Welcome to the NFE BW CUP , Part of the NFE Classic​

The tournament begins with three separate cups: the ADV NFE Cup, the DPP NFE Cup, and the BW NFE Cup. Each of these cups will be best-of-three and single-elimination. Points will be awarded based on players' performances in each of these cups, following the standard Smogon points system (as seen in such tours as the Smogon Grand Slam and Classic). Once all three cups are over, the top 8 players with the most total points will advance to the playoffs. These playoffs will be single-elimination and seeded, meaning that the 1st seed will play the 8th seed, the 2nd seed will play the 7th seed, and so on. In each set, the higher seed will pick the tier for game 1. The loser will then pick the tier for the subsequent game.

Tour Specific Rules:
  • This is a standard BW NFE tournament.
  • The format will be best-of-three, single elimination.
  • Changing teams between matches is allowed.
  • Rounds will last the standard 1 week.
  • If metagame changes occur during the middle of a round, they will take effect in the subsequent round.
  • Battles must take place on Pokemon Showdown! or on the smogtours server.
  • Replays are mandatory. Lack of replays will result in a coinflip.
  • Activity calls will be made by me, potentially with neutral assistance from a TD. Coinflips will be done publicly on PS!
  • As such, it is imperative to schedule publicly on your opponents' walls. Please do not schedule via PMs or Smogon convos.
  • You are expected to know and follow all general tournament rules.

What the OP means is that there will be three different tournaments taking place, this one (BW) and then there will be a separate sign up for DPP and ADV. Each of these three tournaments will be BO3 single elimination each round, and a different thread will be available for these tournaments.

There is also an SS and SM one which is ongoing.

There is a list of Pokémon which you can use and which ones are banned for each gen, there are also viability rankings so some Pokémon you want to use may not be recommended.
