PU Bastiodon (mini)

uploaded -mz

[OVERVIEW]

Bastiodon may appear to be a decent choice on bulkier builds due to its humongous defensive stats, but its awful defensive typing leaves it massively susceptible to the Fighting-types in the tier. A lot of strong physical wallbreakers in the tier currently carry Fighting coverage too, which doesn't do Bastiodon any favors. Pokemon that share Bastiodon's typing like Aggron and Probopass have ways to mitigate their typing's flaws, as Aggron is a strong wallbreaker and Probopass can trap Steel-types, has a decent offensive presence, and can pivot. Bastiodon is also very passive, which leaves it shut down by every Taunt user in the tier.

[SET]
name: Special Wall
move 1: Stealth Rock
move 2: Rock Side / Metal Burst
move 3: Metal Burst / Magic Coat / Roar
move 4: Toxic
item: Leftovers
ability: Sturdy
nature: Careful
evs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD

[SET COMMENTS]

This set allows Bastiodon to be a suboptimal lead by stopping opposing entry hazard setters with Magic Coat and getting Stealth Rock up or nuking the opposing threat with Metal Burst. However, this set is outclassed by Bronzor on stall builds, which has a far superior defensive typing and ability. It also suffers from competition from Aggron and Probopass, with one being a strong wallbreaker and the other being a Steel-type trapper.

[SET]
name: Special Wall
move 1: Stealth Rock
move 2: Rock Side(maybe stick a slash with metal burst here too)
move 3: Metal Burst(slash with magic coat and roar)
move 4: Toxic
item: Leftovers
ability: Sturdy
nature: Careful
evs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD

[SET COMMENTS]
This set allows Bastiodon to be a suboptimal Stealth Rock setter (id say specify lead)and be a one time nuke with the combination of Sturdy and Metal Burst. This set however is outclassed by Bronzor on stall builds who has a far superior defensive typing and ability.(mention aggron and probo here too)

Bastiodon may appear to be a decent choice on bulkier builds due to its humongous defensive stats, but it’s wrong one reeeee awful defensive typing leaves it massively susceptible to the Fighting-types in the tier. A lot of strong physical wallbreakers in the tier currently carry Fighting coverage too which doesn’t do Bastiodon any favors. Pokemon that share Bastiodon’s typing like Aggron and Probopass have ways to mitigate their typing’s flaws with Aggron being a strong wallbreaker and Probopass having a respectable niche of trapping Steel-types and pivoting!! and offensive presence!! this is big for why probo is/both are better. Bastiodon is also very passive, and leaves it shut down by every Taunt user in the tier.
