Come in guys! It's time for your next immunity challenge. The Eevee Tribe is getting its first look at the new Pikachu Tribe, where Cleo was voted out at the last tribal council.

Jigsaw Solve [24 hours]

For this challenge, you will be solving a jigsaw puzzle. When you want to begin, say ?challengestart in your confessional chat, and Dyno will send you a link to the puzzle. Only start when you’re ready, because your time will start counting down the second Dyno sends the link to you. Because of this, we recommend starting the challenge at the start of a fresh minute, since your time will be based off of Discord timestamps, not the time that you got on the puzzle’s website. We also recommend giving yourself at least an hour to complete the puzzle, though it may take less/more time depending on the individual. Once you complete the puzzle, take a screenshot of the completed puzzle and send it to your confessional chat. Your time will be calculated as the time you received the puzzle subtracted from the time you sent the screenshot to your confessional chat. The person with the fastest time from each tribe will receive individual immunity.

Did you read that right?

Yep, individual immunity. There’s something special about this tribal council: tonight, BOTH tribes will be going to tribal council. That’s right: there will be two tribal councils, one for the Pikachus and one for the Eevees. You’re still in your tribes, and you will only be voting/communicating within your tribes. The person with the fastest time from Pikachus will have immunity in their tribal council, and the person with the fastest time from Eevees will have immunity in their tribal council. Because of this, you will not be competing for immunity for your team - instead, you’ll be competing for immunity for yourself. You have 24 hours to complete this challenge, until noon EDT April 3.

You may NOT talk to anyone within/outside your tribe about the puzzle.

Quits = someone who started but did not finish, blanks = someone who never started.

This means that Hannahh wins individual immunity for the Pikachu tribe and ajhockeystar wins individual immunity for the Eevee tribe. They may choose to give up their immunity necklace and give it to a tribemate if they want to BUT if they do so, they have to do it within the next 5 hours.

The Pikachus are getting their first look at the Eevee Tribe, where Aaronboyer was voted out at the last TC.(edited)

And...

The Eevees are getting their first look at the Pikachu Tribe, where Laurel was voted out at the last TC.

Alright castaways, time for your next challenge! Except... Drop your buffs. It's time for a swap.

The New Pikachu Tribe will consist of: JALMONT , apricity , InfernoDragon , rssp1, vooper , Hannahh , Oddish. , and 3P1K

The New Eevee Tribe will consist of: ajhockeystar , trace , EpicUmbreon29 , Hilomilo , Steven Snype, Take Azelfie, Mikaav , and Josh .

It's time for your first post-swap challenge!

Ladder Trick Shots Using the Pokemon Showdown Ladder, your tribe must work together to perform a number of “trick shot” tasks. Each player on your tribe must be assigned to complete at least one of the following trickshots, and slots that are left unassigned may be performed by any player. The tribe to complete all of their trick shots first will win immunity. If neither tribe completes all trick shots, the tribe that completed the most trick shots will receive immunity. If there is a tie, the tribe that completed their last trick shot before the other tribe will win immunity. All replays should be saved and shared with your tribe and the hosts for tasks that require one replay; tasks that require more than one replay should be submitted via /rank screenshot on a fresh pre-identified alt. We recommend posting your replay links in a Pastebin link so that it’s easier to keep them in one place. Any ladder matches against teammates will not count and if you submit a replay that is rigged, you will face very steep consequences. All matches for this challenge should be on the ladder. All matches should be done with a fresh alt’s name that you share with your tribe and the hosts ahead of player. I will set up a challenge channel in your tribal categories. Once you complete one of the trick shots, ping the hosts with your replays as well as a screenshot of your /rank on Showdown!. Remember, all members of the tribes must be assigned to at least one trick shot that they are responsible for completing. You must complete your designated trick shot before you can start on any of the unassigned ones, and you cannot complete someone else’s trick shot for them.

You will have to create a new alt on Showdown!, and it is with this alt that you will ladder. Your alt’s name MUST include your name on Smogon and “CSAS” (Circus Survivor All-Stars). So, for example, you could do CSAS hal, aj CSAS, Mikaav-CSAS, etc. You MUST have these things in your alt’s name in order for any of your replays to count.

