Moves

Petal Dance is Lilligant's most spammable move, as it doesn't have to worry about confusion due to Own Tempo, but a major flaw in this move is that Lilligant cannot switch out during the turns the move is active for. Therefore, another option is Leaf Storm, which serves as a solid one-time powerful hit when Lilligant comes onto the field but has a catch in the fact that it lowers Lilligant's Special Attack by two stages. Giga Drain is a safer move to use, albeit with much less power, and does have the benefit of making Lilligant slightly harder to wear down through things like entry hazards. The Hidden Power type varies depending on what Pokemon Lilligant wants to not be walled by. Hidden Power Ice hits Alolan Exeggutor and Oricorio-E, Hidden Power Rock hits Oricorio-G and Articuno, and Hidden Power Fire hits Alolan Sandslash. Healing Wish allows Lilligant to support its teammates late-game at the cost of KOing itself in the process.

Set Details

Own Tempo should be run alongside Petal Dance to stop it from triggering confusion. If running Leaf Storm, Own Tempo does little to nothing, so the little slightly less situational option is Chlorophyll.

Usage Tips
========

A large niche Choice Specs Lilligant has is the ability to lure in foes expecting it to be running Quiver Dance. It can use this as an opportunity to fire off one of its powerful STAB moves or coverage moves on Pokemon like Oricorio-E. However, be wary that Lilligant will be locked into that single move. The main example of this is in Petal Dance, which should ideally only be used when threats such as Skuntank and Alolan Exeggutor have been taken out or weakened into KO range because it allows them to easily revenge kill Lilligant or use it as setup fodder. Due to being somewhat frail, Lilligant should be brought in as a revenge killer or through a slow pivot like Lanturn. Lilligant can also serve as a nice wallbreaker, having a good matchup against various bulky Pokemon like Regirock and Mudsdale. When Lilligant is weakened, it can use Healing Wish to heal up another weakened teammate.

Team Options
========

Pokemon like Lanturn, Qwilfish, and Clefairy can use Thunder Wave to paralyze foes like Simisear, Scyther, and Swanna, which are otherwise faster than Lilligant. Knock Off users like Eelektross and Gurdurr can do similar by removing Choice Scarf from Pokemon like Mesprit and Kabutops. Lanturn and Eelektross also provide slow pivots to get Lilligant onto the field safely, while Clefairy and Qwilfish can set entry hazards to help wear down foes and put them into KO range. Regirock is another notable hazard setter, as it checks large threats to Lilligant in Scyther and Skuntank. These Pokemon can also be offensively checked by wallbreakers like Stoutland and Kangaskhan, which appreciate Lilligant breaking through their defensive threats like Regirock and Mudsdale. Setup sweepers like Lycanroc and Dodrio also benefit from these foes being weakened and can clean up the match for Lilligant. Lilligant can give these Pokemon a potential second chance to wallbreak or sweep by supporting one of them with Healing Wish. Due to being locked into a single move every time it comes in, Lilligant switches a lot. Because of this, it is vulnerable to hazards, so removers like Kabutops and Swanna come in handy. Both of these Pokemon can also run Choice Scarf and serve as cleaners for the match.
