Best and Worst Defensive Pokemon In-Game

Well, one of the worst on terms of disparity between gameplay and competitive is Chansey line, very solid in.a real fight often, just no use in.game with no offense unless semi on bliss, . I find wobbufet to be the same, but even more so.

EDIT: liked the aforementioned dustox, however, if taking this thread very literally the worst options for defensive mons are obviously all the cocoons. Idk if those should count but yea.
It's funny because Gen 1 Chansey is probably pretty good for story runs. Maybe? If you can catch one somehow. TM reliant but has a good Special stat. Soft-boiled is also at its best in Gen 1 due to the super limited bag, too.

What makes this even funnier is that competitive play would have you think Tauros is the best of Kanto’s Big 3 Normal-Types, but Snorlax and Chansey are both way better than Tauros for single player somehow. Chansey’s massive bulk in tandem with the limited Bag space and Gen 1’s infamously bad Trainer AI and NPC movesets unironically makes Chansey a beast in this game… if you can find and catch one. It’s like a Hoenn or Sinnoh Milotic in that sense, just without the Contest shenanigans.
