[OVERVIEW]

Clefable was a top-tier Pokemon when Generation 6 was coming to a close, and it seems hard to believe that it has only gotten better since then. With a Fairy typing leaving it weak to only Steel- and Poison-types, a wide movepool, good defenses, and Magic Guard, Clefable became a staple on almost every ORAS OU team. By virtue of its bulk, Clefable can take on many threats to the metagame such as Weavile, Gliscor, Slowbro, Mega Lopunny, and more. When using Calm Mind, Clefable becomes the most threatening Pokemon in this tier, able to sweep any team late-game with minimal support. However, Clefable does not just function as a standalone late-game cleaner; it is also a top-tier support Pokemon, being able to spread status with Thunder Wave, set Stealth Rock, and even remove items with Knock Off. However, due to Clefable’s top usage, there has been a surge in Mega Metagross, Leftovers Excadrill, specially defensive Gliscor, and more Pokemon to check it. Clefable is also rather susceptible to Thunder Wave and Knock Off from Pokemon it usually checks such as Rotom-W, Slowbro, Ferrothorn, and Tornadus-T. Despite teams always running countermeasures for Clefable, it continues to adapt and remain at the very top of the ORAS OU metagame.

Moves
=========
Calm Mind boosts Clefable’s Special Attack and Special Defense, making it both immensely threatening to bulkier teams and incredibly hard to revenge kill. Moonblast is Clefable’s strongest STAB move and boasts a 30% chance to drop the opponent’s Special Attack, aiding in Calm Mind wars against opposing Clefable. Flamethrower is typically chosen as the coverage move of choice, preventing Steel-types such as Mega Metagross, Excadrill, Ferrothorn, Mega Scizor, and Bisharp from switching in freely or setting up. Ice Beam is your next best alternative coverage option so Clefable is not walled by specially defensive Gliscor, and it provides additional support when facing off against opposing Clefable thanks to its 10% chance to freeze. Thunder Wave is useful for crippling opposing Clefable, Mega Metagross, and Tornadus-T, to name a few; however, it is very undesirable to be hard walled by Gliscor and Excadrill. Soft-Boiled is used to keep Clefable healthy throughout the match and allow it to continuously check opposing Pokemon.

There are a great number of acceptable options for Clefable’s last move. Bear in mind that if you are using a mono-attacking set, Moonblast is the most ideal attack of choice. Stealth Rock can be used with Calm Mind for role compression. Encore is an option to lock opposing Clefable, Gliscor, and Mega Slowbro into a boosting move. Knock Off removes Leftovers from Excadrill, Heatran, and other Clefable, aiding its late-game sweep. Thunderbolt in combination with Ice Beam allows Clefable to break through traditional counters such as specially defensive Talonflame, Heatran, and Gliscor. Psyshock is a niche option that allows you to beat other Clefable much more easily and helps with Pokemon such as Suicune and Roost Volcarona.

Set Details
=========
Maximum investment in HP and Defense in tandem with Leftovers allows Clefable to survive a myriad of threats to common OU teams. Attacks such as Choice Band Weavile’s Icicle Crash, boosted Gliscor’s Earthquake, Mega Lopunny’s Return, Choice Scarf Tyranitar’s Stone Edge, and Jolly Mega Medicham’s High Jump Kick into Zen Headbutt are not able to 2HKO Clefable. Magic Guard gives Clefable an immunity to status and entry hazards damage, making it incredibly hard to wear down. A more mixed defensive spread with a Calm nature is perfectly viable, providing a more reliable check to Tornadus-T, Choice Specs Keldeo, and Mega Alakazam. Keep in mind that Ice Beam should only be used on physically defensive EV spreads, as Gliscor’s boosted Earthquakes will 2HKO Clefable otherwise.

Usage Tips
=========
Clefable is an amazing early-game pivot, able to switch into relatively weak Pokemon such as Rotom-W, Slowbro, and Tornadus-T with ease. By virtue of its Fairy typing, Clefable is able to stomach many strong attacks from common Pokémon such as Latios, Weavile, Medicham, and Lopunny. Clefable can even serve as a scout to Pokemon such as Crawdaunt and Keldeo; however, keep in mind that their attacks will deal a large chunk of damage; meaning that Clefable can only switch in once before having to use Soft-Boiled. Magic Guard also allows Clefable to function as a status absorber, taking Scald burns and Toxic that may annoy the team. Flamethrower should be used early-game to chip down the Steel-type that your opponent chooses to send out, while Thunder Wave should be used to inflict status on would-be checks such as Metagross and Heatran. When Clefable’s checks are either significantly weakened or removed, Calm Mind may be used to clean up the remainder of the opponent’s team.

Team Options
=========
Magnezone, particularly with a Choice Scarf, is a great partner, as Magnet Pull allows it to trap Ferrothorn, Mega Scizor, Mega Metagross, and Excadrill, the latter two only if weakened. Gliscor is also a fantastic partner, able to beat almost all of Clefable’s checks and appreciates Clefable being able to switch into Water- and Ice-type attacks. Fire types such as Mega Charizard Y, Heatran, Talonflame, and Volcarona are among the best switch-ins to Clefable. Pokemon such as Garchomp, Tyranitar, and Heatran can check these Pokemon thanks to their resistances and bulk while supporting Clefable by setting Stealth Rock. Latios can function as a temporary check to the threatening Fire-types, but without recovery it will be able to switch in a limited number of times, and it will need a Choice Scarf to outspeed a boosted Volcarona. Rotom-W acts as a pivot on more offensive teams, as it is able to spread status and can safely get Clefable onto the field. Spikes support from Ferrothorn and Skarmory helps wear down the opposing team. Bulky Water-types such as Mega Slowbro and Gastrodon can pivot into Steel- and Fire-types that threaten Clefable and can set up with Calm Mind and Curse, respectively, becoming additional wincons. Mega Scizor; forms a bulky setup core with Clefable it’s able to switch into Steel-types such as Metagross and Excadrill, and it appreciates Clefable being able to switch into Rotom-W. Scizor is also able to remove Heatran's Leftovers for Clefable or outright KO it with Superpower.

