Bellossom @ Leftovers / Grassium Z
Ability: Chlorophyll
EVs: 252 HP / 72 Def / 184 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Quiver Dance
- Strength Sap
- Giga Drain
- Moonblast / Hidden Power Fire / Safeguard

Following Lilligant's ban, Bellossom has been given a chance to shine in the metagame as a setup sweeper. This is due to Quiver Dance, its decent movepool, and Strength Sap, the latter of which allows it to check threats like Gurdurr and beat threats it wouldn't otherwise like Skuntank. All of this is further complemented by its typing, which allows it to use common Pokemon like Tangela and Jellicent as setup fodder. Coverage moves like Moonblast and Hidden Power Fire allow it to beat would-be checks like Guzzlord and Victreebel, while Safeguard means that it can't be inflicted with a status condition like other setup sweepers. However, Bellossom greatly struggles against threats like Simisear and Oricorio-E, so checks like Regirock, which invites in Ground-types for Bellossom, and Lanturn, which can cure Bellossom from status with Hell Bell, make for good teammates. It also appreciates entry hazards, as they weaken its checks, so setters like Froslass and Mesprit are greatly appreciated.

Bellossom is a threatening bulky sweeper thanks to Quiver Dance, decent movepool, and Strength Sap, the latter of which allows it to check threats like Gurdurr and beat threats it wouldn't beat otherwise, like Skuntank. This is further bolstered by its typing, which allows it to use common Pokemon like Tangela and Jellicent as setup fodder, although it dislikes Toxic if it isn't running Safeguard. (tangela/jelly dont commonly run toxic tho) Moonblast is the preferred option, as it hits Guzzlord and Drampa for super effective damage although Hidden Power Fire is another option, as it allows it to beat Alolan Sandslash and Victreebel. Alternatively, Safeguard allows it to use Pokemon that could cripple it, such as Lanturn and Gastrodon, (well it could just click giga vs gastro and av lanturn is way more common than the toxic set, so maybe mention some different examples like metang) as setup fodder. However, Bellossom greatly struggles against threats like Simisear and Oricorio-E, so checks like Regirock, which invites in Ground-types for Bellossom, and Lanturn, which can cure Bellossom from status with Toxic make for good teammates. It also appreciates entry hazards as they weaken its checks faster, so setters like Froslass and Mesprit are greatly appreciated.

to add on to tj's check, I don't think you should be explaining in detail what bellossom's options do like a standard analysis but rather quickly go over how they're valuable parts of bellossom's toolkit as a bulky grass-type wincon ie "coverage can break through its checks while safeguard punishes toxic which would normally cripple other setup sweepers" it wraps up the information quite nicely while explaining what gives bellossom a niche without reading out like what's already on the dex. it also helps to keep this at <1000 characters

you can also make light of how lilligant's ban removed one of bellossom's biggest competitors — sure this was 2 months ago but spotlights have leeway with this sorta thing and it'd give this spotlight a bit more personality. that's all I got tho
