Walrus Aura Guardian: Walrus of your Peers - died in cat 3.

[8:25 PM] KnightsofCydonia: well, the queue is empty otherwise(edited)
[8:26 PM] KnightsofCydonia: so wait until Tuesday I'll give you the go-ahead

SIGNUPS WILL BE UP FOR ONE WEEK.

System: Instead of the host rating your songs, the other submittors will rate you! No biased host here!
After signups close, you have 1 week to submit to the first category. Submissions to other categories are welcome. You may change your submitted song until deadline.
After the 1 week, the host will call deadline and send out a shared document with links to all the submitted songs. You will have 1 week to submit your ratings (see the rules).
After all ratings are in, the host will determine a time to "reveal" submissions (it is a reveal to those not participating), and announce results. Only submissions that scored will be played; only the top 3 will be played in full. Exceptions can be made in special circumstances.
After reveals, you will have 1 week to submit / change your submission for the next category. The cycle repeats until all 10 categories are done. You can submit/change submissions for future categories at your leisure.

Rules
  1. All submissions must be at least 3 minutes long, but no more than 10 minutes. EXCEPTION: Category 10, max is 15 minutes
  2. You have 10 points (per round) to spend on rating other submissions. You may not rate any submission higher than 6, and may not spend more than 8 points on any 2 submissions. Invalid submissions will not be counted. If I'm feeling merciful, I'll point it out. Just, if you give a 5, you can only give 0-3 to other things; if you give a 6, you can only give 0-2 to other things.
  3. If you do not submit a song, then you will not be allowed to rate other songs and will receive no points.
  4. If you fail to assign all 10 points, then your score for the round will be reduced by a percentage equal to your missing points. If you don't give any points, then even if everyone else gave you a 6, you won't get anything. If you only give 5 points to other people, then you will only receive half of the points other people gave you.
  5. You can't give yourself points. Nice try.
  6. No collaboration, no revealing who submitted the song in any way. That won't be revealed until the host does reveals.
  7. If two people submit the same song, then their submission will be combined and they will split the points evenly. The number of equals will be announced. Nearly-identical songs will receive this treatment, too. Host discretion. Two different singers singing it in different ways does not count as the same.
  8. If you are subject to rule 7, then you MAY rate that submission, but you must either give it 0 or an amount equal to the number of people submitting (including yourself). So if you and 8 others all submit Ode to Joy or something, you can give it 9 points (an exception to rules 2 and 5). However, you will split that 9 ways.
  9. Fractional point values are allowed. See rules 4 and 7.
  10. WHO RATED WHICH SONG WHAT WILL BE REVEALED DURING REVEALS (and also who submitted which song). DO NOT SHARE YOUR RATINGS WITH ANYONE BEFORE THEN. AGAIN, NO COLLABORATION.
  11. If you fail to submit songs, there is no additional punishment - you simply cannot accrue points, nor give them. But to prevent point-drain issues, if you fail to submit complete ratings twice, then your songs will not be eligible to receive points (and will be called out as such), until the category after you next submit your ratings.
  12. Please make sure to use the code and /code tags for your youtubes. It will make copying them over to the shared document easier.
  13. IF A VIDEO IS BLOCKED IN MY REGION, I WILL LET YOU KNOW ASAP SO YOU CAN CHANGE IT.

btw what if the amount of signups is greater than expected? will the total amount of points u can give go up from 10 to idk 15 or sth?

[11:31 AM] KnightsofCydonia: I kinda want tje signups to stop at {prime number}+1.
[11:32 AM] KnightsofCydonia: So you can't split things evenly and have to think more about what you're listening to.

``First, R-B-Y posted a withdrawal and did not send their votes. Their song is in order based on the number of points it WOULD have gotten. None awarded.``

Code:
The mournful song Never Forget from Halo 3, submitted by Jrdn. This received 4.7 points: 0.7 from KnightsofCydonia, 1 each from Ragmatho and ThePyrokinetic, 2 from Cancerous. I suspect the subdued, somber tone contributed to the low rating. Had biased host been rating, this would have done better.
Code:
Pokemon ORAS’s Battle! Zinnia Music was submitted by ragmatho. It received 7 points: 1 each from Jrdn and Lectrys, 2 from KnightsofCydonia, and 3 from Cancerous. The steady beat behind it was thrilling, but it still only scored second last before the modifier. A 7 feels about right.
Code:
Far Away from Red Dead Redemption was submitted by ThePyrokinetic. It received 7.5 points: 1 from Lectrys, 1.5 from KnightsofCydonia, 2 from Cancerous, and 3 from Jrdn. It has a distinctly reflective, melancholic feel. Lucky for Pyro, biased host wasn’t rating this.
Code:
Lectrys submitted Shovel Knight’s the Defender and got 7.8 points: 1 each from Cancerous and ThePyrokinetic, 1.8 from KnightsofCydonia, and 4 from ragmatho. It has a beat similar to Battle! Zinnia music, but with more presence. Possibly a little too much. That’s probably why it scored a couple shades better. Because R-B-Y failed to submit ratings, this is moved from fourth to third.
Code:
R-B-Y also submitted from Shovel Knight. Strike the Earth! also has a peppy beat, but a slightly more moderate feel to it. It received 9.9 points: 1.9 from KnightsofCydonia, 2 each from ragmatho and ThePyrokinetic, and 4 from Lectrys. Because R-B-Y did not send scoring votes, they receive 0 of the 9.9 they should have had.
Code:
Pursuit ~ Lying Coldly from Ace Attorney Investigations is more upbeat and less thriller than the other songs with quick beats. Cancerous sent it, and it got second place, earning 11.1 points: 1 from Jrdn, 2 from ThePyrokinetic, 2.1 from KnightsofCydonia, and 3 each from Lectrys and ragmatho.
Code:
Those who loved The Flame in the Flood, sent by KnightsofCydonia, really loved it. It also had a couple who liked it. It received a full 12 points and a round one first place: 1 from Lectrys, 2 from Cancerous, 4 from thePyrokinetic, and 5 from Jrdn. This song defies description by words.
ALSO, CATEGORY 10 IS AMENDED BY REQUEST: FIFTEEN MINUTE MAXIMUM INSTEAD OF TEN MINUTES. THIS WILL BE EDITED IN SHORTY.

YOU HAVE UNTIL 8PM EDT ON SATURDAY AUGUST 25TH TO SEND SUBMISSIONS FOR CATEGORY 2.
