Here is my monthly installment of the average movesets and moves used in the Underused metagame for the previous month, November 2009.

From this month I'm also offering something extra: item statistics. This is simply the smallest number of items held more often than not by a Pokemon (i.e. more than 50% of said Pokemon hold one of the items listed).

For example:

Code:
2. ARCANINE (Usages: 16093)

Average EVs: 92 HP, 184 Atk, 32 Def, 32 SpA, 4 SpD, 164 Spe
Average Nature Boosts/Reductions: +4.6% Atk, -6.2% SpA, +1.6% Spe
[B]Most Common Items: Leftovers, Life Orb[/B]

Typical moveset:
- Extremespeed
- Flare Blitz
- Morning Sun
- Toxic

* Thunder Fang, Will-o-wisp and Hidden Power Grass can replace any of the four moves listed.
The bolded part is the new part. Here, we see that Arcanine holds Leftovers or Life Orb more often than not.

Enjoy!

All of these statistics are very cool and very useful. But I do have a question. How do you collect all the data and end up with all these numbers?

Substitute being 3rd on the list is a bit weird at first, but when you think about Pokemon such as Heatran, Machamp, Breloom, all sorts of Sub+CM Pokemon and sets such as Sub-HP Fire Gengar and Sub Latias, it makes sense a bit. Just shows how the metagame is becoming more diverse, as Substitute isn't really the first thing coming to mind when you look at the metagame.

This is for UU. :(

This is only for the UU metagame though. Substitute has always ranked very highly in UU's stats, and not so highly in OU.
