[OVERVIEW]
Clefairy is a niche Stealth Rock user in NU that is able to efficiently out stall certain special attackers such as Heliolisk and Whimsicott using the combination of Seismic Toss, Soft-Boiled, and Toxic. One of the reasons why you might use Clefairy over another Stealth Rock user is its ability to soak up poison and burn thanks to Magic Guard. Magic Guard also leaves Clefairy immune to entry hazards, making it hard to chip it down. Its Eviolite-boosted bulk also allows it to be a great specially defensive tank able to sponge hits from special attackers such as Heliolisk, and a great defensive typing in Fairy gives it a resistance to Fighting-type attacks. However, Clefairy is extremely passive, with only Seismic Toss and Toxic to damage switch-ins. Therefore, it quite easily lets in a variety of Pokemon without any risk, such as Dhelmise, Klinklang, and Incineroar. Another big issue is that Clefairy is extremely reliant on Eviolite. If Clefairy gets hit by Knock Off, it becomes extremely easy for it to be worn down and knocked out. This also means that it cannot run Leftovers or a Berry for extra recovery. Another issue is that it is setup fodder for some of the tier's bulkier setup Pokemon, such as Decidueye and Rest Slowbro. Lastly, it faces large competition from other Stealth Rock users such as Steelix and Rhydon, which are generally less passive, and Miltank, which also has access to a recovery move but is better at using Heal Bell effectively. Another thing that makes other setters like Rhydon more valuable is that Clefairy cannot effectively set up Stealth Rock on Xatu, unlike them.

Moves
========

Stealth Rock is one of Clefairy's best utility moves, preventing the opponent from pivoting around for too long without taking too much chip damage, which is especially important for ally sweepers. Seismic Toss allows Clefairy to not be completely passive, and it also happens to be Clefairy's most consistent damage output, as Moonblast will not do as much damage to the Fire-, Poison-, and Steel-types of the tier, at the expense of hitting Ghost-type Pokemon. It also prevents Pokemon that are immune to Toxic from getting a free switch. Soft-Boiled gives Clefairy some recovery, giving it the opportunity to potentially stall out a foe. It also helps it consistently come in on Pokemon it checks, as well as efficiently stall down opposing Pokemon, even in the later turns of a battle. This goes in hand with Toxic, which allows Clefairy to slowly but surely chip down opposing Pokemon while racking up extra damage with Seismic Toss.

Set Details
========

For maximum bulk, 252 EVs are run in both HP and Special Defense along with a Calm nature and Eviolite. This essentially allows Clefairy to stay alive as long as possible versus special attackers while also still being able to take a hit on the physical side. Magic Guard prevents Clefairy from taking damage from Toxic poison and burn, though paralysis and freeze can still easily help take it out. It also gives Clefairy an immunity to entry hazards, which is especially important for a Pokemon that does not like getting chipped down as much as Clefairy.

Usage Tips
========

If an opposing Pokemon has Knock Off, it is wise to avoid letting Clefairy take one, as losing its Eviolite is detrimental to its success. Common Pokemon that carry Knock Off are Incineroar and Passimian, two of the most common Pokemon in the tier. Send Clefairy in on moves like Toxic from Vaporeon and Will-O-Wisp from Incineroar, as not only does it prevent another Pokemon from taking those moves, but it also leaves Clefairy invulnerable to paralysis. Clefairy should be sent in on some of the Pokemon it can easily take hits from, such as Blastoise and Houndoom. This will give you an opportunity to recover, get up Stealth Rock, or chip something down with Toxic. Attempt to set up Stealth Rock versus Pokemon that Clefairy takes little damage from, such as non-Taunt Comfey and Whimsicott. They may even give it an extra opportunity to recover if they choose to stay in; this will help Clefairy consistently check what it needs to throughout the match. Try to avoid getting Clefairy paralyzed by moves like Thunderbolt and Thunder Wave; since Magic Guard only blocks damage from status, Clefairy faces the full effects from paralysis, leaving it open to hard hits without getting the chance to recover off damage or fight back. In order to do this, try switching in Ground-types to soak up these attacks. As Clefairy is weak to both Steel and Poison, it may be wise to scout for certain coverage attacks from Pokemon you check such as Gunk Shot from Passimian, Heavy Slam from Guzzlord, and Iron Head from Druddigon. It may be wise to not waste Toxic PP versus teams that carry Steel- and Poison-types, as they are almost always going to switch into them, since Clefairy is weak to Steel- and Poison-type moves. Instead, you should either click Seismic Toss, recover some HP, or go into a Steel- or Poison-type check. Xatu is also an issue in this regard, as it effectively wastes Toxic PP due to Magic Bounce. Instead, try clicking Toxic versus Pokemon that are harder to chip down, such as Slowbro and Slowking, once the aforementioned Pokemon are gone. This will make it easier for your wallbreaker or sweeper to break through teams.

