UU Barraskewda [QC 3/3] GP [2/2]

:ss/Barraskewda:

[OVERVIEW]

Barraskewda's high Speed tier lets it outspeed threats like Thundurus and Keldeo, and alongside its decent Attack stat, gives it a niche as a fast wallbreaker. Under rain, Barraskewda is a powerful wallbreaker, outspeeding the whole tier and wiping out defensive Pokemon like Galarian Slowbro, Celesteela, and even Water-resistant foes like Primarina. Its excellent coverage allows it to bypass would-be checks like Amoonguss, Tapu Bulu, Salamence, and Zarude. Barraskewda is also an effective pivot with Heavy-Duty Boots thanks to its high Speed tier and Flip Turn, which help it wear down opposing teams and form a VoltTurn core with Pokemon like Zarude and Rotom-H. However, Barraskewda is very frail and cannot switch into many Pokemon, requiring heavy pivot support or double switches to get in on the field safely. If running a Choice Band, Barraskewda is very prediction reliant and can be taken advantage of by Water-resistant foes such as Tangrowth and Rotom-W, while Heavy-Duty Boots Barraskewda is quite weak and forced out by threats it cannot deal sufficient damage to, like Salamence, Amoonguss, and Tangrowth. Barraskewda also struggles to fit all the moves it wants, meaning it ends up walled by Pokemon such as Tangrowth if it forgoes Poison Jab or Keldeo if it drops Psychic Fangs. Barraskewda faces competition from other Water-type wallbreakers like Keldeo and Starmie, which have much better bulk, less struggles with fitting coverage, and are less reliant on rain or an item to wallbreak.

name: All-out Attacker

move 2: Ice Fang

move 4: Poison Jab / Psychic Fangs
item: Choice Band / Heavy-Duty Boots
ability: Swift Swim
nature: Adamant

[SET COMMENTS]

Liquidation is Barraskewda's strongest and most spammable attack, dealing solid damage to neutral targets like Galarian Slowbro and Celesteela. Ice Fang nails Dragon-types like Salamence and Noivern and Grass-types like Amoonguss and Zarude. Flip Turn allows Barraskewda to gain momentum by pivoting against predicted switch-ins like Tangrowth. The last move slot is dependent on what Barraskewda wants to beat. Poison Jab is able to KO Grass-types like Tapu Bulu and Assault Vest Tangrowth more reliably than Ice Fang, although it can only 2HKO the latter with Choice Band. It also has handles Azumarill and Primarina. Psychic Fangs is another option that helps Barraskewda super effectively damage switch-ins like Amoonguss, Kommo-o, and Buzzwole, notably 2HKOing the former two with Choice Band. It also helps Barraskewda check Keldeo, a huge threat to rain teams. Close Combat is Barraskewda's best option to damage Pokemon like Gastrodon, Seismitoad, and Rotom-W, which take little from any of Barraskewda's attacks, while also hitting Chansey and Zarude super effectively. Choice Band boosts Barraskewda's wallbreaking power tremendously, letting it 2HKO many walls like Amoonguss, Celesteela, and even Water-resistant foes like Noivern under rain. Choice Band should be primarily used on rain teams to take advantage of rain-boosted Liquidation, while Heavy-Duty Boots is more desirable on VoltTurn teams. An Adamant nature should be used, as Barraskewda naturally outspeeds nearly every Pokemon in the tier. A Jolly nature is an option to outspeed Noivern outside of rain if the team is weak to it, but Noivern isn't too common.

Pelipper is a great partner on rain teams, setting rain and wearing down Grass-types like Tangrowth with Hurricane. It also can clear entry hazards with Defog, preventing Barraskewda from being worn down, and bring in Barraskewda safely with U-turn. Other Pokemon found on rain teams like Kingdra, Keldeo, and Seismitoad appreciate Barraskewda muscling through defensive answers like Chansey and Celesteela for them, and they are able to deal with Pokemon such as Salamence, Buzzwole, and Tangrowth in return. Kingdra and Keldeo are also able to help wear down Grass-types like Amoonguss for Barraskewda to KO more easily, while Seismitoad acts as an Electric-type immunity for rain teams and can provide Stealth Rock support to wear down Pokemon like Rotom-W easier. Thundurus-T is another wallbreaker on rain teams that appreciates Barraskewda being able to revenge kill threats like Mienshao and Nihilego and specially defensive walls like Chansey; in return it can dispatch bulky Water-types like Volcanion and Milotic. Entry hazard support from setters like Nihilego and Jirachi can wear down checks like Celesteela into 2HKO range of a Choice Band-boosted Liquidation. Pivots commonly found on VoltTurn teams like Zarude and Rotom-H are great teammates for Heavy-Duty Boots Barraskewda. Zarude can bring Barraskewda in on Fire-types like Moltres and Rotom-H and handle bulky Water-types like Seismitoad and Gastrodon, while Rotom-H is able to remove Grass-types like Amoonguss and Tangrowth and also deal with Buzzwole for Barraskewda.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============
Aqua Jet can be used to pick off a weakened Choice Scarf Krookodile or Lycanroc-D, but Barraskewda already struggles to fit more relevant coverage options like Poison Jab and Close Combat.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Bulky Water-types**: Bulky Water-types such as Seismitoad, Volcanion, and Milotic are problematic for Barraskewda, as the former two's Water immunity and the latter's resistance and high natural bulk allow them to stomach any of Barraskewda's attacks. They can either cripple it with Toxic or deal heavy damage to it. Rotom-W takes any of Barraskewda's attacks and KOes it with Volt Switch, but it cannot switch into Barraskewda under rain.

