[SET]
Choice Scarf (Landorus-Therian) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 8 HP/240 Atk/8 Spd/252 Spe
Jolly Nature
-Earthquake
-Stone Edge
-U-Turn
-Stealth Rock/Defog/Explosion
Landorus-T’s ability to throw off powerful earthquakes, pivot with u-turn, lower opposing pokémon’s attack stat with Intimidate, and amazing role compression as a whole makes it one of the most prolific choice scarf users in the tier. Choice Scarf Landorus-T can lead or switch into threats such as Tapu Koko, Mega Charizard Y, Mega Diancie, and Iron Moth, being able to OHKO all with either earthquake or stone edge. Stone edge deters the flying types in the tier from coming in, and allows Landorus-T to revenge kill bulky Volcarona sets even after 1 Quiver Dance. U-turn can be used to gain/maintain momentum for the team on switch ins, while stealth rock/defog can fill roles for hazards/hazard removal, respectively. Explosion is a more niche option, however, for more offensive teams or teams with the former mentioned roles already filled. The given EVs allow Landorus-T to survive Gholdengo’s Make It Rain after Stealth Rock and Ogerpon-Wellspring’s Ivy Cudgel at -1 Attack From Full HP.
Choice Scarf Landorus-T struggles most with physically defensive walls such as Defensive Landorus-T, Alomomola, and Corviknight. Special Attackers like Raging Bolt, Tapu Lele, Mega Charizard Y, and Gholdengo can break through Landorus-T’s check while Scarf Landorus-T can out speed many of the threats of the formerly mentioned pokemon. More passive answers to Landorus-T’s checks such as Ferrothorn and Alomomola are also of much value, being able to set hazards/status the opposing team, slowly chipping them down for a Landorus-T cleanup.