Team Options
========

In general, you want to run Clefairy on bulkier teams. It fits on semi-stall teams the most but can fit on hard stall and balance teams as well. Ground-types such as Seismitoad and Steelix are useful partners for Clefairy, as they are able to take Steel- and Poison-type moves that it fears and are unable to be paralyzed by moves such as Thunderbolt and Thunder Wave. Fire-types like Delphox and Incineroar are also useful for Clefairy, as they match up well versus Steel-type Pokemon like Silvally-Steel and Ferroseed, sometimes more so than the aforementioned Ground-types. Support Pokemon such as Mega Audino and Vaporeon are great partners for Clefairy, as they can provide Wish support, which can save Clefairy Soft-Boiled PP and perhaps recover more HP than Soft-Boiled would. Fighting-types such as Passimian and Hariyama make good Clefairy partners, as they also take on Steel-types and have various coverage moves to take on Poison-types, in particular Earthquake. Physically defensive Pokemon complement Clefairy's special bulk, being able to take physical hits with ease. Examples of such Pokemon are Slowbro and Palossand, and they allow Clefairy to focus on checking the special attackers rather than having to worry about the physical threats on the opposing team. Pokemon that don't like getting hit by Toxic like Slowbro and Vaporeon are also great partners for Clefairy, as it can easily soak up such status for them.

Other Options
=============

Knock Off has potential over Stealth Rock if you wish to ease the matchup versus Steelix, but it is very ineffective, as it makes Clefairy lose its main niche as a Stealth Rock user. Calm Mind has potential as a set to break through teams, with the other three moves being Stealth Rock, Moonblast, and Soft-Boiled. This set not only allows Clefairy to continue to be an effective Stealth Rock user but also lets it do chunks to the enemy team. Another move you can run is Cosmic Power over Stealth Rock, which takes away the niche of being a Stealth Rock user [RC] but allows Clefairy to maximize its bulk and potentially sweep a team. Please note, however, that Clefairy without Stealth Rock is perfectly viable and can be utilized effectively. Heal Bell can be used if you want a second cleric on bulkier builds or want to free up a move on another cleric such as Miltank, which may want to run Toxic instead of Heal Bell. Wish is an option over Toxic if you wish to heal up your own Pokemon, not just Clefairy. However, the amount of HP recovered will not be a lot, as Clefairy's HP stat is not very high. Moonblast is usable over Seismic Toss if you want to have a STAB attack versus Dark-, Dragon-, and Fighting-types such as Absol, Druddigon, and Passimian. However, this is not recommended, as Seismic Toss is all-around consistent damage versus Fire-, Poison-, and Steel-types such as Delphox, Garbodor, and Silvally-Steel. Thunder Wave can be run instead of Toxic if you fear setup sweepers such as Klinklang and Vivillon. The paralysis can also be useful to do some extra damage with Seismic Toss or give one of your Pokemon a good chance to revenge kill. However, Toxic is pivotal to beat bulkier setup Pokemon such as Slowbro and Scrafty if not running Moonblast.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Steel-types**: Steel-types such as Klinklang and Steelix are very threatening to Clefairy, as they carry super effective moves like Gear Grind and Heavy Slam. They are also immune to Toxic, leaving them only open to a Seismic Toss, which is not going to do enough damage for Clefairy to be in the clear. Also, they can set up on Clefairy if it isn't carrying Thunder Wave or perhaps gain momentum or set up entry hazards. Silvally-Steel gets a special mention because it can easily get rid of Stealth Rock versus Clefairy and can also threaten it with Multi-Attack.