**Grass-types**: Grass-types with Regenerator like Amoonguss and Tangrowth can take any of Barraskewda's attacks and easily heal it off; they also force Barraskewda to lock into an undersiable move like Ice Fang or Psychic Fangs or Ice Fang, which leaves it vulnerable to other threats like Aegislash. However, Amoonguss is 2HKOed by Ice Fang. Choice Scarf Zarude is able to outspeed and revenge kill Barraskewda if rain is not up.

**Revenge Killers**: If rain is not up, Barraskewda is vulnerable to being revenge killed by Choice Scarf users such as Mienshao, Zarude, and Krookodile; priority users like Lycanroc-D and Zygarde-10% can also pick off a weakened Barraskewda.

**Residual Damage**: Choice Band Barraskewda is very vulnerable to entry hazard damage. Rocky Helmet chip damage from Pokemon like Amoonguss, Kommo-o, and Tangrowth also wears down Barraskewda, compromising its longevity and ability to act as a wallbreaker.

[OVERVIEW]
-With the highest natural speed in UU, getting the jump on threats like Noivern and Thundurus, as well as a decent attack stat, Barraskewda has carved out a niche as a fast, hard hitting offensive pivot to use in the metagame.
-Its ability to pivot around with Flip Turn allows Barraskewda to find itself on common VoltTurn teams, using its high speed and solid attack to pivot around the opponents team, slowly wearing them down while gaining momentum. It has a great ability to bring in common Pokemon like Scizor and Rotom-H on its checks like Tangrowth and Tapu Bulu while they can bring it on their own answers like Moltres and Rhyperior, forming a momentum vortex core.
-Furthermore, Barraskewda is a devastatingly powerful wallbreaker under rain, outspeeding everything in the tier and wiping out defensive Pokemon like Mew and Celesteela with its powerful Choice Banded Liquidation.
-Its excellent coverage in Psychic Fangs, Poison Jab, Ice Fang, and Close Combat allows it to bypass would-be checks to it like Amoonguss, Tapu Bulu, Salamence, and Zarude, making it tough to face until all of its moves are scouted.
i'd def downplay barra a bit more, you're making it sound like an incredible wallbreaker that gets momentum super easily like scizor, when in reality it needs to worry abt chip damage from rocks + helm a lot more since it can't recover and absolutely cannot afford to lose its item, unlike scizor.
-However, Barraskewda is very frail, meaning it cannot switch in on many Pokemon and thus requires heavy pivot support to get in on the field safely or must capitalize on double switches to get in without a teammate fainting.
-Both of Barraskewda's sets have issues their own unique issues as well. Its Heavy-Duty Boots pivot set is quite weak, not being able to deal sufficient damage to threats like Salamence, Amoonguss, and Tangrowth, thus forcing it out often. move this to OO On the other hand, its Choice Band set is very prediction reliant, as it can be taken advantage of by being locked into a move thanks to the numerous water resists in the tier such as Tangrowth and Rotom-W. Both sets also struggle to fit all the moves it wants, meaning that Barraskewda ends up being walled by many Pokemon who it cannot hit, such as Tapu Bulu if it forgoes Poison Jab. mence without ice fang is more relevant
-On non rain oriented teams, Barraskewda faces competition from other Water-type breakers like Keldeo and Starmie, who have much better bulk, less struggles with fitting coverage, and are less reliant on rain or an item to wallbreak.
mention how rain is a hard playstyle to build around, which is the main reason barra isn't very good.

[SET COMMENTS]