Moves
=========
Stealth Rock is mandatory on every team, and Clefable is an excellent user, being able to set them up with ease. Flamethrower is typically used as the attacking move of choice to punish Steel- types like Ferrothorn, Excadrill, Bisharp, Magnezone, and Mega Metagross. Moonblast can be used instead, but keep in mind that you can no longer punish Excadrill attempting to use Rapid Spin, so you will need to have teammates that can punish it. Thunder Wave spreads paralysis, and provides good support for Clefable’s teammates crippling Pokemon such as opposing Clefable and Tornadus-T. Knock Off is a great utility option used to remove Leftovers from common defensive Pokemon, making them easier to wear down. Soft-Boiled allows Clefable to switch into Pokemon it checks and continuously set Stealth Rock. Toxic is an alternative status option that can be used to wear down Pokémon that Stealth Rock Clefable doesn't threaten, such as Mega Slowbro and Zapdos.

Set Details
=========
24 Special Defense EVs allow Clefable to always live Mega Charizard Y’s Fire Blast, letting Clefable potentially cripple it with paralysis. The remaining EVs let Clefable check opposing physical attackers such as Mega Lopunny and Choice Band Weavile along with avoiding the 2HKO from Ferrothorn’s Gyro Ball.

Usage Tips
=========
Stealth Rock should be used early-game, as Clefable has relative ease in setting them up versus many teams. As the game progresses, Clefable should be used to switch into Pokemon such as Weavile, Rotom-W, and Tornadus-T. Spreading paralysis and wearing down Steel-types with Flamethrower is how Clefable earns you progress once Stealth Rock has been set.

Team Options
=========
Rocky Helmet users such as Tangrowth, Skarmory, and Garchomp are great partners to punish Excadrill and Mega Metagross. Jellicent is a shakier check to the previous Pokemon, but it has the added niche of preventing Starmie from using Rapid Spin and reliably switching into Keldeo and Slowbro. Latios makes a good pairing with Clefable on more offensive teams and appreciates Clefable’s ability to check Dragon-, Dark-, and Ice-types along with slowing down Tornadus and wearing down Steel-types with Flamethrower. On bulkier teams, Mega Latias can provide support through Thunder Wave and Calm Mind.

Moves
=========
Moonblast is Clefable’s strongest STAB move and is very difficult to switch into when boosted by a Life Orb. Ice Beam has useful coverage, being able to OHKO Garchomp, Landorus-T, and Gliscor. Soft-Boiled allows Clefable to remain healthy to be able to continuously break through the opponent’s team. Calm Mind in combination with Life Orb makes Clefable an efficient stallbreaker and allows it to win Calm Mind wars. Flamethrower heavily damages Mega Metagross, Ferrothorn, Bisharp, and other Steel-types that would switch into Clefable.

Set Details
=========
72 Special Attack EVs with a Modest nature allow Clefable to OHKO specially defensive Gliscor. 12 Speed EVs allow Clefable to outspeed Tyranitar with no Speed investment, but more importantly to Speed creep other Clefable. Maximum HP investment alongside 172 Def EVs allows Clefable to better check Pokemon such as Garchomp and Gliscor.

Usage Tips
=========
The lack of Leftovers and Defense investment on this set means that you won’t get as much use out of using Clefable as a counter to many of the Pokemon it normally beats; Pokemon such as Mega Lopunny and Weavile are able to 2HKO Clefable with their STAB moves. Instead, this set should be used as a mid-game wallbreaker and late-game cleaner. Throwing out Moonblast once Stealth Rock has been set is your best option at breaking, as few Pokemon can continuously switch in. When facing a boosted Gliscor, use Ice Beam to OHKO it and fire off Flamethrower on predicted Steel-type switch-ins. Calm Mind can be used late-game or if your opponent has a Calm Mind Clefable. With Life Orb, Clefable will almost always beat opposing Clefable in a Calm Mind war.

Team Options
=========
Pivots such as Tornadus-T and Rotom-W can bring Clefable in safely. Gastrodon, Skarmory, and Ferrothorn can all help check Mega Metagross with the added bonus of checking Weavile, which this set cannot do. Thunder Wave users such as Ferrothorn, Mega Latias, and Rotom-W aid Clefable in Calm Mind wars versus opposing Clefable. Psychic-types like Latios and Mega Alakazam appreciate Clefable weakening Steel-types with Flamethrower. Steel-types like Bisharp and Excadrill benefit from Gliscor being knocked out by Ice Beam.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]

Other Options
=========
Unaware is another option that could be used on stall teams, but it is completely outclassed by Magic Guard and used better by Quagsire. Healing Wish can be used with Calm Mind or Stealth Rock, bringing back a teammate at low health after Clefable has done its job. Trick with a Choice Scarf can be used to cripple opposing setup sweepers such as Gliscor, Suicune, and Clefable, but bear in mind that Clefable fails to outspeed many Pokemon without heavy investment in Speed. Toxic can cripple Slowbro but is generally less useful than Thunder Wave. Stored Power alongside Calm Mind can be used to blow through Pokemon such as Quagsire and Chansey.

Checks and Counters
=========

**Steel-types**: Mega Metagross is the best offensive counter to Clefable, being able to OHKO it with Meteor Mash while not minding any of its moves barring a Life Orb-boosted Flamethrower or Thunder Wave. Excadrill with Leftovers walls most Clefable sets and can continuously switch in and force it out. Magnezone is able to check Clefable with Flash Cannon and fish for critical hits or Special Defense drops. Heatran can shut down Clefable with Taunt, preventing it from using Soft-Boiled, Thunder Wave, and Calm Mind. Mega Scizor comes in on any set that lacks Flamethrower and uses Clefable as setup fodder.

**Strong Attackers**: Mega Charizard Y can force Clefable out with Flamethrower and isn’t threatened by anything barring Thunderbolt and Thunder Wave. Choice Specs Keldeo heavily damages Clefable and even 2HKOes non-specially defensive Clefable after a Calm Mind with Hydro Pump. Choice Specs Latios’s Psychic can 2HKO Clefable and cripple it with Trick.

**Bulky Setup Pokemon**: Calm Mind Mega Slowbro can set up alongside Clefable and OHKO it with a boosted Psyshock. Swords Dance Gliscor beats any Clefable set without Ice Beam. Suicune with Substitute can PP stall Clefable or phaze it with Roar.

**Fire- and Poison-types**: Talonflame and Mega Charizard Y can switch into Clefable with relative ease, only being threatened by Thunder Wave and Thunderbolt. Amoonguss can put Clefable to sleep and remove its boosts with Clear Smog. Venusaur can use Knock Off to remove Clefable’s Leftovers or Life Orb and proceed to heavily damage it with Sludge Bomb. Heatran takes little from Clefable’s attacks and can cripple it with Taunt to force it to attack and waste its PP. Volcarona can set up alongside Clefable lacking Thunder Wave and out damage it with Fire Blast.

