Lilligant is an incredible setup sweeper thanks to its access to Quiver Dance, typing, which give many it setup opportunities against multiple common foes like Stunfisk and Sandslash, and Speed, making it faster than common Choice Scarfers such as Lycanroc-M and Gourgeist after a boost. Sleep Powder is part of what makes Lilligant so threatening; it allows it to potentially get past would-be answers like Klinklang, Drifblim, Unfezant, and Heatmor despite its underwhelming coverage, as well as giving it more setup opportunities. Pollen Puff targets Grass-types like Appletun and Gourgeist, and is Lilligant's best option against Dragon-types like Fraxure. On the other hand, Nature Power hits Flying- and Fire-types such as the aformentioned Unfezant and Heatmor, and it allows Lilligant to play around Sucker Punch. However, it can get past these with Sleep Powder, making Pollen Puff the better option.
Lilligant appreciates teammates capable of weakening problematic Steel- and Flying-types like Mawile and Unfezant. Stunfisk is a prime example, as it can even weaken them down for Lilligant via Rocky Helmet, as well as paralyze Choice Scarf Unfezant. Lilligant also appreciates Stunfisk setting Stealth Rock, as they notably allow it to OHKO Gourgeist with a boosted Pollen Puff. In exchange, Lilligant can deal with Water-, Grass, and Ground-types like Golduck, Ludicolo, and Sandslash for Stunfisk. Wallbreakers like Appletun, Pinsir, and Choice Specs Mr. Rime can weaken down specially defensive walls such as Type: Null, Flareon, and Klinklang, allowing Lilligant to clean easier mid- to late-game. Flame Orb Throh is an excellent partner as well, and it can also weaken down Togetic and Vespiquen for Lilligant. They all appreciate Lilligant putting various threats to sleep, providing them with more opportunities to come in and wallbreak. Pokemon such as Lycanroc-M, Morpeko, Alolan Dugtrio, and Klinklang appreciate Lilligant dealing with Ground-types like Sandslash they struggle against. Morpeko is an especially good partner, as it can bring Lilligant in safely on the field via Parting Shot, whereas Lycanroc-M, Alolan Dugtrio, and Klinklang can take advantage of the specially defensive walls Lilligant invites in. Klinklang can also switch into Choice Scarf Unfezant and Galarian Mr. Mime as they force out Lilligant even after a boost. Lilligant appreciates Spikes support, as they allow it to overwhelm switchins like Roselia, Type: Null, and Klinklang much easier. Sandslash is a good example; it can also switch into certain threats that force out Lilligant, like Unfezant and Mawile.

Lilligant makes for a very strong wallbreaker thanks to its access to Leaf Storm and an excellent Special Attack, allowing it to do a huge chunk to even resists like Pawniard and Drifblim. Further bolstering this, its great Speed makes it faster than common threats like Lycanroc-M and Gourgeist. Giga Drain serves as a more reliable secondary STAB move when Lilligant doesn't need Leaf Storm's power, and it's also more useful when Lilligant can clean. Pollen Puff hits Grass resists like Appletun and Tangela, while Healing Wish allows Lilligant to fully heal a teammate, giving it a second chance to wallbreak or clean. Petal Dance with Own Tempo is an option over Leaf Storm, as it makes Lilligant harder to take advantage of as well as allowing it to beat defensive behemoths like Throh. However, not being able to switch out makes Lilligant much more easy to revenge kill.
Due to its poor bulk, Lilligant appreciates teammates bringing it in safely via moves like U-turn, Volt Switch, and Parting Shot. This makes Silvally-Rock, Klinklang, and Morpeko excellent choices as they can bring Lilligant in on their answers, like Sandslash, Mareanie, and Stunfisk. In return, they can pressure specially defensive walls Lilligant can struggle against, like Flareon and Type: Null. Late-game cleaners such as Calm Mind Drifblim and Rain Dance Golduck greatly appreciate Lilligant softening up walls, giving them an easier time as well as Healing Wish, giving them a second chance to sweep. Entry hazards users like Sandslash, Stunfisk, and Alolan Dugtrio make it easier for Lilligant to wallbreak and allow it to overwhelm switchins such as Klinklang, Mawile, and Type: Null. In return, Lilligant can pressure the Water- and Grass-types they struggle against. Lilligant's overreliance on Leaf Storm to wallbreak effectively makes it somewhat easy to take advantage of by wallbreakers and setup sweepers like Mr. Rime, Gourgeist, and Drifblim alike. In a similar way, faster threats like Morpeko can force out Lilligant. This makes answers to these, like Type: Null, Unfezant, Kadabra, and Throh good partners; Type: Null and Unfezant can bring in Lilligant safely with U-turn while Throh deals with specially defensive walls. Finally, other wallbreakers like Falinks and Gourgeist-Super appreciate Lilligant pressuring their answers such as Mareanie, Musharna, and Unfezant and its access to Healing Wish. In return, they beat threats like Klinklang for Lilligant and can revenge kill foes that can take advantage of it when it's already locked on a move such as an opposing Quiver Dance Lilligant and Nasty Plot Galarian Mr. Mime.