Paragraph 1
-Liquidation is Barraskewda's strongest and most spammable attack, dealing heavy damage to many neutral resists like Scizor and Celesteela.
- Psychic Fangs is near mandatory coverage as it helps Barraskewda damage normal switch-ins like Amoonguss, Kommo-o, and Buzzwole, notably 2HKOing the former two on the switch if equipped with a Choice Band.
-Flip Turn allows Barraskewda to gain momentum by pivoting out on predicted switch-ins like Tangrowth and Buzzwole into a teammate that can KO them.
-The last move slot is dependent on what you want Barraskewda to beat. Poison Jab is able to KO Grass-types like Tapu Bulu and Assault Vest Tangrowth, though it can only 2HKO the latter if equipped with a Choice Band.
- Ice Fang is another option that allows Barraskewda to nail Dragon-types like Salamence and Noivern while still retaining coverage for the Grass-types.
-Close Combat is Barraskewda's best option to damage Pokemon like Gastrodon, Seismitoad, and Volcanion Zarude who are immune to Barraskewda's Water-type attacks, and has the added benefit of hitting Chansey and Zarude super effectively.
-Choice Band boosts Barrskewda's breaking power tremendously, being able to 2HKO many walls like Amoonguss, Kommo-o, and Celesteela. mention how it needs to predict right, though This should be primarily utilized on rain teams to boost its breaking power to high levels, being able to 2HKO walls like Celesteela and even Water-type resists like Noivern with Liquidation.
-Alternatively, thanks to Barraskewda's high speed tier it can utilize a Heavy-Duty Boots pivot set to act as a strong, fast pivot.
-Barraskewda's nature depends on what team it is on. Adamant should be run on rain oriented teams alongside Choice Band to act as a powerful wallbreaker while still outspeeding everything in the tier thanks to Swift Swim, while Jolly should be run on Barraskewda's Heavy-Duty Boots set to let it outspeed Noivern and either pivot on it or KO it with Ice Fang. Adamant on rain and Jolly otherwise. also the noiv mention is really out of place here, be careful with that

Paragraph 2
-Barraskewda best fits on offensive teams that appreciate its high speed and pivoting ability.
-Thus, pivots commonly found on VoltTurn teams like Scizor, Zarude, and Rotom-H are all great teammates. Scizor can bring Barraskewda in on Fire-types like Moltres and Rotom-H that force it out while Zarude helps answer bulky Water-types like Seismitoad and Gastrodon for it. Rotom-H is able to cook Grass-types like Tapu Bulu, Amoonguss, and Tangrowth while also dealing with Buzzwole for Barraskewda, with Barraskewda being able to lure them in and pivot out with Flip Turn.
-Entry hazard support from the likes of Nihilego and Nidoqueen can help wear down checks to Barraskewda for it to power through them easier. For example, Stealth Rock turns a roll to 2HKO on defensive Celesteela to a guaranteed 2HKO when holding a Choice Band.
-Since Barraskewda shines best on rain teams, a mandatory partner for it is Politoed, who can set the rain and spread status with Toxic, whittling down Pokemon like Tangrowth and allowing Barraskewda to break through them easier
-Other Pokemon found on rain teams like Kingdra, Mantine, and Seismitoad all appreciate Barraskewda muscling through defensive answers for them like Chansey, Sylveon, and Celesteela and are able to deal with Pokemon like Salamence, Buzzwole, and Tapu Bulu in return.
mention seis as the rocks setter for rain
mention thundy-t as a teammate for rain cuz elec immune
mention teammates that deal with amoong and tang e.g rotom-h, which u can tie into the pivot point. sd scizor also fits there.
mention teammates that deal with mence, like nihi and av tang

- Barraskewda can run a Life Orb on its offensive sets to have extra power while not being locked into any of its moves, but this makes Barraskewda prone to getting worn down extremely quickly due to its lack of longevity. you die extremely fast between lo recoil + rocks + helm
-Aqua Jet can be used to pick off a weakened Choice Scarf Krookodile, Lycanroc-D, or Scizor, but Barraskewda already struggles to fit more relevant coverage like Poison Jab or Close Combat and thus isn't advised to be used.

**Bulky Water-types**: Bulky Water-types such as Seismitoad, Gastrodon, and Volcanion all pose problems for Barraskewda, as their water immunity and high natural bulk allows them to stomach any of Barraskewda's attacks and either cripple it with Toxic or deal heavy damage to it in return. Rotom-W takes any of Barraskewda's attacks and can KO it with Volt Switch.

**Grass-types**: If not equipped with a Choice Band or carrying necessary coverage, Grass-types like Tangrowth, Amoonguss, Tapu Bulu, and Zarude can all pose a problem for Barraskewda, being able to take any of its hits and KOing in return or outspeeding if not under rain and KOing back in the case of Choice Scarf Zarude. However, all these Pokemon must first scout to see if it has coverage like Poison Jab for them as well as if it is holding a Choice Band, for their ability to answer Barraskewda becomes a lot more limited. phys def tang doesn't really care abt pjab so mention that

**Revenge Killers**: If rain is not up, Barraskewda is prone to being revenge killed by numerous threats, including but not limited to Choice Scarf users like Mienshao, Diggersby, Zarude, and Krookodile as well as priority users like Lycanroc-D and Conkeldurr that can pick off weakened variants.

i'd mention how residual damage like hazards + helmet chip from amoong and tang really worns it down over time

i tried to focus only on qc changes as much as it hurts my gper heart, hope it helps. also nuked boots set cuz i see no reason to use it out of rain, whereas cb can work out of it.

AM check implemented, most of it was good stuff. Still waiting on the full verdict on boots before changing it

[OVERVIEW]

Like band set in general just try to tone this overview down a little, it makes skewda sound a lot better than it is outside of rain.