On CM Clefable In the Moves section
I dont think CM + Knock off is a viable option
If you wanna go for a utility move last it should be TWave which is excellent for cripplin pokemons like Mega Metagross, Charizard Y, Heatran aswell as other defensive CM users like Slowbro and Clef.
Knock off would indeed help in the end game scenarios of CM wars but Twave does exactly that and has more utility / value versus both offense and balance teams with a few exceptions of Spdef Excadrill, Gliscor and electric types like Specs Magnezone and LO Thundurus.
Knock off should be used in Stealth Rock sets instead.

In the Set-details
i feel examples of EV Spreads for mixed defense Clefables should be given as you dont usually just slap a random number of spdef and defense on it, there are specific marks and pokemons you tryin to cover with those EVs.
For example the 216 Defense Bold Clefable allowin it to always live 2 HJKs from Adamant Mega Medicham or the known - still viable Calm 172 Defense 84 Spdef set.

In the Usage Tips there are lots of things could be included, how it can be used early game to check and yum common atks from pokemons like Lopunny and Weavile which doesnt make it pivot btw as Clef usually loses you momentum.
How in combination with other pokemons it can setup early and weaken/get rid of opposing checks for its teammates or used lategame to end up games dependin on the matchup but in that case it cant be thrown into hits easily as keepin it low in HP decreases the chances of end-game sweeping

In the Team Options
This section's thought process could be thought in more depth about the pokemons synergy other than Typings and Trapping Steel Types.
Should definitely include Tornadus-t in it.

On Stealth Rocks Clefable set
This is where Knock off should be mentioned and what its utility is versus pokemons like Chansey so your special atk hitters in the back can potentially break it
Its not just Chansey ofc, it has many more benefits like gettin rid of Excadrill's Leftovers for your psychics, gettin rid of Assault Vest from pokemons like AV Torn and Tangrowth for pokemons like Keldeo and Mega Zam and it should be slashed next to Twave or atleast get a mention somewhere in this set.

I dont like the simplicity of this set not gettin in detail about its use and what its supposed to check and accomplish even tho for someone with abit of experience its not very to hard to tell what this set is doing like how its a fighting, dark, dragon types check.
Still there are details like how for example it can check all common Dark Types except Bisharp (and the rare Crawdaunt) so it should have partners that do support it versus bish or how Weavile and Mega Medicham can potentially break it in 1v1 with their Secondary stab moves having chances to Flinch it so it can not be throwin versus those hitters easily

LO Set looks good and detailed.

Overall looks good but ill QC if more detail is added.
Its the superstar of the generation and many people who want to learn the generation might wonder what its use is so i feel it should be described in alot of detail.

I agree with everything savouras said. On the rocks clefable set i think you should include knock off and toxic as alternatives to thunder wave. i also think you should include scizor mega as a potential partner, as it appreciates heatran getting t-waved/knocked and clef being able to switch into rotom-w. and clef appreciates scizor potentially luring in tran with knock/sp, as well as scizor's ability to switch into metagross and excadrill.

Everything else Savouras already covered, so once you add all of that QC 1/2

Calm Mind boosts both of Clefable’s special attributes, making it both immensely threatening to bulkier styles of teams and incredibly hard to revenge kill. Moonblast is Clefable’s strongest stab STAB move and boasts a 30% chance to drop the opponent’s Special Attack, aiding in Calm Mind Clefable wars. Flamethrower is typically chosen as the coverage move of choice, preventing Steel-types (AH) such as Mega Metagross, Excadrill, Ferrothorn, Mega Scizor, and Bisharp from switching in freely or setting up. Maximum investment in both HP and Defense, in tandem with leftovers, allows Clefable to survive a myriad of threats to common OU teams. Pokemon such as Band Weavile’s Icicle Crash, boosted Gliscor’s Earthquake, Mega Lopunny’s Return, Scarf Tyranitar’s Stone Edge, and Jolly Mega Medicham’s High Jump Kick into Zen Headbutt are not able to 2HKO Clefable. Magic Guard gives Clefable an immunity to status and hazards damage, making it incredibly hard to wear down. A more mixed defensive spread with Calm Nature is perfectly viable providing an easier check to Tornadus-T, Specs Keldeo, and Mega Alakazam. Keep in mind Ice Beam should only be used on physically defensive EV spreads as Gliscors boosted Earthquakes will 2HKO you otherwise Clefable.

[USAGE TIPS]
=========
Clefable is an amazing early-game (AH) pivot, able to switch into relatively weak Pokemon such as Rotom-W, Slowbro and Tornadus-T with ease. By virtue of it’s (RA) Fairy typing Clefable is able to stomach many strong attacks from common Pokémon such as Latios, Weavile, Medicham, and Lopunny. Clefable can ever even (I am assuming you mean this base of the xontext here) serve as a scout to Pokemon (no accented "e" here) such as Crawdaunt and Keldeo, keep in mind their attacks will take a large chunk out of Clefable's health and can therefore only switch-in once before having to use Soft-Boiled. Magic Guard also allows Clefable to function as a status absorber, taking Scald burns and Toxic that may annoy the team. Flamethrower should be clicked early-game (AH) to chip down the Steel-type (AH)that your opponent chooses to switch-in (AH), or Thunder Wave to status would-be (RH) checks such as Metagross and Heatran. When Clefable’s checks are either significantly weakened or removed, Calm Mind may be used to clean up the remainder of the opponent’s team.

[TEAM OPTIONS]
=========
Magnezone, particularly with a Choice Scarf, is a great partner to pair with Clefable. Magnet Pull allows Magnezone to trap Ferrothorn, Mega Scizor, Mega Metagross and Excadrill, if the latter two are weakened. Gliscor is a fantastic partner, able to beat almost all of Clefable’s checks and appreciates Clefable being able to switch into Water- and Ice-type (AH) attacks. Fire-types (AH) such as Mega Charizard Y, Heatran, Talonflame, and Volcarona are among the best switch-ins (AH) to Clefable. Pokemon such as Garchomp, Tyranitar, and Heatran can check the listed Pokemon by manner of their resistances and bulk, and support Clefable by setting up Stealth Rocks. Latios can function as a temporary check to the threatening Fire-types (AH), but without recovery will be able to switch-in (AH) a limited number of times, and will need a Choice Scarf to be able to outspeed a boosted Volcarona. Rotom-W acts as a pivot on more offensive teams, is able to spread status, and can safely get Clefable onto the field. Spikes support from Ferrothorn and Skarmory help wear down the opposing team. Bulky Water-types such as Mega Slowbro and Gastrodon can pivot into Steel- (AH) and Fire-types that threaten Clefable, and can set up with Calm Mind and Curse respectively, becoming another win condition. Mega Scizor forms a bulky setup sweeper core with Clefable and is able to switch into Steel-types such as Metagross and Excadrill and appreciates Clefable being able to switch into Rotom-W. Stealth Rocks are mandatory on every team and Clefable is an excellent user, able to set them up with ease. Flamethrower is typically used as the attacking move of choice to punish Steel-types (AH) like Ferrothorn, Excadrill, Bisharp, Magnezone, and Metagross. Moonblast can be used but keep in mind that you can no longer punish Excadrill that wants to Rapid Spin so you will need to have teammates who can punish him. Thunder Wave spreads paralysis and provides good support for Clefable’s teammates crippling Pokemon such as opposing Clefable and Tornadus. Knock Off is a great utility option used to remove Leftovers from common defensive Pokemon making them easier to wear down. Soft-Boiled allows Clefable to switch into the Pokemon it checks and continuously set Stealth Rocks up. Toxic is an alternative status option that can be used to wear down Pokémon that Stealth Rock rocks Clefable doesn't threaten such as Mega Slowbro and Zapdos.

