Smokomodo, the Pyroclastic Flow Pokémon
Sun: The amount of lava Smokomodo releases is so overwhelming, it'll often dry over its body and create a metallic thread around its limbs. Such thread is somehow related to Alolan Dugtrio's hair.
Moon: Wrestling competitions are common among this Pokémon, especially during mating season. Smokomodo will often be thrown awkwardly and have their leg broken.
Ultra Sun: They're very moody Pokémon. The colors of their lava will change depending on how they're feeling--an enraged Smokomodo will heat up its lava so much it'll become purple.
Ultra Moon: They will blend in with the scorched earth near active volcanoes, waiting to catch their prey with a deadly grip. After the feast, they'll often use the bones as toys--or weapons.

Smokomodo, the Crafty Pokemon
Sun: Smokomodo hate losing and will often do whatever they can to win a fight. They love using unusual strategies to achieve victory.
Moon: Smokomodo commonly live in colonies within dormant volcanoes. If you see smoke coming out of a dormant volcano, it's likely two colonies of Smokomodo are fighting over territory.
Ultra Sun: Smokomodo's eyes can see through any fog or smoke. They're commonly used by firefighters to rescue people trapped in burning buildings.
Ultra Moon: Smokomodo can control the amount of smoke it releases and where it goes. It releases high amounts of smoke in battle.
Zetasniper
Smokomodo, the Volcanic Lizard Pokémon.
Sun: For reasons not fully understood, Smokomodo have a tendency to gather and bring back various types of bone to adorn and decorate their nests with.
Moon: Although Smokomodo have a very unpredictable temperament, it is possible to discern their mood by observing the consistency and color of the smoke they emit.
Ultra Sun: Smokomodo covet the powerful bones Alolan Marowak use to perform their dances and attacks with, often leading to a brutal battle between the two for ownership of said bone.
Ultra Moon: Smokomodo require constant attention to raise properly. It is easy to tell when a Smokomodo is raised poorly by the color and quality of the smoke ejected from its back.

Smokomodo, the Pyroclastic Pokémon
Sun: Magma courses through its entire body. It emits smoke from its back to help regulate body temperature.
Moon: Beneath its stubborn facade is a clever and crafty Pokémon. Hiding within a cloud of smog, it adeptly uses its limbs and long tail to subdue prey.
Ultra Sun: It nests in caverns deep within active volcanoes. By using the vents on its back to propel itself, Smokomodo can quickly traverse the craggy terrain to seek out new territory.
Ultra Moon: The veins on its body change color based on its mood. Bright red is a sign of hostility, while a flickering yellow signals trust to its Trainer.

Smokomodo, the Geyser Pokémon
Sun: It makes its home deep in volcanic craters. It can go for days without sunlight, using the heat from the earth around it for energy instead.
Moon: Smokomodo are fiercely territorial. They spit fire as a warning, before using their sharp claws and horns to pummel intruders.
Ultra Sun: Its three fingers are surprisingly dexterous. It is able to use its sharp claws to solve puzzles without breaking them, stumping scientists.
Ultra Moon: The gases that Smokomodo expel from their backs are affected by the quality of the air around them. They are more dangerous in their volcanic habitats for this reason.

Smokomodo, the Lava Vent Pokémon
Sun: This Pokémon can completely blend in with the volcanic terrain it resides in. When prey get within range of its flames, it roasts them alive.
Moon: Smokomodo can use the pressurized gas it builds up inside of its body for propulsion. It uses this trait to deliver powerful slashes to their foes.
Ultra Sun: The gas inside this Pokémon's body is extremely toxic. When in a pinch, it releases a huge stack of smoke and quickly hides among the terrain.
Ultra Moon: Smokomodo is extremely accurate when spitting balls of fire. It can even match the most skilled snipers in accuracy.

Smokomodo, the Volcanic Pokémon
Sun: Smokomodo are hot-tempered Pokémon that tend to live alone. They specialize in taking down prey like Magcargo due to their resistance to extreme heat.
Moon: Smokomodo is feared by some tribes due to its ability to unleash a geyser of lava equivalent in power to a volcanic eruption at will.
Ultra Sun: Despite being a starter Pokémon, Smokomodo is not a good choice for a novice trainer due to their independent streak. Trainers that embrace this, however, have an unquestionably faithful ally.
Ultra Moon: The smoke Smokomodo emits is easily able to knock out Pokémon like Talonflame, which helps make Smokomodo the dominant predator in its volcanic environment.