-With the highest natural speed tier in UU, getting the jump on threats like Noivern and Thundurus, as well as a decent attack stat, Barraskewda has carved out a niche as a fast offensive pivot in the metagame. We'r deslashing Jolly so it won't outspeed Noivern anymore, so find some other example that would fit nicely here eg. Nihilego.
-Its ability to pivot around with Flip Turn in conjunction with its high speed tier allows Barraskewda to find itself on common VoltTurn teams, where it is utlized to pivot around the opponent's team and wear them down slowly while still gaining momentum. It has a great ability to bring in common Pokemon like Scizor and Rotom-H on its answers like Tangrowth and Tapu Bulu while they can bring it on their own answers like Moltres and Rhyperior, forming a momentum vortex core. This ventures heavily into team options territory as opposed to an overview, so would just cut it off after the Bulu bit.
-Furthermore, Barraskewda is a powerful wallbreaker under rain, outspeeding everything in the tier and wiping out defensive Pokemon like Mew and Celesteela with its powerful Choice Banded Liquidation. It'd be nice to give a few examples that actually resist water here, eg. the fact that you can 2hko Rotom-wash under rain.
-Its excellent coverage in Psychic Fangs, Poison Jab, Ice Fang, and Close Combat allows it to bypass would-be checks to it like Amoonguss, Tapu Bulu, Salamence, and Zarude.
Its Heavy-Duty Boots pivot set is quite weak, not being able to deal sufficient damage to threats like Salamence, This bit aint true now we've edited the moves slashings, since you can OHKO offensive mence as long as you got in safely, and have a solid chance to OHKO fat mence too. Amoonguss, and Tangrowth, thus being forced out often. On the other hand, its Choice Band set is very prediction reliant, as it can be taken advantage of by being locked into a move thanks to the numerous water resists in the tier such as Tangrowth and Rotom-W. Both sets also struggle to fit all the moves it wants, meaning that Barraskewda ends up being walled by many Pokemon who it cannot hit, such as Tangrowth if it forgoes Poison Jab or Salamence if it drops Ice Fang. We are making ice fang a move of its own on the set now, so you will probably want to update this, eg. state that it can't revenge kill keldeo if its not psychic fangs.
-On non rain oriented teams, Barraskewda faces competition from other Water-type breakers like Keldeo and Starmie, who have much better bulk, less struggles with fitting coverage, and are less reliant on rain or an item to wallbreak. Additionally, rain itself is a rather niche playstyle in the metagame, causing Barraskewda to not find a spot on many teams.

Ice Fang is pretty important really because you don't want to be permanently walled by Salamence. We're unslashing Jolly and Close Combat, but keep the mentions in set comments for both of these.

[SET COMMENTS]

Paragraph 1
-Liquidation is Barraskewda's strongest and most spammable attack, dealing solid damage to neutral resists well they aren't a resist if its neutral like Scizor and Celesteela.
- Psychic Fangs is near mandatory coverage as it helps Barraskewda super effectviely damage switch-ins like Amoonguss, Kommo-o, and Buzzwole, notably 2HKOing the former two on the switch if equipped with a Choice Band. Edit this to clarify that its now just a backslash. An important target to mention is Keldeo, which is absolutely terrifying to your own rain team, and just mention that its stronger than ice fang versus these targets.
-Close Combat is Barraskewda's best option to damage Pokemon like Gastrodon, Seismitoad, and Zarude who take little from any of Barraskewda's attacks while also having the added benefit of hitting Chansey super effectively. This is just a mention now but an important calc to mention is that it cleanly 2hko's rotom-wash when cb, and comes very close without.
-Choice Band boosts Barrskewda's breaking power tremendously, being able to 2HKO many walls like Amoonguss, Kommo-o, and Celesteela. This should be primarily utilized on rain teams to boost its breaking power to high levels, being able to 2HKO walls like Celesteela and even Water-type resists like Noivern with Liquidation. However, it is extremely prediction reliant and being locked into the wrong move allows Barraskewda to be taken advantage of.
-Alternatively, thanks to Barraskewda's high speed tier it can utilize a Heavy-Duty Boots pivot set to act as a strong, fast pivot. You'll want to make it clear that this is more desirable on non rain teams, in the same way you made it clear that you'd want cb on rain.
-Barraskewda's nature depends on what team it is on. Adamant should be run on rain oriented teams alongside Choice Band to act as a powerful wallbreaker while still outspeeding everything in the tier thanks to Swift Swim, while Jolly should be run on Barraskewda's Heavy-Duty Boots set to outspeed Noivern. Noivern isn't really a huge thing atm so we're unslashing Jolly. Just mention it as an option here to be able to outspeed noivern if your team is weak to it.