[SET DETAILS]

24 Special Defense allows Clefable to always live Charizard’s Fire Blast letting you potentially cripple it with paralysis. The remaining EVs let Clefable check opposing physical attackers such as Mega Lopunny and Choice Band Weavile, along with not being 2HKOed by Ferrothorn’s Gyro Ball.

[USAGE TIPS]
=========
Stealth Rocks should be used early-game as Clefable has relative ease in setting them up vs many teams. As the game progresses Clefable should be used to switch into Pokemon such as Weavile, Rotom-W, and Tornadus. Spreading paralysis and wearing down Steel-types with Flamethrower is how this Clefable earns you progress once Stealth Rocks have been set up.

[TEAM OPTIONS]

Rocky Helmet users such as Tangrowth, Skarmory, and Garchomp are great partners to punish Excadrill and Mega Metagross. Jellicent is a more shaky check to the previous Pokemon, but with the added niche of preventing Starmie from using Rapid Spin, and reliably switching into Keldeo and Slowbro. Latios makes a good pairing with Clefable on more offensive teams and appreciates Clefable’s ability to check to Dragon-, (AH) Dark-, (AH) and Ice-types along with slowing down Tornadus and wearing down Steel-types with Flamethrower. Moonblast is Clefable’s strongest stab STAB move and is very difficult to switch into when aided by a Life Orb. Ice Beam is useful coverage able to hit One-Shot OHKO Garchomp, Landorus-Therian, and Gliscor. Soft-Boiled allows Clefable to remain healthy to be able to continuously break through the opponent’s team. Calm Mind in combination with Life Orb makes Clefable an efficient stallbreaker, and allows Clefable to win Calm Mind wars. Flamethrower heavily damages Metagross, Ferrothorn, Bisharp, and other Steel-types that would switch into Clefable.

[SET DETAILS]
=========
72 Special Attack with a Modest nature allows Clefable to OHKO specially defensive Gliscor. 12 Speed investment allows Clefable to outspeed Tyranitar with no Speed investment, but more importantly allows you to speed creep other Clefables. HP is maxed out along with the rest of the EVs going into Defense to allow Clefable to better check Pokemon such as Garchomp and Gliscor.

[USAGE TIPS]
=========
The lack of Leftovers and defensive investment on this set means that you won’t get much use out of using it as a counter to many of the Pokemon Clefable normally beats. Pokemon such as Mega Lopunny and Weavile are able to 2HKO you Clefable with their stab STAB moves. Instead, this set should be used as a mid-game breaker and a late-game cleaner. Throwing out Moonblasts once Stealth Rocks have been set up are your best option at breaking, as very little can continuously switch-in (AH). When facing a boosted Gliscor use Ice Beam to OHKO it,(RC) and fire off Flamethrowers on predicted Steel-type switch ins switch-ins. Calm Mind can be used either late- game (AH) or if your opponent has a Clefable that also uses Calm Mind. With Life Orb this Clefable will almost always beat opposing Clefables in a Calm Mind war.

[TEAM OPTIONS]
=========
Pivots such as Tornadus-T and Rotom-W can bring Clefable in safely. Gastrodon, Skarmory, and Ferrothorn can all help check Metagross, with the added bonus of checking Weavile which this set cannot do. Thunder Wave users such as Ferrothorn, Mega Latias, and Rotom-W aid you in Clefable wars. Psychic-types like Latios and Mega Alakazam appreciate Clefable weakening Steel-types with Flamethrower. Steel-types like Bisharp and Excadrill benefit from Gliscor being knocked out by Ice Beam.

Unaware is another option that could be used on stall teams but is completely outclassed by Magic Guard and performed better by Quagsire. Healing Wish can be used with Calm Mind or Stealth Rocks, bringing back a low health teammate after Clefable has done its job. Trick with a Choice Scarf can be used to cripple opposing setup sweepers such as Gliscor, Suicune, and Clefable, but bear in mind Clefable fails to outspeed many Pokemon without heavy investment in Speed. Toxic can cripple Slowbro but is generally less useful than Thunder Wave. Stored Power alongside Calm Mind can be used to blow through Pokemon such as Quagsire and Chansey.

[CHECKS AND COUNTERS]
=========

  • Steel-types: Mega Metagross is the best offensive counter being able to OHKO with Meteor Mash while not minding any of its (RA) attacks barring a Life Orb Flamethrower or Thunder Wave. Excadrill with Leftovers walls most Clefable sets and can continuously switch-in (AH) and force Clefable out. Magnezone is able to check Clefable with Flash Cannon and fish for crits critical hits or Special Defense drops. Heatran can Taunt Clefable preventing Soft-Boiled, Thunder Wave, and Calm Mind. Mega Scizor comes in on any set that lacks Flamethrower and uses Clefable as setup fodder.

  • Strong Attackers: Mega Charizard-Y (RH) can force Clefable out with Flamethrower and isn’t threatened by anything barring Thunderbolt and Thunder Wave. Keldeo using Choice Specs and Hydro Pump heavily damages Clefable, and even 2HKOes non specially defensive Clefable after a Calm Mind. Choice Specs Latios's (AA) Psychic can 2HKOES Clefable, (RC) and can cripple it with Trick.

  • Bulky Setup Pokemon: Calm Mind Mega Slowbro can set up alongside Clefable and OHKO with a boosted Psyshock. Swords Dance Gliscor beats any Clefable set without Ice Beam. Suicune with Substitute can stall Clefable out of attacks or Roar to phase it out.