Here are the trick shots:

1. Win 10 games of LGPE OU.
2. In an OU match, use Luvdisc to cause two of the opponent’s Pokemon to faint.
3. In an LC match, knock-out 3 or more of the opponent’s Pokemon with a Rufflet and win the match.
4. In a PU match, use a Dragon Dance Lapras and set it up to at least +2 attack and then use it to KO at least two opposing Pokemon.
5. In an OU match, have Stunfisk dodge 1 or more 100% accurate moves without fainting by the end of the battle.
6. Sweep with a Pokemon that functionally has a speed of more than 1000 and win the battle in a UU ladder match.
7. Win an Ubers match after exploding 4 of your 6 Pokemon with the move Explosion.
8. In an OU match, teach a single pokemon 3 different weather starting moves. Have it use all 3 of them in the same match and win the match.
9. Win 40 games of ZU.
10. Win 200 games of Randbats.
11. Set up at least THREE of Stealth Rocks, 2 layers of Toxic Spikes, 3 layers of Spikes, and Sticky Web in an Ubers match and have them all still remaining on the field when you win the match.
12. Win 20 games of RU.
13. Win 50 games of Challenge Cup 1v1.
14. Win 100 games of OU.

You will have 48 hours to complete this challenge (deadline is April 6, 3PM EDT). Good luck castaways :) your challenge chats will be going up shortly

Ghosting is not allowed in the challenge.

The New Pikachu Tribe is getting their first look at the New Eevee Tribe, where Steven Snype has left the game.

Let's get to the next challenge... This time, we're returning to the third iteration of...

Watered-down RPG [48 hours]

Note that there are a number of key changes to some old characters and their skills compared to previous seasons in which this challenge ran. New characters have been added and some old ones have been buffed, so be sure to read through thoroughly even if you've done this challenge before. Sorry for all the reading though, it's a lot.

Each tribe picks FOUR characters classes from the below list; new characters have been added since this challenge ran last season, and some old characters have been modified. A single character class may be picked more than once if desired. Each character has 5 points that can be allocated between their Action Skills to improve their effectiveness. Each character is decided to be made in the “front” or “back” of the party. Then… the tribes’ parties fight it out! Once each tribe has assembled their party, we will gather in a PS room to play the game, where dice rolls will be clearly visible. At least one member from each tribe must be present to declare actions, though it is preferable if more members of the tribe are there to help out.

This game is a dice based game, where actions (and damage) are based on dice rolls and other modifiers.

Once the battle starts, actions will be decided/declared after the immediately previous action is done. That is to say, each action is reactive to the latest action, rather than actions for all characters being submitted all at once at the beginning of a turn order in which actions are predictive of what will happen during that turn.

Characters can be chosen to be placed in the “front” or the “back” of each party. Front/Back impacts the effectiveness of Close skills. Effectively the characters are placed in a 4 column space, where one tribe’s “back” column occupies column 1, their “front” column occupies column 2, the other tribe’s “front” column occupies column 3, and their “back” column occupies column 4. Any Close skill’s final result is reduced by 5 points for every column of difference between the user and the target, even if the target is an ally in a different column. This minus 5 is applied even if the columns are next to each other; it is only not applied if you are targeting an ally in the very same column. Ranged skills are not impacted by distance like Close skills are, but as a result, the base power of Ranged skills are naturally lower than Close skills, on average. Character front/back positions cannot be changed after the start of the battle; once decided, they are locked in place.

Actions Available
Bludgeon Attack (Close)(Physically Offensive)
Piercing Attack (Close) (Physically Offensive)
Magic Touch (Close) (Magically Offensive)
Healing Touch (Close) (Magically Restorative)
Give Dogfood (Close) (Physically Restorative)
Arrow Attack (Ranged) (Physically Offensive)
Magic Attack (Ranged) (Magically Offensive)
Snowball Throw (Ranged) (Mixed Offensive)

Mixed Offensive actions always target the opponent’s weaker of its defenses, whereas Physical skills are affected by the target's physical defense and magical skills are affected by the target's magical defense.

Each character has 5 points that your tribe has to distribute between its skills to increase its dice roll. For example, if you have a Wizard character, you may choose to allocate 3 points into its Magic Touch skill and 2 points into its Magic Attack skill.

Defense Modifiers: A character’s physical and magical defense are marked as Low, Moderate, or High. These impact not only the damage multiplication when a character receives damage, but also modifies when a character receives Restoration.

Low – This character takes 1.25 times damage from a corresponding physical or magical attack. This character recovers .75 times the HP from the corresponding physical or magical restoration.