Nihilego also is able to deal with Pokemon like Salamence and Noivern for Barraskewda as well. These aren't really issues anymore now ice fang is guuaranteed onthe set, but you can talk about it threatening the fat grasses instead!
-Since Barraskewda shines best on rain teams, a mandatory partner for it is Politoed, who can set the rain and spread status with Toxic, whittling down Pokemon like Tangrowth and allowing Barraskewda to break through them easier. I would reorder this section to put the rain stuff first, and then talk about the non rain teams after, since you've just claimd that its where it fits best. A nice thing you can mention is the possibility of Politoed producing entry points for skewda with Hypnosis.
Seismitoad also acts as an electric immunity for rain teams and can provide support with Stealth Rock to wear down Pokemon like Rotom-W easier. Another neat thing you can mention here is in particular Kingdra and Keldeo being able to wear down shared checks in the Fat grasses, making skewda much more threatening as they'll be much more likely to be in 2HKO range of liquidation.
-Thundurus-T is another wallbreaker on rain that appreciates Barrskewda being able to revenge kill threats to it like Mienshao and Nihilego and can dispatch bulky Water-types like Volcanion and Milotic in return. I'd much rather run Thundurus-I on rain personally, but there is logic to running Therian with Skewda as its capable of dealing with Nihilego and Keldeo. But Thundurus-T still gives horrible entry points to threats like Keldeo on Rain. I would just mention both and mention the upsides and downsides of therian as an alternative, eg. more power, skewda can offensively cover these threats.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============
- Barraskewda can run a Life Orb on its offensive sets to have extra power while not being locked into any of its moves, but this makes Barraskewda prone to getting worn down extremely quickly due to its lack of longevity. I have to agree with Band here that the extra chip damage just seems completely impossible to deal with. I'd much rather run mystic water than life orb if i was doing this, which you could consider putting here if you like, but I'm not fussed either way if its included or not.
-Aqua Jet can be used to pick off a weakened Choice Scarf Krookodile, Lycanroc-D, or Scizor, but Barraskewda already struggles to fit more relevant coverage like Poison Jab or Close Combat and thus isn't advised to be used.

Checks and Counters
===================

Rotom-W takes any of Barraskewda's attacks and can KO it with Volt Switch. mention that rotom-w cannot switch into skewda safely in rain however.

**Grass-types**: If not carrying necessary coverage, Grass-types like Tangrowth, Amoonguss, Tapu Bulu, and Zarude can all pose a problem for Barraskewda, being able to take any of its hits and KOing in return or outspeeding if not under rain and KOing back in the case of Choice Scarf Zarude. However, all these Pokemon must first scout to see if it has coverage like Poison Jab, for their ability to answer Barraskewda becomes a lot more limited, though Physically Defensive Tangrowth does not care about a Choice Banded Poison Jab even. You should probably also comment on the fact that while Barraskewda can 2HKO Amoonguss with Ice Fang and threaten Tang, thanks to regen they can heal this off decently and force barraskewda to be locked into a less desirable move If you mention this can comment on the fact that Psychic fangs will leave amoonguss in range of being 2hkoed by liquidation next time though.

**Revenge Killers**: If rain is not up, Barraskewda is prone to being revenge killed by numerous threats like Choice Scarf users such as Mienshao, Zarude, and Krookodile as well as priority users like Lycanroc-D and Conkeldurr that can pick off weakened variants.

**Residual Damage**: Entry hazard damage can pile up over time as Barraskewda continuously pivots onto the field. Also, Rocky Helmet Chip from Pokemon like Amoonguss and Tangrowth also wear down Barraskewda, compromising its ability to act as a wallbreaker.

[OVERVIEW]

-Thanks to Barraskewda's high Speed tier, outspeeding threats like Thundurus and Keldeo, alongside a decent Attack stat, Barraskewda has a niche as a fast offensive pivot in the metagame. this is kinda weird grammatically, not a big deal but something like "Barraskewda's high Speed tier that lets it outspeed threats ilke Thundurus and Keldeo alongside its decent Attack stat gives it a niche as a fast offensive pivot." would flow a bit better, ofc feel free to word it how you see fit
-Barraskewda is a powerful wallbreaker under rain, outspeeding everything in the tier and wiping out defensive Pokemon like Mew, Celesteela, and even Water-resists like Rotom-W when rain is up with its powerful Choice Banded Liquidation.
-Its excellent coverage in Psychic Fangs, Poison Jab, Ice Fang, and Close Combat allows it to bypass would-be checks to it like Amoonguss, Tapu Bulu, Salamence, and Zarude.