  • Fire and Poison-types: Talonflame and Mega Charizard-Y (RH) can switch into Clefable with relative ease only being threatened by Thunder Wave and Thunderbolt. Amoonguss can put Clefable to sleep and remove its (RA)boosts with Clear Smog. Venusaur can use Knock Off to remove Clefable’s Leftovers or Life Orb and proceed to heavily damage Clefable with Sludge Bomb. Heatran takes little from Clefable’s attacks and can Taunt to force Clefable to expend attack pp. Volcarona can set up alongside Clefable without Thunder Wave and out damage with Fire Blast.

[OVERVIEW]

Clefable was a top tier Pokemon when Gen 6 was coming to a close, and it seems hard to believe that it has only gotten better since then. (analyses should be present tense on current situations without the past/temporary trends/etc.) With a Fairy typing leaving it weak to only Steel- and Poison-types, an excellent defensive Fairy typing, (we can assume reader knows type matchups, so this is fluff) a wide movepool, good defenses, and Magic Guard, Clefable became is a staple on almost every ORAS OU team. By virtue of its bulk, Clefable can take on many threats to in the metagame(AC), such as Weavile, Gliscor, Slowbro, Lopunny and more. and Mega Lopunny. ("such as" + "and more" is redundant) When using Calm Mind(AC), Clefable becomes the most threatening Pokemon in this the tier, able to sweep any team late-game(AH) with minimal support. However, Clefable does not just function as a standalone late-game cleaner(RCS); it is also a top-tier support Pokemon, being able to spread status with Thunder Wave, set Stealth Rock up, and even remove items with Knock Off. Due to Clefable’s top extremely high usage there has been a surge in (AC), Pokemon such as Mega Metagross, Leftovers Excadrill, specially defensive Gliscor, and more pokemon to check it. that can check it are very common. Clefable is also rather susceptible to catching a Thunder Wave or Knock Off from Pokemon it usually checks(AC), such as Rotom-W, Ferrothorn, Tornadus-T, and Slowbro. Despite teams always running countermeasures for Clefable, it continues to adapt and its adaptability lets it ("trends" idea in first comment) remain at the very top of the ORAS OU metagame.

Calm Mind boosts both of Clefable’s special attributes, making it makes Clefable (fluff) both immensely threatening to bulkier styles of (subjective - awkwardness) teams and incredibly hard to revenge kill. Moonblast is Clefable’s strongest stab move and boasts a 30% Moonblast's (fluff) chance to drop the opponent’s special attack, aiding foe's Special Attack aids Clefable in Calm Mind Clefable wars. (either just "...in Calm Mind wars." as I did, or "... in Calm Mind wars against opposing Clefable.", whichever is more accurate.) Flamethrower is typically chosen as the coverage move of choice, coverage, (redundancy) preventing Steel-types(AH) such as Mega Metagross, Excadrill, Ferrothorn, Mega Scizor, and Bisharp from switching in freely or setting up. Ice Beam is your next best alternative (it is THE single best coverage option) coverage option so (AC), used so that Clefable is not walled by specially defensive Gliscor(RC), and provides and to have another out when facing off against other Clefables opposing Clefable in the form of a freeze. Thunder Wave is useful for crippling opposing Clefable, Mega Metagross, and Tornadus-T to name a few, however it is very undesirable being but it very undesirably leaves Clefable hard-walled by Gliscor and Excadrill. Soft-Boiled is used to keep Clefable healthy throughout the match and allow allows it to continuously check opposing Pokemon.

There are a great number of acceptable options for Clefable’s last move. Bear in mind that, if you are using mono-attack Clefable, Moonblast is the most (redundancy) ideal attack of Choice. choice. Stealth Rock can be used with Calm Mind for role compression. Encore is an option to lock opposing Clefable, Gliscor, and Mega Slowbro into a boosting move. Knock Off removes Leftovers from Excadrill, Heatran, and other Clefable, aiding in your Calm Mind late-game(AH) sweep. Thunderbolt in combination with Ice Beam allows Clefable to break through traditional counters such as specially defensive Talonflame, Heatran, and Gliscor. Psyshock is a niche option that allows you Clefable to beat other Clefable much easier, more easily, and it helps with Pokemon such as Suicune and Roost Volcarona.

[SET DETAILS]
=========
Maximum investment in both HP and Defense, in tandem with leftovers, allows Clefable to survive a myriad of threats to common OU teams. Pokemon (fluff for the first sentence) Attacks such as Choice Band Weavile’s Icicle Crash, boosted +2 (clarity) Gliscor’s Earthquake, Mega Lopunny’s Return, Choice Scarf Tyranitar’s Stone Edge, and Jolly Mega Medicham’s High Jump Kick into Zen Headbutt are not able to 2HKO Clefable thanks to its physically defensive spread and Leftovers. Magic Guard gives Clefable an immunity to status and hazards damage, making it makes Clefable (fluff) incredibly hard to wear down. A more mixed defensive spread with a (note in case this could be missed) Calm Nature is perfectly viable(AC), providing an easier check to Tornadus-T, Choice Specs Keldeo, and Mega Alakazam. Keep in mind that Ice Beam should only be used on physically defensive EV spreads(AC), as Gliscor's boosted Earthquakes will 2HKO you (KO Clefable, not a player) otherwise.

[USAGE TIPS]
=========
Clefable is an amazing early-game(AH) pivot, able to switch into relatively weak Pokemon such as Rotom-W, Slowbro(AC), and Tornadus-T with ease. By virtue of it's its Fairy typing(AC), Clefable is able to stomach many strong attacks from common Pokemon such as Latios, Weavile, Medicham, and Mega Lopunny. Clefable can ever even serve as a scout to Pokemon such as Crawdaunt and Keldeo, but keep in mind that their attacks will take a large chunk out of Clefable's health and it can therefore only switch in once before having to use Soft-Boiled. Magic Guard also allows Clefable to function as a status absorber, taking Scald burns and Toxic poison that may annoy the team. Flamethrower should be clicked early game used often early-(AH)game to chip down the Steel-type that your opponent chooses to switch in, or into Clefable, as should Thunder Wave(AC), if it is run instead(AC), (clarity that you aren't using both at once) to status would-be checks such as Mega Metagross and Heatran. When Clefable’s checks are either significantly weakened or removed, Calm Mind may be used to clean up the remainder of the opponent’s team.