Moderate – No defense modifiers

High – This character takes .75 times the damage from a corresponding physical or magical attack. This character recovers 1.25 the HP from the corresponding physical or magical restoration.

Initiative – Initiative determines the order in which characters move at the start of the battle, and once determined this order will not change during the course of the battle. Initiative always is made up of a base number plus the result when each character rolls a d20 at the start of the game. For example, a character with a base 5 initiative that rolls a 20 has an initiative of 25, which would be higher than a character with a base 10 that rolls a 12.

(dice roll - distance modifier if Close action + skill allocation points) x defense modifier x special modifiers = Damage or Restoration amount, rounded down to the nearest whole integer. If the result is ever a negative number, the target will gain HP in the case of an offensive action being used against them and lose HP in the case of a restorative action being used against them.

This special power may only be used twice.
Special Power #2: Shield of Flames- The Wizard character may forego attacking or healing for its turn to instead cast Shield of Flames. This spell will cause all Snowball Throws used against the Wizard's party to deal half damage for the remainder of this turn and the two next full turn phases. This effect ends early if the Wizard that cast it faints.

What I need from each tribe:

-List of 4 characters chosen
-Each character's skill allocation points
-Each character's front/back position
-A name for each character (makes things less confusing when the battle starts)
-A list of times you’re able to play this weekend

Any questions, feel free to ask. You have (more than) a bit of reading to do, sorry :c

A few answers to a few questions:

-Casting multiple shield of flames with a single wizard will not cause the effect to stack. Casting multiple shield of flames with multiple wizards will stack the effect; two shield of flames from two different wizards cause snowball throw to be weakened to 1/4 damage, three to 1/8, four to 1/16.
-Samoyeds will not lose HP / attacking dice rolls if one of their ally snowballers faints
-Characters can use healing touch or give dogfood to themselves. However, if a Shiba or Corgi gives dogfood to itself, it will not receive the 2.5x or 3x healing effect (if you have more that one shiba or corgi and one gives dogfood to the other, then the bonus still applies, you just can't have Shiba A give Shiba A dogfood and get the extra healing; any other character other than Shiba A giving Shiba A dogfood will increase the HP restoration)
-Whenever a final damage or healing calc is not a whole integer, the calc will be rounded down. So, a final calc of 18.75 damage would actually do 18 damage.

Should have posted this earlier, but anyway:

Re: events around Laurel

For the sake of both not accidentally revealing or alluding to game details, as well as not to drag up additional drama, I'm not going to go into full detail on what exactly went on with Laurel this game, but suffice it to say that there were behaviors exhibited by Laurel this game that were probably deserving of some punishment in the realm of a temporary ban from survivor games (as well as the need to make this post). From speaking with Laurel, he's decided that he will not be playing in any games on Circus Maximus for the foreseeable future, which is greater than any punishment I would have levied or believe he deserves, so I'm holding Laurel to that and considering this matter addressed.

I ask that players not contact Laurel regarding the events that made me make this post, particularly during the duration of the game, and have asked Laurel not to do the same. Additional punishments may be levied to anyone further antagonizing or pushing issues further, so please don't make me do that.

Thanks.

The New Pikachu tribe gets their first look at the New Eevee tribe, where Mikaav was voted out of the game.

Time for the next challenge!

Team Battle Face Off [48 hours]

Each team selects one player to fill a Pokemon Battle slot. The players from the opposing tribes selected for that slot will face off in the corresponding tier in a bo1 match (IF both players agree to bo3, you can do bo3, but this decision needs to be done before g1 starts and if players can't agree the default is bo1). The tribe to win the most matches wins individual immunity. Subs may be made if scheduling is impossible. Each team gets a max of 2 subs.

Slots:
1. OU JALMONT vs Josh
2. LC 3P1K vs Hilomilo
3. ZU vooper vs Take Azelfie
4. CAP rssp1 vs EpicUmbreon29
5. Ubers Oddish. vs trace

Post all replays in the thread. Schedule in the thread or on Smogon walls; don't use Smogon PMs or PS PMs or Discord DMs to schedule.

No ghosting is allowed.

First tribe to 3 wins wins individual immunity.

Welcome to the merge, Melmetal Tribe! For those people just watching the thread, Inferno was voted out of the New Pikachu Tribe at the last tribal council.

It is now time for our first post-merge challenge!

F13: Touchy Subjects [24 hours]

You will be asked a number of questions. You will give 2 answers; the first will be the current Melmetal tribe member that YOU think is the best answer to the question and your second answer will be who you think the TRIBE says is the best answer.