Paragraph 1
-Liquidation is Barraskewda's strongest and most spammable attack, dealing solid damage to neutral targets like Scizor and Celesteela.
- Ice Fang is allows Barraskewda to nail Dragon-types like Salamence and Noivern while still retaining coverage for Grass-types like Amoonguss and Zarude.
-Flip Turn allows Barraskewda to gain momentum by pivoting out on predicted switch-ins like Tangrowth and Buzzwole into a teammate that can KO them.
-The last move slot is dependent on what you want Barraskewda to beat. Poison Jab is able to KO Grass-types like Tapu Bulu and Assault Vest Tangrowth more reliably than Ice Fang, though it can only 2HKO the latter if equipped with a Choice Band. it's also your best move for zarude and primarina w/o cc which is no longer slashed so
-Psychic Fangs is helps Barraskewda super effectively damage switch-ins like Amoonguss, Kommo-o, and Buzzwole, notably 2HKOing the former two on the switch if equipped with a Choice Band. It also helps Barraskewda check Keldeo, an otherwise huge threat to Rain teams.
-Close Combat is Barraskewda's best option to damage Pokemon like Gastrodon and Seismitoad who take little from any of Barraskewda's attacks while also having the added benefit of hitting Chansey super effectively. Close Combat also hits Zarude the hardest out of Barraskewda's moves and even cleanly 2HKOs Rotom-W with a Choice Band, helping Barraskewda bypass one of its most common checks
-Choice Band boosts Barraskewda's breaking power tremendously, being able to 2HKO many walls like Amoonguss and Kommo-o. This should be primarily utilized on rain teams to boost its breaking power to high levels, being able to 2HKO walls like Celesteela and even Water-type resists like Noivern with Liquidation. However, it is extremely prediction reliant outside of rain (in general rain-boosted flip turns / liquidations fuck up the whole tier outside of tang) and being locked into the wrong move allows Barraskewda to be taken advantage of.
-Alternatively, thanks to Barraskewda's high speed tier it can utilize a Heavy-Duty Boots pivot set to act as a strong, fast pivot. This item is more desirable on VoltTurn and other offensive based teams rather than Choice Band.
-An Adamant should be used as Barraskewda naturally outspeeds nearly every Pokemon in the tier, allowing it to hit harder while still retaining the jump on the rest of the tier. Jolly is an option to outspeed Noivern if the team is weak to it, but Noivern isn't too common and thus Adamant is preferred.

Paragraph 2
-Since Barraskewda shines best on rain teams, a mandatory it isn't mandatory, skewda works fine on non-rain teams. just mention that poli is very good with it and that it loves rain a lot. partner for it is Politoed, who can set the rain and spread status with Toxic, whittling down Pokemon like Tangrowth and allowing Barraskewda to break through them easier. It can also put opposing Pokemon to sleep with Hypnosis, allowing Barraskewda to have a free entry into the field.
-Other Pokemon found on rain teams like Kingdra, Keldeo, Mantine, and Seismitoad all appreciate Barraskewda muscling through defensive answers for them like Chansey, Sylveon, and Celesteela and are able to deal with Pokemon like Salamence, Buzzwole, and Tangrowth in return. Kingdra, Keldeo, and Mantine are also able to help wear down Grass-types like Tangrowth for Barraskewda to KO easier. Meanwhile, Seismitoad also acts as an Electric immunity for rain teams and can provide support with Stealth Rock to wear down Pokemon like Rotom-W easier.
-Thundurus-T is another wallbreaker on rain that appreciates Barrskewda being able to revenge kill threats to it like Mienshao and Nihilego and can dispatch bulky Water-types like Volcanion and Milotic in return. Thundurus-I also appreciates Barraskewda removing specially defensive walls like Chansey and can outspeed and remove Keldeo unlike Thundurus-T, greatly beenfitting the Rain team.
-Pivots commonly found on VoltTurn teams like Scizor, Zarude, and Rotom-H are also great teammates for Heavy-Duty Boots Barraskewda. Scizor can bring Barraskewda in on Fire-types like Moltres and Rotom-H that force it out while Zarude helps answer bulky Water-types like Seismitoad and Gastrodon for it. Rotom-H is able to cook Grass-types like Amoonguss and Tangrowth while also dealing with Buzzwole for Barraskewda, with Barraskewda being able to lure them in and pivot out with Flip Turn.
Nihilego also is able to deal with Pokemon like Tangrowth and Amoonguss.

===================

Rotom-W takes any of Barraskewda's attacks and can KO it with Volt Switch, but cannot switch into it under Rain. id replace the gastro mention with like milotic or something just so that you don't have to turn this point into "Water-immune Pokemon"

**Grass-types**: Grass-types with Regenerator like Amoonguss and Tangrowth can take any of Barraskewda's attacks and easily heal it off, forcing it to be locked into an undesirable move like Ice Fang or Psychic Fangs if it wants to damage it them, leaving Barraskewda vulnerable to other threats. Amoonguss is at risk of being 2HKOd by Ice Fang however. Choice Scarf Zarude is able to outspeed and revenge kill Barraskewda if Rain is not up.

Also, Rocky Helmet chip damage from Pokemon like Amoonguss and Tangrowth also wears down Barraskewda, compromising its ability to act as a wallbreaker.

[OVERVIEW]

