You'll notice that there are currently three different types of banner: Mentor, Moderator and unique banners for those who lead important aspects of the site. That's because banners are really intended to clarify who the users can contact with issues that they might have. This isn't to say that more banners wont be added, but there isn't much reason to make trophy winners clearer when they already have the trophy in their postbit.

I mean, to be fair, you could say the same about Moderators, but I agree that the distinction is nice for newer users.