[TEAM OPTIONS]
=========
Magnezone, particularly with a Choice Scarf, is a great partner to pair with Clefable. Magnet Pull allows Magnezone to trap Ferrothorn, Mega Scizor, Mega Metagross(AC), and Excadrill(RC), if the latter two are weakened. Gliscor is a fantastic partner, able to beat almost all of Clefable’s checks and appreciating Clefable being able to switch into Water- and Ice-type attacks. Fire-types(AH) such as Mega Charizard Y, Heatran, Talonflame, and Volcarona are among the best switch-ins(AH) to Clefable. Pokemon such as Garchomp, Tyranitar, and Heatran can check the listed Pokemon by manner means of their resistances and bulk, and can support Clefable by setting up Stealth Rock. Latios can function as a temporary check to the threatening Fire-types(AH), but without recovery will be able to switch in a limited number of times, will only be able to switch into them a limited number of times without recovery, (parallelism) and will need a Choice Scarf to be able to outspeed a boosted Volcarona. Rotom-W acts as a pivot on more offensive teams(RC), is able to spread status, and can safely get Clefable onto the field. able to safely get Clefable onto the field and spread status. (getting Clef a safe switch-in is a sub-point of being a pivot, not separate) Spikes support from Ferrothorn and Skarmory helps wear down the opposing team. Bulky Water-types such as Mega Slowbro and Gastrodon can pivot into Steel- and Fire-types that threaten Clefable, and the aforementioned pair (not all bulky waters can do this) can set up with Calm Mind and Curse(AC), respectively, becoming another win condition. Mega Scizor forms a bulky setup sweeper core with Clefable and is able to switch into Steel-types such as Metagross and Excadrill(AC), (run-on) and it appreciates Clefable being able to switch into Rotom-W. Mega Scizor is also able to remove Heatran's Leftovers for Clefable or outright kill KO it with Superpower.

Stealth Rocks are Rock is mandatory on every team and Clefable is an excellent user of the move, able to set them it up with ease. Flamethrower is typically used as (redundancy) the attacking move of choice to punish Steel-types like Ferrothorn, Excadrill, Bisharp, Magnezone, and Metagross. Moonblast can be used instead(AC), (the "instead" is subjective - clarity) but keep in mind that you can no longer punish Excadrill that wants to rapid spin want to use Rapid Spin(AC), so you will need to have teammates who can punish him. that can punish it. Thunder Wave spreads paralysis and provides good support for Clefable’s teammates(AC), crippling Pokemon such as opposing Clefable and Tornadus. Knock Off is a great utility option used to remove Leftovers from common defensive Pokémon(AC), making them easier to wear down. Soft-Boiled allows Clefable to switch into the Pokemon it checks and continuously set Stealth Rock up. Toxic is an alternative status option over Thunder Wave (I assume you'd never run the two together. You can also move this sentence directly after the Thunder Wave one, and if you do that, you don't need the "over Thunder Wave") that can be used to wear down Pokémon that rocks ("this set of" can be assumed) Clefable doesn't threaten(AC), such as Mega Slowbro and Zapdos.

[SET DETAILS]
=========
24 Special Defence allows Defense EVs allow Clefable to always live Charizard's withstand Mega Charizard Y's ("live" change is for the same reason I changed "kill" earlier) Fire Blast(AC), letting you potentially cripple it with paralysis. The remaining EVs let Clefable check opposing physical attackers such as Mega Lopunny and Choice Band Weavile, along with not being 2HKOED and ensure that it is not 2HKOed by Ferrothorn’s Gyro Ball.

[USAGE TIPS]
=========
Stealth Rock should be used early-(AH)game(AC), as Clefable has relative ease in setting them up versus many teams. As the game progresses(AC), Clefable should be used to switch into Pokemon such as Weavile, Rotom-W, and Tornadus. Spreading paralysis and wearing down Steel-types with Flamethrower is how this Clefable earns you progress set contributes ("earn progress" is for quantity-based progress) once Stealth Rocks have Rock has been set up.

[TEAM OPTIONS]
=========
Rocky Helmet users such as Tangrowth, Skarmory, and Garchomp are great partners to punish Excadrill and Mega Metagross. Jellicent is a more shaky check to the previous Pokemon, but with has the added niche niches of preventing Starmie from using Rapid Spin(RC), and reliably switching into Keldeo and Slowbro. Latios makes a good pairing with Clefable on more offensive teams and appreciates Clefable’s ability to check to Dragon, Dark, and Ice-types Dragon-, Dark-, and Ice-types along with slowing down Tornadus and wearing down Steel-types with Flamethrower. On bulkier teams(AC), Mega Latias makes a nice contrast to performs similarly to (This was my best guess. If there's a more accurate description, you should use it, but I didn't really get what you meant by "makes a nice contrast".) Latios but also serves as a win condition(AP).

[MOVES]

Moonblast is Clefable’s strongest stab move and (fluff) is very difficult to switch into when aided boosted by a Life Orb. Ice Beam is useful coverage able to hit One-Shot to OHKO Garchomp, Landorus-T, and Gliscor. Soft-Boiled allows Clefable to remain healthy to be able to continuously break through the opponent’s team. Calm Mind in combination with Life Orb makes Clefable an efficient stallbreaker(RC), and Life Orb (clarity on which makes the difference) allows Clefable to win Calm Mind wars. Flamethrower heavily damages Mega Metagross, Ferrothorn, Bisharp, and other Steel-types that would switch into Clefable.

[SET DETAILS]

72 Special Attack EVs with a Modest nature allows allow Clefable to OHKO specially defensive Gliscor. 12 Speed EVs of investment allows Clefable to outspeed Tyranitar with no Speed investment, but more importantly allows it to speed creep other Clefables uninvested Clefable. ("uninvested" is important, because speed creeps should either beat fully invested or uninvested Pokemon) [BREAK] HP is maxed out along with the The (redundancy/awkwardness) rest of the EVs going into HP and Defense to allow allows Clefable to better check Pokemon such as Garchomp and Gliscor.

[USAGE TIPS]
=========
The lack of Leftovers and or defensive investment on this set means that you won’t get much use out of using it as a counter to Clefable won't counter (subjective - awkwardness) many of the Pokemon Clefable it normally beats. Pokemon such as Mega Lopunny and Weavile are able to 2HKO you with their STAB moves. Instead, this set should be used as a mid-game breaker and a late-game cleaner. Throwing out Moonblasts once Stealth Rocks have Rock has been set up are is your best option at for breaking, as very little can continuously switch in. into it. When facing a boosted Gliscor(AC), use Ice Beam to OHKO it, and fire off Flamethrowers on predicted Steel-type switch-ins(AH). Calm Mind can be used either late-game(AH) or if your opponent has a Clefable that also uses Calm Mind. also has Calm Mind Clefable. (subjective - awkwardness) With Life Orb(AC), this Clefable will almost always beat opposing Clefable in a Calm Mind war.

