After a nice run on Shoddy, 960-40 over 1000 battles, I am retiring this team. Rate, Hate, Steal, whatever.
Swampert (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Torrent
EVs: 252 HP/76 Atk/180 Def
Impish nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Earthquake
- Stealth Rock
- Roar
- Ice Punch
I prefer this to the standard Mixpert, if only for Pert's higher attack than sp. attack. Setting up rocks is priority, but once rocks are set up, I can sweep. Stealth Rock is pretty much a given here, as is Earthquake. Pert is set on Impish to (obviously) raise my defense without lowering anything else that's actually necessary. Roar is there to get rid of anybody who would pose a threat to Pert, as well as to scout/spread rock damage. The EVs were taken off the site, although I don't see what the point of the 72 Speed EVs is. There really isn't anything important that it outspeeds with those EVs (I think), so I took them off and put them in attack.
Scizor (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Technician
EVs: 96 HP / 252 Atk / 80 Def / 80 Sdef
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Bullet Punch
- Roost
- Swords Dance
- Brick Break
Not that standard anymore, SDScizor is still seriously awesome. It's still semi-standard, so there's litttle to no surprise, since people won't be expecting a CB after they get hit by LO recoil. As many of you know, the point of this set is to set up SD, then sweep with Bullet Punch or Brick Break. Even if I can't set up SD, it still sweeps easily with LO and 130 base attack. Roost is another given, as Scizor likes the free recovery, without the problem of losing its flying abilities, as it isn't flying.
Starmie @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 40 HP/216 Spd/252 SAtk
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Trick
- Thunderbolt
- Surf
- Rapid Spin
I know that not every team needs a spinner, but this particular team is so Spikes/SR weak, that I think this particular team does. Rapid Spin is a given, that just might be why it's called a RAPID SPINNER. Starmie is an answer to many problems I've been continuously facing. It can Trick its Scarf onto Suicune, it can kill other Starmies (because now I'm faster than them), it can OHKO Gyarados, which Tenta couldn't do, it can even Trick the Scarf onto a Gengar to make it setup fodder for Scizor. It can revenge kill Mence, if Mence was weakened. Surf gets STAB and hits hard. T-bolt hits Tenta, Gyara, Mence for neutral. Rapid SPin spins. Trick is for being tricksy.
Celebi @ Leftovers
Evs:76 HP / 252 SpA / 180 Spe
Nature: Timid
~ Calm Mind
~ Grass Knot
~ Recover
~ Earth Power
Celebi has given me a much-needed counter to the ever-feared CroCune and Starmie. Although Celebi is thought of as being defensive, it has the same base stats as Jirachi, which is "Offensive". It has the typing, stats, and movepool to go either way. 76 HP allows it to have moderate bulk, apart from its great base stats. 108 Speed is for outspeeding those who think they can outspeed me - base 80s. 252 Special Attack brings me to a total of 299 - good by anybody's standards - even before I get a single Calm Mind up. Grass Knot hits hard, and gets rid of opposing Starmies and Suicunes, not to mention the ever-annoying Swampert. Earth Power hits Heatrans, seeing as I don't fear Scizor (Swampert), and I don't fear Dragons (Mence).
Togekiss (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 252 HP/160 Spd/96 SAtk
Modest nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Air Slash
- Aura Sphere
- Nasty Plot
- Roost
Now this is my Special Sweeper. Coming off a base 120 Special Attack, It doesn't come close to needing full EVs, as its SP. Attack is now a grand total of 345. Roost is for restoring, even more helpful if Togekiss is running Lum Berry. The HP EVs help it survive some things that might OHKO otherwise. The speed EVs allow it to outrun Adamant Ttar so it doesn't end my sweep early. Nasty Plot can bring my SP. Atk up to amazingly high levels, allowing it to sweep with Air Slash and Aura Sphere. With 3 Nasty Plots up, Aura Sphere will deal 464-505 damage on WishBliss.
Salamence (M) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 176 Atk/252 Spe/80 SAtk
Naughty nature (+Atk, -SDef)
- Earthquake
- Flamethrower
- Outrage
- Hydro Pump
Scarfmence is unexpected, and works awesomely. Comes in on your nice little DDMence or DDGyara, outspeeds, and OHKOS. With a scarf, Mence outspeeds ScarfTran, and can OHKO with Earthquake. I decided to give Mence Hasty > Naive, as its ability allows it to make up for its defense minus. Earthquake provides coverage against things like Metagross, Tentacruel, Heatran, Lucario, Heatproof Zong, etc. Fire Blast gets Metagross, Lucario, Levitate Zong, Mamoswine, Weavile, Celebi, etc. Outrage is awesome STAB, and can OHKO a lot of pokemon. I'm a bit hesitant to give it Draco Meteor, but I've had suggestions for both, and I want more advice on that.
TEAM BUILDING:
This is the team AS IT WAS when I first built it. (The beginning of the early platinum metagame). Two of the pokemon have been changed, this will be reported in the change log.
~The Lead~
I had recently seen ThePokemonDynasty's team promoting Sub Rhyperior. I wanted a Rhyperior in my team. So I created my own Anti-lead Rhyperior, and it was my lead. It also sucked ass.
~The Swords Dance Sweeper~
I was flipping through OU page on Smogon, and I found Scizor - an old favorite of mine. I looked at his page on Smogon, and I found SDScizor. This was my SD Sweeper. (any Physical Sweeper would have done, but this was the one).
~The Spinner~
I felt I needed
a) some bulk
b) a spinner
Donphan was the obvious choice.
~The Fire-eating Thing~
This team was made in the age of Scarftran. So when somebody on Smogon suggested a Heatran to me, I took and used that idea. I used SubTran, an unexpected...thing back in the day.
~The Special Sweeper/HAX GOD!~
It wasn't meant to be a hax god, I swear. I wanted a special sweeper, looked at NPKiss, and said, "I want that"
~The revenge killer~
Again, I was thinking outside the box. I saw Scarfmence on Smogon, used it, and it worked. It and Togekiss are the most dangerous Pokemon on my team today.
~Team change #1~
After a quick suggestion on Marriland, I turned Rhyperior into Swampert.
~Team change #2~
Hesitantly, and after advice from helpful Smogonites, Tentacruel arrived!
Team change #3~
Tony32 of TeamUber suggested that I go with a Celebi. As Heatran was the least needed member of my team, I replaced it w/Celebi.
~Team change #4~
august, moderator on Smogon, suggested a Starmie > Tenta. I complied.

