ChatGPT Flying D-nite Crossfire

:Dragonite: / :Kingambit: / :Primarina: / :Glimmora: / :Landorus-Therian: / :Cinderace:

Intro and Reasoning:
After bouncing ideas around. I decided to quite literally build with ChatGPT as my builder. This is my first time making and RMT and I find it ironic that this is the team I am making it with. I gave it extensive details on the meta, allowed it to view forum posts and replays from recent tournaments, and some of my other teams as a guide. I ended up with this high-risk, high-reward squad that’s surprisingly effective in today’s fast-paced meta. It balances explosive offense with just enough utility to keep momentum, and leans into aggressive Tera options to punish passive play. Dragonite and Kingambit serve as the win cons, but every slot feels like it can swing a game depending on the matchup. Curious to hear how others would refine or stabilize it—there’s potential here, but I’m still stress-testing the ceiling.

Team & Description:

Leviathan (Dragonite) @ Sharp Beak
Ability: Multiscale
Tera Type: Flying
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Earthquake
- Extreme Speed
- Tera Blast

Everyone loves to hate ole reliable. Tera Flying Dragonite is a staple cleaner in the current meta, abusing Multiscale to get free setup opportunities and sweeping unprepared teams, especially with sharp beak to boost it even further. Tera Blast hits absurdly hard with Flying STAB, while Earthquake is a staple coverage move that handles Steels like Heatran and Gholdengo. Extreme Speed offers strong revenge-killing potential and clutch endgame priority in a pinch. This set punishes slower teams and takes full advantage of passive leads or defoggers. I felt as though earthquake could be subbed out for something but was unsure as tera-flying sharp beak blast nukes most mons even at +1 in 1-2 hits.

Fukuoka (Kingambit) @ Leftovers
Ability: Supreme Overlord
Tera Type: Bug
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Sucker Punch
- Kowtow Cleave
- Iron Head
Its everyones favorite late game revenge killer & clutch sweeper. Swords Dance Kingambit remains one of the most threatening lategame wincons, and the Tera Bug tech allows it to flip the script on Great Tusk, Keldeo, and other ground and fighting mons while dodging common coverage options. Supreme Overlord gives it unmatched snowballing potential, especially late-game when it's cleaning weakened teams. Despite full Speed investment, it still retains it's massive bulk and offensive pressure. This set pressures Ghost- and Psychic-types while complementing Dragonite by overwhelming shared checks. I think the tera is interchangeable but I personally love tera bug.

Solana-P (Primarina) @ Assault Vest
Ability: Torrent
Tera Type: Steel
EVs: 196 HP / 252 SpA / 60 Spe
Modest Nature
- Surf
- Moonblast
- Flip Turn
- Psychic Noise

Primarina with Assault Vest and Steel Tera offers a reliable special tank into threats like Dragapult, Walking Wake, and even Iron Valiant, all while retaining strong offensive presence. This thing was the unspoken MVP of the team, easily flipping the script (no pun intended) with Flip Turn keeping up momentum, while Psychic Noise is key in shutting down Regenerator cores and annoying sub mons like zama and other primarinas. Steel Tera removes its Fairy and Grass weaknesses, improving matchups versus Specs Pult and Gholdengo. It acts as a pivot and soft check to several special attackers while dishing out damage. Definitely a non-negotiable.

Spider Lilly (Glimmora) @ Power Herb
Ability: Toxic Debris
Tera Type: Fairy
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Meteor Beam
- Rock Polish
- Earth Power
- Dazzling Gleam

Ahh, this was the mon that started this whole ChatGPT team nonsensical endeavor. I wanted to build a fun team with this surprise sweeper as the center. Glimmora here functions as an aggressive hazard lead and potential wincon, utilizing Power Herb Meteor Beam to grab surprise KOs while setting Toxic Spikes through Toxic Debris. Rock Polish gives it sweeping potential against offensive teams after a boost, and Tera Fairy lets it tank priority and revenge attempts better. Though fragile, it forces early decisions from opponents and can often trade up. It's great at punishing unprepared HO and forces defoggers onto the field early. Tera flying is an option but I find the extra damage on dazzling gleam was well worth the swap.