[TEAM OPTIONS]
=========
Pivots such as Tornadus-T and Rotom-W can bring Clefable in safely. Gastrodon, Skarmory, and Ferrothorn can all help check Mega Metagross, with the added bonus of checking Weavile(AC), which this set cannot do. Thunder Wave users such as Ferrothorn, Mega Latias, and Rotom-W aid you in Calm Mind (clarity) Clefable wars. Psychic-types like Latios and Mega Alakazam appreciate Clefable weakening Steel-types with Flamethrower. Steel-types like Bisharp and Excadrill benefit from Gliscor being knocked out by Ice Beam.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]

[OTHER OPTIONS]
=========
Unaware is another option an ability that could be used on stall teams but is completely outclassed by Magic Guard and performed better by Quagsire. (AC), but Quagsire performs this role better, and it is otherwise completely outclassed by Magic Guard. (clarity, unless Magic Guard outclasses Unaware on Stall, in which case ignore this correction except for: the first added comma and adding "this role is" before "performed") Healing Wish can be used with Calm Mind or Stealth Rock, [BREAK] bringing back restoring ("bringing back" implies "from fainting") a low-health(AH) teammate after Clefable has done its job. Trick with a Choice Scarf can be used to cripple opposing (it's more valuable later) setup sweepers such as Gliscor, Suicune, and opposing Clefable, but bear in mind that Clefable fails to outspeed many Pokemon without heavy investment in Speed. Toxic can cripple Slowbro but is generally less useful than Thunder Wave. Stored Power alongside Calm Mind can be used to blow through Pokemon such as Quagsire and Chansey.

For clarity, if you implement the AM check above mine first and then mine, below are the changes the above check made and I did not that could otherwise be confusing, so you can choose which suggested change among ours to follow:
Calm Mind Details: changing "will 2HKO you otherwise." to "will 2HKO Clefable." I change to "will 2HKO otherwise."
Calm Mind Usage: removing hyphen from "would-be". I do not remove the hyphen.
Stealth Rock Moves: changing "that rocks Clefable" to "that Stealth Rock". I change it to "that Clefable".
Stealth Rock Team Options: changing "win-condition" to "wincon". I only replace the hyphen in "win-condition" with a space.
Life Orb Usage Tips: changing "and Weavile able to 2HKO you" to "and Weavile able to 2HKO Clefable". I instead just remove the "you".
Life Orb Usage Tips: removing the comma in "Gliscor use Ice Beam to OHKO it,". I do not remove the comma.
Checks and Counters 1: adding a hyphen to "can continuously switch-in (AH)". I do not add a hyphen.
Checks and Counters 2: removing the "es" from "Clefable, and even 2HKOes". I restructure the sentence instead.
Checks and Counters 2: Restructuring the final sentence. I restructure it in a different way.

While doing this, I noticed I forgot to correct incorrect capitalization/punctuation of "Pokemon" in places, so I fixed that.

Jellicent is a more shaky shakier check to the previous Pokemon, but with the added niche of preventing Starmie from using Rapid Spin,(RC) and reliably switching into Keldeo and Slowbro. Latios makes a good pairing with Clefable on more offensive teams and appreciates Clefable’s ability to check Dragon-, Dark-, and Ice-types along with slowing down Tornadus and wearing down Steel-types with Flamethrower. On bulkier teams,(AC) Mega Latias makes a nice contrast to Latios (Not really sure what you were trying to say here, I'd recommend being more specific on how and why Latias makes a contrast with Latios.) but also serves as a wincon.

Moonblast is Clefable’s strongest STAB move and is very difficult to switch into when aided boosted by a Life Orb. Ice Beam is has useful coverage,(AC) being able to OHKO Garchomp, Landorus-T, and Gliscor. Soft-Boiled allows Clefable to remain healthy to be able to continuously break through the opponent’s team. Calm Mind in combination with Life Orb makes Clefable an efficient stallbreaker,(RC) and allows Clefable it to win Calm Mind wars. Flamethrower heavily damages Metagross, Ferrothorn, Bisharp, and other Steel-types that would switch into Clefable.

72 Special Attack EVs with a Modest nature allows allow Clefable to OHKO specially defensive Gliscor. 12 Speed investment allows Clefable to outspeed Tyranitar with no speed Speed investment, but more importantly allows you to Speed creep other Clefables Clefable. HP is maxed out along with the rest of the EVs going into Defense to allow Clefable to better check Pokemon such as Garchomp and Gliscor.

[USAGE TIPS] Usage Tips
=========

The lack of Leftovers and defensive Defense investment on this set means that you won’t get as much use out of using it as a counter to many of the Pokemon Clefable normally beats.(RP) ,(AC) as Pokemon such as Mega Lopunny and Weavile are able to 2HKO Clefable with their STAB moves. Instead, this set should be used as a mid-game wallbreaker and a late-game cleaner. Throwing out Moonblasts once Stealth Rocks have Rock has been set up are is your best option at breaking to wallbreak, as very little few Pokemon can continuously switch-in switch in. When facing a boosted Gliscor,(AC) use Ice Beam to OHKO it and fire off Flamethrowers on predicted Steel-type switch-ins. Calm Mind can be used either late-game or if your opponent has a Clefable that also uses Calm Mind Clefable. With Life Orb this ,(AC) Clefable will almost always beat opposing Clefables Clefable in a Calm Mind war.

[TEAM OPTIONS] Team Options
=========

Pivots such as Tornadus-T and Rotom-W can bring Clefable in safely. Gastrodon, Skarmory, and Ferrothorn can all help check Metagross, with the added bonus of checking Weavile,(AC) which this set cannot do. Thunder Wave users such as Ferrothorn, Mega Latias, and Rotom-W aid you in Clefable Calm Mind wars versus opposing Clefable. Psychic-types like Latios and Mega Alakazam appreciate Clefable weakening Steel-types with Flamethrower. Steel-types like Bisharp and Excadrill benefit from Gliscor being knocked out by Ice Beam.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
[OTHER OPTIONS] Other Options
=========

Unaware is another option that could be used on stall teams,(AC) but is it's completely outclassed by Magic Guard and performed used better by Quagsire. Healing Wish can be used with Calm Mind or Stealth Rocks Rock, bringing back a teammate at low health teammate after Clefable has done its job.

