Here is my monthly installment of the average movesets and moves used in the Uber metagame for the previous month, November 2009.

From this month I'm also offering something extra: item statistics. This is simply the smallest number of items held more often than not by a Pokemon (i.e. more than 50% of said Pokemon hold one of the items listed).

For example:

Code:
10. DARKRAI (Usages: 6647)

Average EVs: 4 HP, 4 Atk, 4 Def, 240 SpA, 4 SpD, 252 Spe
Average Nature Boosts/Reductions: -9.2% Atk, +9.2% Spe
[B]Most Common Items: Leftovers, Life Orb, Choice Scarf[/B]

Typical moveset:
- Dark Void
- Dark Pulse
- Nasty Plot
- Focus Blast
The bolded part is the new part. Here, we see that Darkrai holds Leftovers, Life Orb or Choice Scarf more often than not.

Enjoy!

I suppose Scizor, Mew, and Jirachi accumulate quite a lot of use for U-turn, but I definitely didn't expect it to be higher than some of the moves on the list. Although, thinking about it, the real shock was that it was higher than Fire Blast, but then Flamethrower still has almost 4.5% usage so comparing U-turn directly to either Fire Blast or Flamethrower is kind of missing the point that special Fire moves are quite common...

My major point of my posting however, is Grass Knot.

Rapid Spin: 4.03%
Hidden Power Fire: 3.58%
Pursuit: 3.48%
Grass Knot: 3.19%

To be honest, it simply amazes me that people aren't using this fabulous move. I find it far more reliable in Ubers, where the majority of opponent's are relatively heavy. However, the "real" reason for my liking of Grass Knot is because unlike Thunder/Ice Beam, Grass Knot hits both Groudon and Kyogre for super effective damage (Tyranitar too). This is especially vital in Ubers because keeping weather control is often a gamewinning feat. Grass Knot helps keep that control...

Grass Knot is just a solid move in all weathers, whereas Thunder can be slightly unreliable. Mewtwo is hit for 100 BP, and notably Groudon, Kyogre, Palkia, and Tyranitar are hit for 120 BP. I admit sometimes Grass Knot is useless though, I just like using it on Scarf Mewtwo etc., to hit all the aforementioned Pokémon hard (losing momentum with a mispredict sucks). I find it much easier to deal with things like Giratina-O and Latios, rather than a Groudon/Kyogre whom have their designated weather up, which often limits teams.

In short, we all know how annoying it is to use Thunder only for a Groudon to come in. Try Grass Knot.

And thanks X-Act as usual, these are handy.