1. Who do you think is the most attractive person on the tribe IRL?
2. Who do you think most likely has a Hidden Immunity Idol?
3. Who do you think has the greatest odds of stabbing their allies in the back?
4. Which player do you think is the most cursed to win tribal challenges?
5. Which player do you think is most likely to idle their way to the end?
6. If there was a partner immunity challenge where both you and your partner competed side by side and had a shared score and the pairing with the highest score would both win immunity, who would you want your partner to be?
7. Who on the tribe do you know the least about in terms of their personal life?
8. Who on the tribe do you know the most about in terms of their personal life?
9. Who is the most well-liked across the entire tribe?
10. Who do you think the game's spectators are rooting for to win the most?
11. Which player has the most CPs in their edgic rating so far? (CP = Complex Personality)
12. Which player left has the most N tone ratings in their edgic so far?
13. Which player has played the best in a past season of smogon survivor (not this current season)?
14. Which player is playing the most improved game from their previous season(s)?
15. Which player is most likely to answer all of these questions with themselves?
16. If you were on a deserted island, which player would you like to be with?
17. Which player do you think has the largest Pokemon Plush collection?
18. Who do you think will win this challenge?
19. Which player is most likely to complain that there are so many questions to answer in this challenge?
20. Who on the tribe is most likely to give individual immunity away if they won it?

All of your answers must be the name of a current tribemate; don't answer with the names of eliminated players. You are NOT allowed to talk to others about this challenge whatsoever. The person who guesses what the TRIBE thinks is the right answer the most number of times wins the challenge. You have 24 hours to give your answers. The plurality of individual answers will become the tribe's answer.

Logs weren't saved this time, but basically New Pikachus picked Snowballer, Snowballer, Samoyed, Samoyed and New Eevees picked Shiba, Shiba, Shiba, Wizard. The Wizard rolled a crap initiative roll and couldn't get its shield of flames up before it died on t1. Overall the Pikachus had the better match up and they got mostly slightly-above-average rolls, while the Eevees and their Shibas got slightly-below-average rolls.

Was a relatively shut and closed case (with both match up and rolls favoring one side).

RADicate won individual immunity at the last challenge. At Tribal Council, rssp1 was voted out of the game. He has become the first member of the jury.

For the F12 challenge, the Melmetal will be split into two; the Melt group and the Metal group.

Josh, Trace, AJ, Hilo, Hannah, Umbreon will be in Melt group
Hal, Zelfie, Vooper, RAD, Jalmont, oddish will be in the Metal group.

You will still occupy the same tribal camp, but for the next challenge and tribal council, you will be split into two.

One person from the Melt tribe will win individual immunity, one person from the Metal tribe will win individual immunity. The two groups will go to separate tribal councils, though they are still allowed to talk and strategize with each other. 1 person will be voted out of the Melt group (with only melt group members casting votes) and 1 person will be voted out of the Metal group (with only metal group members casting votes).

Now, time to explain the next individual immunity challenge:

Using their challenge channel, players must post an asterisk once every minute for as long as they can (once, not more than once, just once every minute). Any minute missed or anytime something other than a single * being posted once a minute will cause the player’s chain to break (no special formatting, no other text other than one single *). Once a chain is broken, the player must acknowledge the broken chain but may then restart to try to get a higher chain. If a player does not acknowledge that their chain is broken, anything they do for the challenge will be void until they acknowledge the chain is broken and restart.

The player with the longest chain of asterisks in each group at 5:45 PM EDT 4/16/19 will individual immunity.

Umbreon and vooper won immunity at the last challenge. At tribal council, Hilomilo and Jalmont were voted out of the game.

The next challenges was:

"F10 - Sequence Solver [48 hours]

Every player is given one number. Collectively, all player’s numbers form a numeric sequence that will be obvious once all or enough information is gathered. Players may share their numbers with people they trust and they may lie to others what their numbers are if they so choose. Players have 3 guesses each to make regarding the full sequence of numbers and who has which number. The first player to guess the full list of who has what number wins immunity. If no one guesses correctly, the individual immunity winner will be randomized. It could be a challenge that’s over in five minutes if enough people trust someone,or it could be a challenge that is nearly impossible to solve if people aren’t willing to share and be honest. Good luck castaways. "

AJ solved the challenge in about 30 minutes, earning him individual immunity.
