[SET COMMENTS]

Barraskewda is a strong offensive pivot, revenge killer, and late-game cleaner with powerful rain-boosted STAB moves, varied coverage, and incredible Speed tier. Flip Turn is an especially deadly move; Barraskewda can pivot out while massively damaging its checks that are not immune to Water like Zapdos. Barraskewda's other strong STAB moves in Liquidation and Aqua Jet mean that your opponent has to keep their Water-resistant Pokemon healthy so that their team isn't completely overwhelmed Barraskewda's coverage moves are mostly used as insurance against Water Absorb users like Palossand and Excadrill as well as Desolate Land users such as Heatran. Drill Run is able to OHKO Heatran, 2HKO Excadrill, and do large amounts of damage to physically defensive Toxapex that switch in. Throat Chop stops Boomburst or Hyper Voice users like Refrigerate Tapu Koko cold in their tracks and force out Ghost- and Psychic-types. Ice Fang punishes Grass-types trying to switch into Water-type attacks like Tapu Bulu. Finally, Close Combat threatens bulky Normal-types like Blissey and Porygon-2, and gives Barraskewda an offensive option against Ferrothorn.

Barraskewda is often paired with special powerhouses like Adaptability Tapu Koko, Psychic Surge Alakazam, and specially offensive Genesect, which succeed versus Pokemon that check Barraskewda like Tapu Fini, Slowbro, and Golisopod. The combination of those teammates' special prowess and Barraskewda's pivoting leads to deadly offensive cores. Barraskewda commonly finds itself on VoltTurn cores, synergizing well with Genesect, Landorus-T, and offensive Zapdos. Barraskewda also benefits from teammates that cover its Desolate Land weakness and from other Fire checks like Nihilego and Garchomp, which can punish them by setting entry hazards. Since Barraskewda's main job as a pivot and revenge killer involves a lot of switching, it benefits from entry hazard removers and slow pivots. Defensive pivots such as Swampert and Landorus-T are able to preserve momentum and set up entry hazards. softening up foes. Dauntless Shield Mew and Intimidate Zapdos are great partners because of their physical bulk, (comma) reliable recovery, Defog, and ability to scare out some of Barraskewda's sturdiest switch-ins in, Regenerator Tapu Fini and Golisopod. On Barraskewda's own team, Pokemon like Tapu Fini offer Defog, while Magic Bounce users such as Blissey, Mandibuzz, and Zapdos act as entry hazard deterrents with the option to run slow pivot moves such as Teleport, U-turn, and Volt Switch.

Choice Scarf can be used to make Adamant Barraskewda faster than the entire unboosted metagame. However, using Choice Scarf instead of Choice Band severely limits Barraskewda's KO potential, as it already outspeeds a majority of the format.

Psychic Fangs is another coverage option, but its uses are limited to only hitting Toxapex. However, it only has a small chance to 2HKO, and Prankster Recover immediately heals any significant damage.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Toxapex**: Toxapex is Barraskewda's worst nightmare, sporting sky-high physical bulk and a natural Water resistance. Its chance to burn with Scald and access to Prankster healing and status-inducing moves mean it will usually come out on top.

**Water-immune Pokemon**: Desolate Land and Abilities that grant Water immunity are able to completely kill Barraskewda's momentum.

**Bulky Water Checks**: Bulky pokemon that resist Water as well as Barraskewda's coverage options, such as Tapu Fini and Golisopod, are almost always free to switch in and heal the damage done.

**Rocky Helmet Users**: One of Barraskewda's largest weaknesses is residual damage, and Rocky Helmet users such as Mew, Tapu Fini, Swampert, and Corviknight are able to punish Barraskewda for using Flip Turn. This damage racks up over the course of the game, making Barraskewda less of a threat.

