Early SM UU—specifically, around UUPL V—was a point remembered fondly by many. It was a simpler time, with significantly fewer Mega Evolutions to choose from. Because the meta remained stagnant for three additional months due to difficulties with usage stats, the meta was well-explored and had plenty of creativity. Most importantly, Clefable was UU at the time, and it was the undisputed ruler of the meta. Some or all of this may merely be due to nostalgia; we have not had the chance to play this meta since its cessation a full year ago. This tournament gives us the chance to play this meta once more, to see how vastly UU has changed throughout this generation.

Specific rules:
- Tournament matches must be played in [Gen 7] OU. Please follow the specific banlist carefully. If you do not follow the banlist, you will be disqualified.
- The tournament will be single elimination, and it will be best-of-one.
- NO USUM-EXCLUSIVE MOVES ARE ALLOWED IN THIS TOURNAMENT! This means no Defog Hydreigon/Rotom/Florges/PHeal Glisc/etc., Close Combat Kommo-o, souped-up Photon Geyser+Heat Wave+Earth Power+Signal Beam Necrozma, or anything like that. For an (almost) complete list of USUM-exclusive moves, please check here. (Necrozma and probably some other mons aren't included in the list for some reason. Just double-check with me if you're unsure about any given move) If your replay contains one of your Pokemon using an USUM-exclusive move, your win will not count.
- As this is a static meta, future tiering changes will not impact this tournament. If something rises to OU, then it'll still be allowed in future rounds. If stuff drops to UU, it still won't be allowed.
- Replays are mandatory! Considering the nature of this tournament, I need to see your replays in order to verify that the banlist was followed. If I don't see a replay, your win won't count.
- Sleep Clause: A player cannot put two or more different opposing Pokémon to sleep using attacks that induce sleep to opposing Pokémon.
- Species Clause: A player cannot have two of the same Pokémon on their team. For example, a player cannot have two Koffing on his or her team.
- Evasion Clause: A player cannot use the moves Double Team or Minimize in their Pokémon's movesets.
- OHKO Clause: Players cannot use Horn Drill, Guillotine, Sheer Cold, or Fissure in any of their Pokémon's movesets.
- Timer Clause: If a player exhausts the timer, he/she loses.
- Endless Battle Clause: Any moveset on any pokemon that is capable of intentionally causing an endless battle is banned from competitive play.
