[SET COMMENTS]
Choice Band Arcanine stands out as an incredible wallbreaker, able to dismantle common defensive Pokemon such as Amoonguss and Rhydon by tricking oppponents into believing its Curse Arcanine. Its access to Extreme Speed also lets Arcanine to differentiate itself from other wallbreakers such as Paldean Tauros-F by allowing Arcanine to revenge kill faster Pokemon. Close Combat hits Rhydon for super effective damage while also dealing solid damage to Fire-types such as Paldean Tauros-F and Rotom-H. Extreme Speed allows Arcanine to revenge kill faster targets such as Salazzle and Pawmot. Raging Fury gives Arcanine a STAB option that doesn't reduce its longevity, though it comes at the cost of forcing Arcanine to stay in, allowing Pokemon such as Rhydon and Milotic to revenge kill it. Alternatively, Wild Charge can be used to allow Arcanine to hit Water-types such as Milotic and Cramorant for large damage, 2HKOing the former while OHKOing the latter. Tera Normal boosts the power of Arcanine's Extreme Speed, allowing it to OHKO Salazzle and Pawmot while also removing its Stealth Rock weakness.
Arcanine fits best on Offense and Bulky Offense teams, who appreciates it's combination of revenge killing, wall breaking, and ability to check Pokemon such as Paldean Tauros-F and Florges. Due to Arcanine's Stealth Rock weakness, hazard prevention options such as Espeon, Tatsugiri, and Alolan Sandslash are essential, as they allow Arcanine to switch in as often as possible while in return Arcanine can use Pokemon such as Hisuian Decidueye and Paldean Tauros-F that check these Pokemon as switchin opportunities. Arcanine particularly struggles against Water-types such as Milotic and Cramorant, as while it can use Wild Charge to beat them, this can be unreliable due to requiring heavy prediction. Therefore, Pokemon such as Amoonguss, Goodra, and Shaymin that can take advantage of them are heavily appreciated, while in return Arcanine can use the common Fire- and Grass-types that switch into its partners as wallbreaking opportunities. Pivots such as Bombirdier, Milotic, and Ambipom are great for Arcanine, as they can help it get safely into battle without having to eat hits, which can worsen its limited longevity. Rhydon is a particularly big struggle for Arcanine, as while Close Combat does a lot to it, Rhydon can switch into any other move from Arcanine easily and KO it back. Therefore, Pokemon such as Hisuian Decidueye, Amoonguss, Mudsdale, and Orthworm that can answer Rhydon effectively are great partners for Arcanine.