Not a QC but about the set, I think Drill Run should be definitely mentioned somewhere-- I personally think it should be the second option in slot 4 after CC. It OHKO Heatran Desolate Land, 2HKO Victini Desolate Land, hit a weakened Toxapex, (and few WA mons like Excadrill), all of that in a single slot, so yeah

regarding writing, I think overall it has the right idea but we could stress more on how much powerful its Water attacks are, especially Flip Turn. Maybe something along the lines of "Flip Turn is especially a deadly move; Barraskewda can pivot out while massively damage its checks that are not immune to Water, like Zapdos." right after the first line? Also, I think one paragraph should just a single block

Flip Turn is especially a deadly move; Barraskewda can pivot out while massively damage its checks that are not immune to Water, like Zapdos. Access to other strong water moves like Liquidation and Aqua Jet mean that your opponent has to be weary of keeping resists healthy, so that their team isn't completely overwhelmed by your high-powered rain-boosted STABs.

Drill Run is able to score an OHKO on Heatran, a 2hko Victini and Excadrill, and do large amounts of damage to physically defensive Toxapex that switch in.
implemented all, Thanks for the feedback LBDC !

Paragraph 1:
Barraskewda takes the form of a strong offensive pivot as well as a devastating revenge killer and late-game cleaner with powerful physical rain-boosted STABs and varied physical movepool. This pokemon's incredible speed tier allows it to outspeed the large majority of the unboosted metagame, allowing it to exert heavy pressure on just about everything that doesn't resist its water type attacks. Add something about how Flip Turn in particular enables Barraskewda to heavily dent would-be switchins who aren't immune while preserving momentum.

Access to strong physical coverage options like Close Combat, Drill Run, and Throat Chop are mostly used as insurance against Water Absorbers like Palossand and Excadrill as well as Desolate Land users such as Heatran and Victini. Drill Run is able to score an OHKO on Heatran, a 2hko Victini and Excadrill, and do large amounts of damage to physically defensive Toxapex that switch in. Throat Chop gives Barraskewda the option to stop boomburst users like Aerilate Noivern cold in their tracks, as well as forcing ghost and psychic-types out with the threat of supereffective damage. Finally, Ice Fang punishes grass-types like Tapu Bulu that would normally switch in to resist a water type attack.

Maximizing its physical attack and speed with 252 EVs in each stat with a Jolly nature allow it to optimize its damage output while retaining its threatening speed tier.

This is a little too faceted for something that's meant to be a single paragraph. I suggest condensing the second paragraph about the slash moves into one or two sentences you can append to the initial paragraph.

Paragraph 2:
Barraskewda acts as a great teammate to offensive threats who can easily take advantage of attempts to switch into it. mons that struggle to overcome special walls. For this reason, Barraskewda is paired with special powerhouses like Sheer Force Kyurem, Aerilate Noivern, Sheer Force Spectrier, and specially offensive Genesect variants that succeed versus Pokemon that Barraskewda has a hard time breaking physical walls that give Barraskewda trouble like Tapu Fini, Slowbro, and Golisopod. Regenerator Doublade The combination between these pokemon's superior special attack and Barraskewda's pivot-heavy physical offense lead to deadly offensive cores. Add something about offensive VoltTurn cores with pokemon like Genesect, Victini, and offensive Zapdos.
(I noticed that you didn't mention how any of Barraskewda's teammates help it overcome its Desolate Land user (Volcarona, Heatran) weakness at all here--perhaps worth considering?)

Since Barraskewda's main job as a pivot and revenge killer involves a lot of switching, it benefits from bulky teammates that can remove or prevent hazards, increasing the pokemon's longevity, as well as slow pivots that allow it to be sent out without any risk of an opponent's attack. Add something about how defensive VoltTurners like Swampert and Landorus-Therian are able to get up hazards while also preserving momentum. Dauntless Shield Mew and Intimidate Zapdos are great partners because of their physical bulk and access to recovery and hazard removal, as well as their ability to scare out some of Barraskewda's sturdiest switchins, those being Poison Heal Tapu Fini and Poison Heal Golisopod. On the specially defensive side, mons like Poison Heal Tapu Fini are able to clear the field from hazards with defog, while Magic Bounce users such as Blissey, Mandibuzz, and Zapdos acts as a natural hazard deterrent with the option to run Teleport to return Barraskewda to the battlefield. (Perhaps rephrase the end of the last sentence to something about pivoting moves in general?)