Barraskewda's high speed tier that lets it outspeed threats like Thundurus and Keldeo alongside its decent Attack stat gives it a nich as a fast offensive pivot. Under rain, Barraskewda is a powerful wallbreaker, outspeeding everything in the tier and wiping out defensive Pokemon like Mew, Celesteela, and even Water-resists like Rotom-W when rain is up with its powerful Choice Banded Liquidation. Its excellent coverage in Psychic Fangs, Poison Jab, Ice Fang, and Close Combat allows it to bypass would-be checks to it like Amoonguss, Tapu Bulu, Salamence, and Zarude. Furthermore, Barraskewda can utilize a Heavy-Duty Boots pivot set thanks to its high speed tier and Flip Turn, where it is able to pivot around an opponents team and slowly wear them down while forming a momentum vortex core with common Pokemon like Scizor and Rotom-H. However, Barraskewda is very frail, meaning it cannot switch in on many Pokemon and thus requires heavy pivot support to get in on the field safely or must capitalize on double switches to get in without a teammate fainting. Additionally, both of Barraskewda's sets have their own unique issues as well. Its Choice Band set is very prediction reliant, as it can be taken advantage of by being locked into a move thanks to the numerous water resists in the tier such as Tangrowth and Rotom-W. On the other hand, its Heavy-Duty Boots pivot set is quite weak, not being able to deal sufficient damage to threats like Salamence, Amoonguss, and Tangrowth, thus being forced out often. Both sets also struggle to fit all the moves it wants, meaning that Barraskewda ends up being walled by many Pokemon who it cannot damage, such as Tangrowth if it forgoes Poison Jab or Keldeo if it drops Psychic Fangs. Using the word sets doesn't make sense when you've compressed it all onto one set. You should be referring to the items CB and HDB. You've done this over the last few sentences so fix that. On non rain oriented teams, Barraskewda faces competition from other Water-type breakers like Keldeo and Starmie, who have much better bulk, less struggles with fitting coverage, and are less reliant on rain or an item to wallbreak. Additionally, rain itself is a rather niche playstyle in the metagame, causing Barraskewda to not find a spot on many teams.

Scizor can bring Barraskewda in on Fire-types like Moltres and Rotom-H that force it out, while Zarude helps answer bulky Water-types like Seismitoad and Gastrodon for it. Rotom-H is able to cook remove Grass-types like Amoonguss and Tangrowth while also dealing with Buzzwole for Barraskewda, with it being able to lure them in and pivot out with Flip Turn. Entry hazard support from the likes of Nihilego and Nidoqueen can help wear down checks to Barraskewda for it to power through them easier. For instance, Celesteela is brought into 2HKO range of a Choice Band-boosted Liquidation after Stealth Rock.

Aqua Jet can be used to pick off a weakened Choice Scarf Krookodile, Lycanroc-D, or Scizor, but Barraskewda already struggles to fit more relevant coverage like Poison Jab or Close Combat and thus isn't advised to be used.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Bulky Water-types**: Bulky Water-types such as Seismitoad, Milotic, and Volcanion all pose problems for Barraskewda, as their Water-resistance the two former's Water immunity and the latter's resistance and high natural bulk allows them to stomach any of Barraskewda's attacks, and either cripple it with Toxic or deal heavy damage to it in return. Rotom-W takes any of Barraskewda's attacks and can KO it with Volt Switch, but cannot switch into it under Rain rain.

**Grass-types**: Grass-types with Regenerator like Amoonguss and Tangrowth can take any of Barraskewda's attacks and easily heal it off, forcing it to be locked into an undesirable move like Ice Fang or Psychic Fangs if it wants to damage them, leaving Barraskewda vulnerable to other threats. Amoonguss is at risk of being 2HKOed by Ice Fang however. Choice Scarf Zarude is able to outspeed and revenge kill Barraskewda if Rain rain is not up.

**Revenge Killers**: If rain is not up, Barraskewda is prone to being revenge killed by numerous threats like Choice Scarf users such as Mienshao, Zarude, and Krookodile. Priority,(add comma) and priority users like Lycanroc-D and Conkeldurr can also pick off a weakened Barraskewda.

**Residual Damage**: If not using Heavy-Duty Boots, entry hazard damage can pile up over time as Barraskewda continuously pivots onto the field. Also, Rocky Helmet chip damage from Pokemon like Amoonguss, Kommo-o, and Tangrowth also wears down Barraskewda, compromising its longevity and ability to act as a wallbreaker.

[OVERVIEW]

Barraskewda's high Speed tier lets it outspeed threats like Thundurus and Keldeo, and alongside its decent Attack stat,(AC) gives it a niche as a fast wallbreaker. Under rain, Barraskewda is a powerful wallbreaker, outspeeding the whole tier and wiping out defensive Pokemon like Aegislash, Celesteela, and even Water-type resists Water-resistant foes like Primarina. Its excellent coverage allows it to bypass would-be checks to it like Amoonguss, Tapu Bulu, Salamence, and Zarude. Furthermore, Barraskewda can utilize a Heavy-Duty Boots pivot set thanks to its high Speed tier and Flip Turn, being able to pivot around an opponent's team and slowly wear them down while forming a momentum core with Pokemon like Zarude and Rotom-H. Barraskewda is also an effective pivot with Heavy-Duty Boots thanks to its high Speed tier and Flip Turn, which help it wear down opposing teams and form a VoltTurn core with Pokemon like Zarude and Rotom-H. However, Barraskewda is very frail,(RC) meaning it and cannot switch into many Pokemon, and thus requires requiring heavy pivot support or double switches to get in on the field safely,(RC) or must capitalize on double switches to get in without a teammate fainting. If running a Choice Band, Barraskewda is very prediction reliant and can be taken advantage of by Water-type resists Water-resistant foes such as Tangrowth and Rotom-W,(AC) by being Choice-locked.(remove period) On the other hand,(RC) if running Heavy-Duty Boots,(RC) while Heavy-Duty Boots Barraskewda is quite weak,(RC) not being able to and forced out by threats it cannot deal sufficient damage to,(AC) threats like Salamence, Amoonguss, and Tangrowth and thus is forced out often. Barraskewda also struggles to fit all the moves it wants, meaning it ends up walled by many Pokemon such as Tangrowth if it forgoes Poison Jab or Keldeo if it drops Psychic Fangs. Barraskewda faces competition from other Water-type wallbreakers like Keldeo and Starmie, which have much better bulk, less struggles with fitting coverage, and are less reliant on rain or an item to wallbreak.

