Hey All! Let's get this baby on the road! Voodoom's project was a long time ago, and it was designed around having a perfect partner. Let's get this off to a perfect start!

This poll will be run with PBV voting (a form of IRV), the details of which are outlined here. This means that you can vote for as many options as you like, and rank them by your preference. Be aware that order does matter in your votes! Make sure that you bold your votes and nothing else! A typical vote might look like the following:

Most Preferred
Second Most Preferred
Third Most Preferred

Any comments that the voter has would go below the votes in non-bold text. Bold text is used to determine what the user's votes are, so none of the supplementary text should be in bold.
CAP uses automated scripts to count votes. For this reason, it is very important for all ballots to be submitted correctly. If you do not compose a legal ballot, your post will be subject to moderation.
  • The scripts count bold words in ballots, so do NOT bold anything in your ballot other than the options you are voting for.
  • Do NOT put any formatting other than bold in your post.
  • Only one option per line.
  • Spelling of options must be EXACTLY correct and must match the spelling listed above.
  • Capitalization and spaces are ignored by the vote counting scripts, but you probably should not depend on it.
Composing a proper ballot is easy. Enter BBCode Edit Mode (the A in the upper right corner). Copy/paste the options directly from the OP to your ballot as plain unbolded text. Delete and/or rearrange the options to suit your preference and the poll type. Bold your vote text using bold tags or re-enter rich text mode, highlight your vote and click B. Spelling or formatting errors may spoil your ballot, so be careful!

Please post only your votes in this thread. Do not respond to other posts, or your posts will be moderated and you may be warned. You are allowed to say whatever you like in relation to your vote at the bottom of your post, but please do not look to begin a discussion. Keep those comments to #cap on IRC.

Do not campaign. Do not ask for votes in any way. Do not ask for something not to receive votes in any way. You have one vote and one vote only, so use it on your own and do not try to unfairly move in multiple votes for your favorite / against your least favorite entries. Your vote and all of the votes you brought in through campaigning will be deleted and further consequences are very likely, including infractions.

The options are as follows:

Dark
Fighting/Dark
Normal/Dark

Lets go go go! 24 hours!

Fighting/Dark
Dark
Normal/Dark

If we use mono-Dark, then would Voodoom's typing order be switched from Fighting/Dark to Dark/Fighting?

Normal is not "baby type." If it is not Fighting, then that means it should just be Dark. But... there is no good reason why it should not be fighting.

I really don't like the idea of Normal/Dark because I think it's just boring. Plus, it would be 4x weak to Fighting, a type it would later gain. Dark is pretty cool, but again, the weakness to fighting, plus we would probably have to make Voodoom's primary typing Dark, and secondary Fighting. Fighting/Dark would not be affected by Psychic moves at all and would only gain a flying weakness. That makes it seem pretty viable, plus we wouldn't have to mess with the movepool too much, since any new moves added would obviously have to be available to Voodoom as well.

Normal/Dark

I'll mention my thoughts on this entire impending creation process while I'm here: I strongly urge voters to stop considering the competitive benefits/repercussions of each choice. Voodoll, had it been completed with Voodoom, would have been a purely flavor-based Pokemon. This means that, in order to create it in a similar environment to its original one, before updating it, we need to stick to a mindset which rarely even acknowledges any aspects of competitive play.