Same thing here: I think it's worth combining the paragraph about offensive teammates with the one about defensive ones so things are more condensed.

Choice Scarf can be used to guarantee a faster speed tier than the entire unboosted metagame, while leaving enough wiggle room for Barraskewda to run an adamant nature. However, using Scarf instead of Band severely limits this mon's KO potential, as it benefits strongly from the 1.5x Choice Band physical boost, and it already outspeeds a majority of the format without the extra speed buff.

Psychic Fangs is another option that can be run in the 4th move slot, but its uses are limited to only hitting Toxapex for super effective damage. However, because of that mon's superior physical defense and compatibility with prankster, there is only a small chance that Psychic Fangs will even 2hko, and most damage done to the mon will be healed immediately, with the threat of being statused in retaliation.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Poison Heal Water Types like Tapu Fini and Golisopod**: Poison Heal users that resist Barraskewda's main water STABs (I think this is where you should mention Tapu Fini and Golisopod instead, but I'm not 100% sure about that) as well as its coverage options are almost always free to switch in and heal off the damage done with ease, while threatening to set up hazards or chip back.
**Desolate Land and Water-Immune ability users**: Desolate Land and Water-Immune ability users are able to completely kill Barraskewda's momentum by cancelling out its strong STAB attacks and forcing it to manually switch out, completely bricking any momentum that the mon gained.
**Toxapex**: Toxapex is Barraskewda's worst nightmare, sporting sky-high physical defenses and a natural water resistance. This, combined with the fact that Toxapex reliably runs scald, which has a chance to completely crush Barraskewda's offensive presence, and prankster sets that give it access to priority healing mean that in most instances, pex will come out as the mon on top.

**Rocky Helmet Users**: Add something about how Barraskewda can rack up a lot of residual damage from repeatedly attacking into users like Mew, Tapu Fini, Swampert, and Corviknight, even from users that don't resist its Water-type attacks.

Updated and Implemented, lemme know what you think. I wasn't 100% sure about what to say when talking about Desoland counters in teammates, so I mentioned fire resists like nihi and garchomp and how they can punish Volc / Heatran by threatening them out and setting up rocks.

implemented GP and updated for UQC, sorry that took so long.

I disagreed with removing mentions of desoland in the "water immune" section since desoland / water immune abils have specific niches, so I added a mention of Desolate Land at the beginning of that section. The rest was kept as recommended by GP.

Ready for UQC (sorry again lol)

Barraskewda is a strong offensive pivot, revenge killer, and late-game cleaner with powerful rain-boosted STAB moves, varied coverage, and incredible Speed tier. Flip Turn is an especially deadly move; Barraskewda can pivot out while massively damaging its checks that are not immune to Water like Swampert Zapdos. Barraskewda's other strong STAB moves in Liquidation and Aqua Jet mean that your opponent has to keep their Water-resistant Pokemon healthy so that their team isn't completely overwhelmed. Barraskewda's coverage moves are mostly used as insurance against Water Absorb users like Palossand and Excadrill as well as Desolate Land users such as Heatran. (you should probably move the close combat sentence so that it's the first thing you talk about. Close Combat is the first move slashed, so as the most important/viable move it should be the one mentioned before anything else. Also, the main appeal of Close Combat is that it hits steel-types in general: Heatran, Ferrothorn, and Cobalion are all threatened by it.)

There are several things that need work here, but they shouldn't take too long to correct. Once they're fixed I have no problem giving this my approval.

Tuthur I am ready to take this over, what's the best workflow for that? Should I just copy the OP down to this comment, and start treating this like the parent-level corrections, or is there a more proper way to do it?

Just start a new thread, copy/paste the op and add your name to the writers (leave berry there though). This thread will be locked and moved to archives.
