Welcome to BDPL Season IX! For the 9th iteration of the biggest tournament hosted annually by the Bangladeshi Pokémon Battlers Facebook group, we have decided to host the tournament concurrently on Smogon and Facebook. All announcements will be posted on both platforms for better accessibility.

Kindly do not sign up if you do not intend to see the tournament through the end as it ruins the experience for other players. While general inactivity will be handled in a case-by-case basis by the hosts, a mid-season replacement draft might take place if deemed necessary. Abuse of this rule by the managers will be dealt with accordingly.
The tournament will consist of two phases. The regular season will start on the 29th of July and last 7 weeks with an 8 team-round-robin phase. Managers must submit rosters prior to the deadline.
2 points are awarded to the team with most matches won for winning the week. 1 point is awarded in case of a tie. Losing awards 0 points.
Based on the points, 4 teams will qualify for the playoffs in a single elimination format. In case teams are tied in points, the win differential of each week will be taken into account. A bo3 ( 1 SV OU, 2 Captain's choice) tiebreak will be played if the former results in a tie as well.
Seeding for playoffs will be determined by points as well. Head-to-head results will be considered if there is a tie.

Each team will consist of 14 players with 8 players being of Bangladeshi origin/native Bangla speakers/previous BDPL season participants. The rest will be open to the public.
Similarly, out of the 10 starters, 6 players must be of Bangladeshi origin/native Bangla speakers/previous BDPL season participants. 12 out of the 14 drafted players must play at least one match before the playoffs begin.

Note: The tiers and team structure have been updated since the announcement (addition of 1 SV OU and 1 SV RU).
While the Tournament rules and General guidelines will be followed, player are allowed to turn the timer off and choose the server based on mutual agreement.
Signups close on Friday July 26th at 10:00 PM GMT+6.
Auction is set to take place on July 27th at 08:00 PM GMT+6.
