CAP 37 - Part 11 - Name Submissions

Final Submission

Pterrorize

An amalgamation of pterodactyl and terrorize.

Pronounced: per-terro-rise.

Pterodactyl because it looks like one, and terrorise because it is both terrifying and because it will absolutely terrorise every physical sweeper in the meta.

Pterodathkyl

Pterodactyl + Terror +Death +Kill

Pronounced: "TAIR-roh-DATH-kill"

WIP 1

Terrordeathkill

Pronunced: terror-DEATH-kill
IPA: /ˌtɛɹ.ɚˈdɛθ.kɪl/

Etymology: Concatenation of "Terror", "Death", and "Kill" - three words that come to mind when gazing upon CAP37's violent visage - arranged in such a way that resembles "Pterodactyl".
This concept made me laugh, and since Yaheg made a different final submission, I'm doing my own spin on it

Pteradurge

Ptera + Dirge

Pronounced: tare-ra-DURJE

Ptera, standard pterosaur prefix + durge, which sounds cool (Durge is a Gen-Dai bounty hunter in Star Wars, dirge is a mournful song lamenting the dead, also the 10th colossus in Shadow of the Colossus)

Howitzaur

Howitzer + saur (e.g. pterosaur).

Pronounced: "How-IT-zore"

Tried to come up with a snappy name that emphasises both the cannon aspect of Beak Blast and the rostrum from Yokaiju's design, while still being recognisable as a pterosaur. "Zaur" at the end also sounds like "soar" or "tsar".

Final Submission

Maxillodon

max + maxilla (upper jawbone) + -odon (forms the name of genera based on teeth appearance)

Pronounced: "mak-SILL-oh-dawn"
IPA: /mækˈsɪl.ʊ.dɑn/

It's like To The Max because it's cool and edgy and stuff

Final Submission

Ignotoron

Ignition + ignoble + motor + notorious + Pteranodon

Pronounced: "ig-NO-toh-rawn"
IPA: /ɪg'no.tʊ.rɑn/

Attempted to conjure up a name that played with the prominent engine motif while preserving a saurian style. Its typing and both Abilites are implied through the name as well.

Grimewing

A combination of "Grime" + "Wing".

Pronounced: "GRIME-wing"
IPA: ɡɹaɪmwɪŋ

It's grimy cause of all that exhaust and it has wings. This is similar to names like Talonflame and Sandshrew which are very on the nose, I just feel like that was appropriate here.