**Poison-types**: Pokemon such as Garbodor and Golbat are threatening to Clefairy, as they are able to either do heavy damage with super effective moves or stall out Clefairy with recovery moves. Like the aforementioned Steel-types, these Poison-types are also immune to Toxic, meaning it is also quite hard to chip them down as well. Again, like the Steel-types, Poison-types can use Clefairy as an opportunity to set up entry hazards, Spikes and Toxic Spikes from Garbodor in particular.

**Knock Off**: If Clefairy manages to get hit by Knock Off, it becomes significantly less bulky. It becomes hard to check even the weaker special attackers, and some physical attackers can easily beat Clefairy one-on-one. Such Pokemon to look out for with Knock Off are Incineroar, Passimian, and Scrafty.

**Setup Sweepers**: While Clefairy is immune to burn and poison thanks to Magic Guard, it does still fear setup sweepers such as Klinklang and Vivillon. Without Thunder Wave, Clefairy run the huge risk of getting swept by both of these Pokemon, as Klinklang is a Steel-type and is immune to Toxic, and Vivillon carries Sleep Powder. Other examples of Pokemon such as non-Taunt Comfey and Substitute + Bulk Up Braviary can just as easily set up on Clefairy, although they run the risk of getting hit by Toxic.

[OVERVIEW]

  • Clefairy is a niche Stealth Rock user in NU, having access to recovery in Soft-Boiled.
  • It competes with other Stealth Rockers such as Miltank, which also has access to a recovery move, but is better at curing status for the team by being able to use Heal Bell effectively.
  • One of the reasons why you might use Clefairy over another Stealth Rocker is its ability to soak status. Thanks to having access to Magic Guard, it does not face the chip from Poison and Burn, although it still gets effected by paralysis.
  • Its bulk thanks to Eviolite is helpful, allowing it to be a great specially defensive tank, being able to take hits from even Choice Specs Heliolisk.
  • It also has a great defensive typing in Fairy, resisting one of the most common types in NU, Fighting.
  • Lastly, it is also good at stalling out one of the best Pokemon in the tier in Slowbro, being able to run Toxic and not being affected by Toxic coming from an opposing Slowbro.
  • Alright so I'm going to address the Overview a bit differently than I normally do. Bare with me.
  • Keep in mind that the Overview must address both positives and negatives; while you do briefly touch on competition with Miltank as a Stealth Rock setter that has recovery, and how Clefairy is susceptible to paralysis, that's about it. While a low amount of negatives for an S-rank Pokemon is to be expected, Clefairy is a C- rank Pokemon. Therefore, I expected more light placed on reasons to consider other Stealth Rock setters.
  • In general, I believe you could lump all the points that address Clefairy's defensive qualities into one point, and the ones addressing its niche and reason to use it over other Stealth Rock users in another.
  • Something like "Clefairy sets itself apart from other Stealth Rock setters with access to recovery in Soft-Boiled, letting it consistently check, x, y, and z". And then another bullet addressing the perks of Magic Guard and how that further separates Clefairy from other Stealth Rock setters.
  • Definitely address how Clefairy is setup fodder for many Pokemon like Klinklang, Substitute Decidueye, Rest Slowbro, etc.
  • Faces immense competition from other Stealth Rock setters because many of them are less passive, or in the case of Miltank, arguably pull off the whole Stealth Rock user with recovery shtick better. Can even mention its weakness to Knock Off here, as other Stealth Rock setters are significantly less prone to it than Clefairy (and how Eviolite -> no Leftovers or pinch Berry -> no passive recovery).

Moves
========

  • Stealth Rock is one of Clefairy's best utility moves, preventing the opponent from pivoting around for too long without taking too much chip. This is especially important for sweeper Pokemon, which appreciate Pokemon to be chipped down.
  • Seismic Toss allows Clefairy to not be completely passive, doing 100 damage per use. I would also emphasize this being Clefairy's most consistent form of damage output.
  • Soft-Boiled gives it some recovery, giving you the opportunity to potentially stall out a foe. It also lets Clefairy repeatedly switch into the Pokemon it attempts to check and recover health. May also want to specify that you're trying to stall the foe with Toxic and Seismic Toss damage.
  • This goes in hand with Toxic, which allows Clefairy to slowly but surely chip down opposing Pokemon, while racking up extra damage with Seismic Toss. It also prevents setup Pokemon (that aren't immune to Toxic) from coming in for free.