[CHECKS AND COUNTERS] Checks and Counters
=========

**Steel-types**: Mega Metagross is the best offensive counter to Clefable,(AC) being able to OHKO it with Meteor Mash while not minding any of its attacks barring a Life Orb Flamethrower or Thunder Wave. Excadrill with Leftovers walls most Clefable sets and can continuously switch in and force Clefable out. Magnezone is able to check Clefable with Flash Cannon and fish for critical hits or Special Defense drops. Heatran can shut down Clefable with Taunt Clefable ,(AC) preventing it from using Soft-Boiled, Thunder Wave, and Calm Mind. Mega Scizor comes in on any set that lacks Flamethrower and uses Clefable as setup fodder.

**Strong Attackers**: Mega CharizardY Charizard Y can force Clefable out with Flamethrower and isn’t threatened by anything barring Thunderbolt and Thunder Wave. Choice Specs Keldeo using Choice Specs and Hydro Pump heavily damages Clefable,(RC) and even 2HKOes non-specially(AH) defensive Clefable after a Calm Mind with Hydro Pump.

Suicune with Substitute can PP stall Clefable out of attacks or Roar to phase it out or phaze it with Roar.

**Fire-(AH) and Poison-types**: Talonflame and Mega CharizardY Charizard Y can switch into Clefable with relative ease,(AC) only being threatened by Thunder Wave and Thunderbolt. Amoonguss can put Clefable to sleep and remove its boosts with Clear Smog. Venusaur can use Knock Off to remove Clefable’s Leftovers or Life Orb and proceed to heavily damage Clefable it with Sludge Bomb. Heatran takes little from Clefable’s attacks and can cripple it with Taunt to force Clefable to expend attack pp it to attack and waste its PP. [OVERVIEW]

Clefable was a top tier Pokemon when Gen 6 was coming to a close, and it seems hard to believe that it has only gotten better since then. With a Fairy typing leaving it weak to only Steel- and Poison-types, a wide movepool, good defenses, and Magic Guard, Clefable became a staple on almost every ORAS team. By virtue of its bulk, Clefable can take on many threats to the metagame such as Weavile, Gliscor, Slowbro, Lopunny and more. When using Calm Mind,(AC) Clefable becomes the most threatening Pokemon in this tier, able to sweep any team late-game with minimal support. However, Clefable does not just function as a standalone late-game cleaner, it is also a top-tier support Pokemon, being able to spread status with Thunder Wave, set Stealth Rocks up Rock, and even remove items with Knock Off. Due to Clefable’s top usage,(AC) there has been a surge in Mega Metagross, Leftovers Excadrill, specially defensive Gliscor, and more Pokemon to check it. Clefable is also rather susceptible to catching a Thunder Wave or Knock Off from Pokemon it usually checks such as Rotom-W, Slowbro,(AC) Ferrothorn, and Tornadus-T,(RC) and Slowbro. Despite teams always running countermeasures for Clefable, it continues to adapt and remain at the very top of the ORAS OU metagame.

Stealth Rock should be used early-game, (AC) as Clefable has relative ease in setting them up versus many teams. As the game progresses, Clefable should be used to switch into Pokemon such as Weavile, Rotom-W, and Tornadus (-t?). Spreading paralysis and wearing down Steel-types with Flamethrower is how Clefable earns you progress once Stealth Rock has been set up.

Team Options
=========
Rocky Helmet users such as Tangrowth, Skarmory, and Garchomp are great partners to punish Excadrill and Mega Metagross. Jellicent is a shakier check to the previous Pokemon, but with it has the added niche of preventing Starmie from using Rapid Spin and reliably switching into Keldeo and Slowbro. Latios makes a good pairing with Clefable on more offensive teams and appreciates Clefable’s ability to check Dragon-, Dark-, and Ice-types along with slowing down Tornadus (-t?) and wearing down Steel-types with Flamethrower. On bulkier teams, (AC) Mega Latias can provide support through Thunder Wave and Calm Mind.

Moves
=========
Flamethrower heavily damages Metagross (mega?), Ferrothorn, Bisharp, and other Steel-types that would switch into Clefable.

Set Details
=========
72 Special Attack EVs with a Modest nature allow Clefable to OHKO specially defensive Gliscor. 12 Speed investment allows EVs allow Clefable to outspeed Tyranitar with no Speed investment, (RC) but and more importantly to Speed creep other Clefable. HP is maxed out along with the rest of the EVs going into Defense to Maximum HP investment alongside 172 Defense EVs allows Clefable to better check Pokemon such as Garchomp and Gliscor.

Usage Tips
=========
The lack of Leftovers and Defense investment on this set means that you won’t get as much use out of using it Clefable as a counter to many of the Pokemon Clefable it normally beats; (comma -> semicolon) Pokemon such as Mega Lopunny and Weavile are able to 2HKO Clefable with their STAB moves. Instead, this set should be used as a mid-game wallbreaker and a late-game cleaner. Throwing out Moonblasts once Stealth Rock has been set up is your best option at breaking, as few Pokemon can continuously switch in. When facing a boosted Gliscor, use Ice Beam to OHKO it and fire off Flamethrowers on predicted Steel-type switch-ins. Calm Mind can be used either late-game or if your opponent has a Calm Mind Clefable. With Life Orb, Clefable will almost always beat opposing Clefable in a Calm Mind war.

Team Options
=========
Pivots such as Tornadus-T and Rotom-W can bring Clefable in safely. Gastrodon, Skarmory, and Ferrothorn can all help check Metagross (mega?), (RC) with the added bonus of checking Weavile, which this set cannot do. Thunder Wave users such as Ferrothorn, Mega Latias, and Rotom-W aid you Clefable in Calm Mind wars versus opposing Clefable. Psychic-types like Latios and Mega Alakazam appreciate Clefable weakening Steel-types with Flamethrower. Steel-types like Bisharp and Excadrill benefit from Gliscor being knocked out by Ice Beam.

Other Options
=========

=========

**Steel-types**: Mega Metagross is the best offensive counter to Clefable, being able to OHKO it with Meteor Mash while not minding any of its attacks moves barring a Life Orb-boosted Flamethrower or Thunder Wave. Excadrill with Leftovers walls most Clefable sets and can continuously switch in and force Clefable it out.

Choice Specs Keldeo using heavily damages Clefable and even 2HKOes non-specially defensive Clefable after a Calm Mind with Hydro Pump.

Volcarona can set up alongside Clefable without lacking Thunder Wave and out damage it with Fire Blast.
