Access to Hyper Beam, Adaptability bolstered by its monsterous special attack and a mono-Normal typing makes it a dangerous threat capable of luring dangerous threats like Curse + Disable Dragapult, Urshifu-S, and Rillaboom. Hyper Beam is Porygon-Z's strongest form of attack, capable of decimating most foes slower than it such as Choice Band Galarian Darmanitan, Choice Band Haxorus, and Volcarona. Uproar is Porygon-Z's secondary STAB option and is more reliable against bulkier threats; particularly stall Rotom-H and Rotom-W, as well as Substitute users like Whimsicott. Uproar, when combined with Trick, can also be used to defeat Chansey and Blastoise. Trick is a great option in conjunction with Dark Pulse allowing it to cripple Ghost-types like Galarian Corsola and Curse + Disable Dragapult. It can also be useful against Skarmory. Dark Pulse can also be used against other Ghost-types like non-Choice Scarf Gengar and Chandelure. If you're willing to become prone to Ghost-types, however, you can opt to run Recover + Trick for outstalling Pokemon like Mandibuzz, non-Modest Blissey, and Porygon2. Tri Attack can be used with Trick to have better odds against Shell Smash Crustle. The given EV spread lets you survive a Grassy Glide from Choice Band Rillaboom while simultaneously outspeeding base 80s like Togekiss, Chandelure, and Venusaur.
Choice Scarf Porygon-Z is a fairly simple Pokemon to use as its mainly focused on luring faster Pokemon like Choice Band Urshifu-R and Curse + Disable Dragapult. However, certain Pokemon can outspeed and beat it with a Choice Scarf; notably Galarian Darmanitan, Haxorus, and Hydreigon. Some Pokemon that Porygon-Z can hit first or Pokemon that don't use Chilan Berry will be able to defeat it regardless. Sawk can avoid being OHKOed by Hyper Beam and threaten it instead. Primarina can naturally live Hyper Beam and Assault Vest Urshifu-R can lure it in, survive, and OHKO with Close Combat. Most stall Pokemon should be avoided, outside of Chansey, Porygon2, and Slowbro, due to inability to threaten Porygon-Z. Galarian Corsola can be beaten if it is running Trick + Dark Pulse + Recover, if running the former two it can struggle against Icy Wind variants + Cursed Body chances of activation.