[SET COMMENTS]

Liquidation is Barraskewda's strongest and most spammable attack, dealing solid damage to neutral targets like Galarian Slowbro and Celesteela. Ice Fang allows Barraskewda to nails Dragon-types like Salamence and Noivern while still retaining coverage for and Grass-types like Amoonguss and Zarude. Flip Turn allows Barraskewda to gain momentum by pivoting out on against predicted switch-ins like Tangrowth and Buzzwole. The last move slot is dependent on what Barraskewda wants to beat. Poison Jab is able to KO Grass-types like Tapu Bulu and Assault Vest Tangrowth more reliably than Ice Fang, although it can only 2HKO the latter if equipped with a Choice Band. It also has merits in handling handles Azumarill and Primarina. Psychic Fangs is another option that helps Barraskewda super effectively damage switch-ins like Amoonguss, Kommo-o, and Buzzwole, notably 2HKOing the former two on the switch if equipped with a Choice Band. It also helps Barraskewda check Keldeo, an otherwise huge threat to rain teams. Close Combat is Barraskewda's best option to damage Pokemon like Gastrodon, Seismitoad, and Rotom-W, which take little from any of Barraskewda's attacks, while also having the added benefit of hitting Chansey and Zarude super effectively. Choice Band boosts Barraskewda's wallbreaking power tremendously, being able to letting it 2HKO many walls like Amoonguss, Kommo-o, and Celesteela.(remove period) It can and even 2HKO Water-type resists Water-resistant foes like Noivern under rain. Choice Band should be primarily utilized on rain teams due to the ability to spam rain boosted Liquidation without worrying about being taken advantage of due to Barraskewda being prediction reliant at times. Alternatively,(RC) Heavy-Duty Boots is more desirable on VoltTurn teams rather than Choice Band. A Jolly nature is an option to outspeed Noivern if the team is weak to it, but Noivern isn't too common.

Pelipper is a great partner on rain teams, providing numerous benefits to Barraskewda like automatically setting rain and being able to wearing down Grass-types like Tangrowth with Hurricane. It also can clear entry hazards with Defog, keeping preventing Barraskewda from being worn down by them, and can bring in Barraskewda safely with U-turn. Other Pokemon found on rain teams like Kingdra, Keldeo, and Seismitoad all appreciate Barraskewda muscling through defensive answers for them like Chansey and Celesteela for them, and they are able to deal with Pokemon such as Salamence, Buzzwole, and Tangrowth in return. Kingdra and Keldeo are also able to help wear down Grass-types like Amoonguss for Barraskewda to KO more easily,(AC) while Seismitoad also acts as an Electric-type immunity for rain teams and can provide support with Stealth Rock support to wear down Pokemon like Rotom-W easier. Thundurus-T is another wallbreaker on rain teams that appreciates Barraskewda being able to revenge kill threats to it like Mienshao and Nihilego and specially defensive walls like Chansey;(add semicolon) and in return,(AC) it can dispatch bulky Water-types like Volcanion and Milotic in return.(remove period) Thundurus also appreciates Barraskewda removing specially defensive walls like Chansey and can outspeed and remove Keldeo. Pivots commonly found on VoltTurn teams like Zarude and Rotom-H are great teammates for Heavy-Duty Boots Barraskewda. Zarude can bring Barraskewda in on Fire-types like Moltres and Rotom-H that force it out,(RC) and in turn helps answer handle bulky Water-types like Seismitoad and Gastrodon,(AC) while for it.(remove period) Rotom-H is able to remove Grass-types like Amoonguss and Tangrowth while also dealing and also deal with Buzzwole for Barraskewda. Entry hazard support from the likes of Nihilego and Jirachi can help wear down checks to Barraskewda for it to power through them easier. For instance, Celesteela is brought into 2HKO range of a Choice Band-boosted Liquidation after Stealth Rock. Entry hazard support from setters like Nihilego and Jirachi can wear down checks like Celesteela into 2HKO range of Choice Band-boosted Liquidation.

**Revenge Killers**: If rain is not up, Barraskewda is prone vulnerable to being revenge killed by Choice Scarf users such as Mienshao, Zarude, and Krookodile;(comma to semicolon) and priority users like Lycanroc-D and Zygarde-10% can also pick off a weakened Barraskewda.
