I wanted to build around Nidoking, so I thought Scizor was a cool partner to give me some speed control, Psychic resist, pseudo Latias answer, and get Nidoking into Pokemon that it can take advantage of, such as Steel types that come into Scizor or phys def walls in general. It also pursuits mons like Zong and kills/leaves them in range of Nidok. Jellicent fit the team as something to annoy walls for Nidoking and leave them in range of it and helping with Scizor. Diancie was my pick as a rocker to help with Lati and birds, as well as being reliable in keeping them up to help the voltturn core and Nidok. Manectric supported Nidoking nicely and gave the team the speed control it needed. Hydreigon was my last pick, giving me defog support and helping nidoking as it can lure fairies in for it to abuse (mainly passive ones). Nidoking also abuses the two spikers in the tier that could give Hydra trouble.

Thursday! THAT is the day by which you must submit to this thread!

Umbreon @ Leftovers
Ability: Synchronize
EVs: 252 HP / 248 SpD / 8 Spe
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Foul Play
- Wish
- Protect
- Heal Bell

Gligar @ Eviolite
Ability: Immunity
EVs: 252 HP / 156 Def / 100 SpD
Impish Nature
- Earthquake
- Stealth Rock
- Roost
- Toxic

Umby takes on Mane, Hydra, Nido and Jelly pretty easily, as neither of these is able to pressure it significantly. Foul Play always breaks Nidoking's sub (0- Atk Umbreon Foul Play vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Nidoking: 117-138 (38.6 - 45.5%) -- guaranteed 3HKO). Jelly has to come in on Foul Play (which doesn't do much but on a mon with no leftovers it can be significant), Taunt it to prevent Wish pass shenanigans which means it has to Foul Play and therefore waste Recover PP. Can't burn Umbreon either as it gets burned itself too which cuts its longevity. Also Hex does litterally 4. The one mon that can take on Umby is Diancie on which baby Gliscor just runs circles around. It has Toxic to put possible switch-ins like Jelly, Diancie and Hydra on a timer, making Umbreon's job that much easier. Scizor doesn't even run knock on this team so its eviolite is there to stay. Wish pass on Gligar means that it would never die to anything on this team ever either. Generally you'd see more Def on Gligar to take on Terrak's Continental Crush but I've used the standard 152 Def / 100 SpDef to alleviate some pressure from Umbreon in checking Hydra.

Celebi @ Psychium Z

EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk

- Dazzling Gleam

Hydreigon @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Draco Meteor
- Dark Pulse
- Fire Blast / Defog / U-turn
- Roost

So Celebi can really be an issue for this team as it outspeeds everything other than Manectric. It only really fears Overheat from Mega Mane and U-turn from Scizor if it isn't put in range for +2 Psychium-Z. Celebi easily removes the likes of Diancie, Nidoking and Jellicent. The main answer to Celebi is either Hydreigon or Scizor but dazzling gleam can OHKO Hydreigon. So I partnered Celebi with Hydreigon because it checks Mega Manectric and lures in Diancie which is a free set-up for Celebi on the double. Standard 3 Atk + Roost but you could easily swap around Fire Blast for Defog or maybe U-turn. The core doesn't necassarily switch into Scizor + Nidoking that well but neither get a free turn against them.

252 SpA Life Orb Hydreigon Draco Meteor vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Nidoking: 341-402 (112.5 - 132.6%) -- guaranteed OHKO

+2 252 SpA Celebi Shattered Psyche (175 BP) vs. 212 HP / 0 SpD Scizor: 286-337 (85.6 - 100.8%) -- 87.5% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock

+2 252 SpA Celebi Giga Drain vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Diancie: 222-264 (73 - 86.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery

+2 252 SpA Celebi Shattered Psyche (175 BP) vs. 248 HP / 0 SpD Jellicent: 457-538 (113.3 - 133.4%) -- guaranteed OHKO after Leftovers recovery

Lucario and Latias both shred teams. Specs Latias is underused and does an amazing job surprising Diancie, Mega Steelix, and shakier lati answers with its raw power. I prefer Life Orb on Lucario in general for the power and it helps in this match up against jellicent. If Lucario gets low, Latias is capable of bringing it back to full power with Healing Wish. For the most part, Latias can carry the matchup though, since Manectric can’t touch it.

Band Terrak goes in on this team, picking up a KO just about every time it comes in on something slower with careful prediction. Meanwhile, Rotom ensures that it will never be revenge killed by the likes of Scizor or Manectric while being able to pivot back into Terrak with volt switch once one of it's own answers such as Hydra comes in. Rinse and repeat until everything falls over. I hope you like the core!

Mega Blastoise is one of the more rarely used (heh) mega evolutions that we in UU have access to, but it's definitely a potent threat that can easily make waves against most building trends. To further aid Mega Blastoise, I figured that adding a Klefki could give it an easier time due to both Spikes and Thunder Wave support, the latter of which helps to remedy Mega Blastoise's relatively low speed. At this point I wanted to add a rocker so that both hazards and hazard removal remained out of the equation while finishing up the team, and Nidoking felt like a decent fit as it also appreciates the Spikes and Thunder Wave support Klefki offers while also offering some immense wallbreaking potential of its own. Scarf Hydreigon is most usually the best scarfer to pair with Nidoking, and its synergy with Nidoking is honestly fantastic because it can force Fairy-types in and pivot into Nidoking to boost my game progression. At this point, certain physically offensive threats, most notably Scizor and Terrakion, looked very troublesome to deal with and I thought adding a Doublade could help to remedy those issues for the most part. It also gives the team a win condition of sorts, and one that also appreciates the spikestack theme while also doubling as a spinblocker in a pinch. At this point it seemed like the team needed a physically offensive wallbreaker to break the opposition down to the point where Doublade could function effectively, and Band Terrakion fit the bill.

Good luck, and please remember to submit your cores by Thursday.