Magnus-T (Landorus-Therian) (M) @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Intimidate
Tera Type: Water
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Sandsear Storm
- U-turn
- Taunt

Literally the definition of reliable. Fast, max HP Landorus-T with Taunt is a versatile glue that pressures setup sweepers, denies hazards, and offers critical pivoting through U-turn. Rocky Helmet punishes contact moves especially on pivot-heavy teams and priority like Rillaboom or Gambit. Sandsear Storm provides chip and a rare burn chance, and Tera Water gives it flexibility into Ice- and Fire-types. It anchors the team defensively while keeping tempo in your favor. I know that earth power is the obvious choice. but again, I am listening to chatGPT for this team and I have had some nice burns from using sandsear so I am committing to it.

Barou (Cinderace) @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Libero
Tera Type: Fire
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Pyro Ball
- Court Change
- U-turn
- Sucker Punch

Cinderace rounds this team out with a really reliable offense mon with Boots and Court Change which offers utility and pressure in one slot—flipping hazards back on passive leads while staying mobile with U-turn. Pyro Ball hits hard and punishes common Grass- and Steel-types, while Libero gives it type flexibility in tight matchups. Sucker Punch adds key priority to help handle fast sweepers like Pult or Valiant. It's a key disruptor against hazard-heavy builds and gives the team breathing room versus offense. I actually appreciated sucker more than I thought I would. Ace also provides a decent pivot on many of the meta's annoying mons nowadays as a one time switch.

Final Thoughts and Importable:
https://pokepast.es/d86f66470479d8bc
In a meta that is hyper offensive and has ever changing threats and anti-meta sets, this team thrives on tight sequencing, smart Tera calls, and capitalizing on chip damage — not passive play. It struggles if it falls behind early or loses tempo, but when played aggressively and with good reads, it can dismantle even the bulkiest teams. There’s a delicate balance between pressuring and overextending, but that’s what makes it engaging to pilot and why I think this team is so much fun to run on the ladder. I’d love thoughts on the team, how ChatGPT did, and what can be improved. Open to any and all criticism.

Lando packin a glizzy was not something I knew I needed thank you very much.

Also cool idea I’m actually quite impressed you were able to train ChatGPT to build you a usable OU team.

I don't think ChatGPT knows what "revenges" means
252 Atk Cinderace Sucker Punch vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Iron Valiant: 19-23 (6.5 - 7.9%) -- possibly the worst move ever
I question ChatGPT's definition of "chipped" but I suppose it could be Tera'd

I love the Splash-O-Matic Lando though
I completely agree some of the deductive reasoning it gave was quite funny on its own which is why I kept it in. Although I did manage to take out 2 vals on this climb with sucker so although unreasonably uncommon, it had its limited merits.

How do you Chatgpt taught the metagame, I tried this one and only garbage came out, I need to know a little urgently
Uhm I kept feeding it info and links for a while, definitely doesnt work unless you give it a specific context window and dont allow it to use other things for its knowledge base

honestly I am too. I usually am super stubborn about building my own teams, but this was a fun mini-experiment to run

I think this post just made me realize the untapped potential of AI when it comes to teambuilding.

If you were willing to buy the ChatGPT API, and maybe a server to host a webscraper depending on the amount of info you're using, you could make an LLM that would be very good at teambuilding in general

But Idk about the ethics of making something like this because like how ChatGPT is currently you are enabling players who might not be as good in terms of teambuidling to take the easy way out and not actually learn how to teambuild. (but tbf there are a lot of players that straight up don't enjoy teambuilding and think battling is more interesting) I think for players with experience in teambuilding this would be useful though cause this cuts down on the amount of research you need to do in general.

Overall I think this post is cool, keep up the good work!
