Blissey @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
- Seismic Toss
- Soft-Boiled
- Toxic
- Heal Bell / Stealth Rock
While it may live in the shadow of its younger sister Chansey in OU, Blissey shines in the tier just below as the metagame's premier special wall. Colossal HP and Special Defense, a typing that gives it only one weakness, and loads of helpful utility options make Blissey a huge component of any stall team while allowing it to also fit comfortably on balanced builds. It can successfully wear most foes down with Seismic Toss and Toxic while also acting as a reliable cleric with Heal Bell or a Stealth Rock setter depending on its team's needs. It pairs exceptionally well with Alomomola and Quagsire on stall teams, as the former can help circumvent Blissey's weakness to several powerful physical attackers, while the latter takes on sweepers like Terrakion and Cobalion that could otherwise power through Blissey and the rest of the team. On balance, physically bulky Pokemon like Hippowdon and Mega Slowbro are still appreciated as teammates for their ability to pivot into a lot of Pokemon capable of threatening Blissey, like Infernape and Terrakion. While Blissey may struggle overall to patch up its weakness to a few defining stallbreakers and physical attackers, it's an integral Pokemon to UU stall builds and brings fantastic support to the balanced teams it also easily fits on.
