the day (this is pretty repetitive with "influx") in high-level tournament play. As a secondary entry hazard remover, Articuno utilizes Roost, Pressure, and its absurd special bulk to reliably check entry hazard setters such as Qwilfish and Mudsdale, Toxic users such as Tangela and specially defensive Alolan Sandslash, and certain special wallbreakers and setup sweepers such as Choice Specs Jellicent and Lilligant. (if specs lilligant is a set but not what you refer to here, you could switch to "Lilligant and Choice Specs Jellicent") Articuno is extremely susceptible to Stealth Rock and is usually not a stand-alone entry hazard remover; therefore, Pokemon such as Claydol, Altaria, and Oricorio-E can be utilized to (grammatically fine to include, optional removal for length) remove entry hazards, particularly Stealth Rock, alongside Articuno. Other Pokemon commonly used alongside Articuno on stall-oriented (is there a difference between this and just "stall"?) teams include Pyukumuku, Regirock, and Audino. The (optional semicolon to period; these last few sentences are semicolon-heavy) former first two appreciate the Grass-resistance Grass resistance (no hyphen) Articuno provides, (comma) while the latter Audino (this joins better with the last sentence imo) enjoys having a moveslot open to utilize Encore or Toxic. Audino also appreciates having a secondary special tank to fall back on if it becomes overwhelmed by special wallbreakers.
