PU Chimecho (mini) [QC 2/2] [GP 1/1]

uploading -mz
[OVERVIEW]

On paper, Chimecho has a lot of things going for it. It has a solid support movepool, including reliable recovery in Recover, entry hazard removal in Defog, and rare access to Healing Wish. It also has a solid ability in Levitate, making it a pivot into certain Pokemon such as Mudsdale. However, this all falls apart when one looks at Chimecho's stats and typing, which are pretty bad for the type of Pokemon it is supposed to be. There are plenty of Psychic-type in the tier which provide similar utility while still being vastly more competent choices, such as Mesprit and Claydol. They also have ways against the Dark-types that counter Chimecho such as pivoting with U-turn or Healing Wish or using Choice Specs Dazzling Gleam and Ground-type STAB moves.

[SET]
name: Supporter
move 1: Healing Wish / Defog
move 2: Recover
move 3: Psychic
move 4: Thunder Wave / Taunt
item: Leftovers / Colbur Berry
ability: Levitate
nature: Calm
evs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD

[SET COMMENTS]

This set utilizes Chimecho's solid support movepool to give it a niche. However, it isn't as bulky as one might like, and its typing makes it vulnerable to several threats in the PU metagame such as Skuntank, Jellicent, and Spiritomb. As a Healing Wish user, it is outperformed by Mesprit and Choice Scarf Lilligant, which have better offensive presence, and as an entry hazard remover, it is completely outclassed by Claydol, which also has access to Levitate while resisting Stealth Rock, performing better against common hazard setters like Regirock and Aggron, providing Stealth Rock support, and having better bulk.