THREAT LIST:
No threat | Medium Threat | Big Threat
Azelf: Any of my team members can stall it out. Scizor might be able to take an Explosion. However, if predicted incorrectly, it can be devastating. NPZelf, a lategame sweep, decimates me. Starmie can revenge kill. Mence can revenge kill.
Breloom: I can take a spore with a switchin, then bring in Scizor on the Sub, BP on the Focus Punch (it can take it), and BP again to OHKO.
Celebi: If it doesn't have HP Fire, I can own with Scizor. Salamence destroys it as well, so does Togekiss.
Dugtrio: My flyers can switch out of it. Outsped and OHKOd by Hydro Pump on Mence. Celebi. Starmie.
Electivire: Salamence.
Empoleon: If Mence switches in w/o getting Ice Beamed, Empy's dead. Celebi. Starmie.
Flygon: difficult. Outspeeds Naughty Mence. Scizor can get it, if it doesn't get Fire Blasted on the switch. (which it won't).
Gengar: Cannot OHKO Scizor, while it is OHKOd by Scizor. If it runs HP Fire, Mence can revenge kill. Starmie can murder.
Gliscor: Swampert's Ice Punch, Scizor's Bullet Punch, CAPTAIN FALCON'S FALCON PAWNCH!
Gyarados: Starmie. Mence can also switch in on most and OHKO. Celebi can switch in and take hits, but can't do much in return, especially if it gets a DD or two up.

Heracross: Tenta can switch in, but...
Infernape: Mence, barring HP Ice. Starmie.
Jirachi: Mence, Pert, Celebi.

Latias: Mence can revenge kill, Scizor can kill variants without HP Fire.
Lucario: Mence can kill.
Machamp: Togekiss, Swampert
Magnezone: Mence easily, Togekiss kills non-scarfed variants.

Scizor: Mence. Pert.
Snorlax: Scizor.
Starmie: Celebi, Starmie
Suicune: Celebi, Starmie
Togekiss: Salamence, Scizor, Starmie
Tyranitar: Scizor Scizor Scizor Scizor Scalamence

Note: This team has peaked at #3 on the OU leaderboard, and #14 on the Ubers leaderboard.