Set Details
========

  • For maximum bulk, 252 EVs are run in both HP and Special Defense. This essentially allows Clefairy to stay alive as long as possible versus special attackers, while also still being able to take a hit on the physical side.
  • Therefore, a Calm nature is also run, to maximize Special Defense potential.
  • Clefairy holds the Eviolite in order to maximize bulk, rather than Leftovers which leaves Clefairy considerably frail, only having decent bulk. Like in the Overview, these three ideas basically fall under the concept of making Clefairy bulky, so they can be thrown into one idea of maximizing special bulk and checking x, y, and z.
  • I don't like how the current mention of Leftovers is a negative and why not to run it. I would instead address that Clefairy would like to run it for passive recovery, but can't because it would too heavily compromise bulk (which you currently do address).
  • Magic Guard prevents Clefairy from taking damage from Toxic and Burn. However, it still fears the effects from paralysis and freeze, both of which can easily help take Clefairy out. It also gives Clefairy an immunity to entry hazard damage, which makes it easier to switch into stuff.

Usage Tips
========

  • If an opposing Pokemon has Knock Off, it would be very wise to avoid taking one with Clefairy, as losing Eviolite is detrimental to its success. Common Pokemon that carry Knock Off are Incineroar and Passimian, two of the most common Pokemon in the tier, so this is highly important to note.
  • Try to avoid getting Clefairy paralyzed or frozen by moves like Thunder Wave and Ice Beam respectively. Since Magic Guard only blocks damage from status, Clefairy faces the full effects from paralysis and freeze, leaving it open to take hard hits without getting the chance to recover off damage or fight back. In order to do this, try switching in Ground- or Ice-types to soak up these attacks. I think the freeze mention is sort of weak, but the paralysis one is definitely one to keep.
  • As Clefairy is weak to both Steel and Poison, it may be wise to scout for certain attacks from Pokemon you check such as Passimian and Druddigon, which can run Gunk Shot and Iron Head respectively, and put Clefairy at risk of a KO.
  • It may be wise to not waste Toxic PP versus teams that carry Steel-types as they are almost always going to switch into them, since Clefairy is weak to Steel-type moves. Instead, you should either click Seismic Toss, recover some HP, or go into a Steel-type check.
  • since this Clefairy set aims to set Stealth Rock, I would like to see mention of when to try to set Stealth Rock (against what, under what circumstances is it easier, etc)
  • When should I look to heal with Soft-Boiled? How can these circumstances change (like say, Clefairy needs to be at a high enough amount of HP to actually check something)?
  • Maybe a bit more explanation on how Toxic is generally safe otherwise. You currently only address when NOT to use Toxic.

would like to see a mention of what sorts of builds you generally see Clefairy on (we don't want people building Clefairy HO lol)
  • Ground-types such as Seismitoad and Klinklang are useful partners for Clefairy as they are able to take Steel- and Poison-type moves that it fears, as well as being unable to be paralyzed by moves such as Thunderbolt and Thunder Wave.
  • Pokemon that carry Fire typing like Incineroar and Delphox are also useful for Clefairy as they match up well versus Steel-type Pokemon, sometimes more so than the aforementioned Ground-types.
  • Fighting-types such as Passimian and Hariyama make good Clefairy partners as they also take on the Steel-types, as well as having various coverage moves to take on Poison-types, and in particular, Earthquake.
  • Physically defensive Pokemon are good partners for Clefairy as they cover the other side of defense, being able to take physical hits with ease. Examples of such Pokemon are Slowbro and Palossand.
  • Lastly, Ice-types like Articuno and Cryogonal pair well with Clefairy as they are unable to be frozen, but are also susceptible to Steel-type attacks. I don't think this point really does a whole lot.
  • expand on what Pokemon appreciate the stuff Clefairy does (could maybe expand on the physically defensive Pokemon part some in that regard)
  • could address clerics and how they can cleanse Clefairy of status that Magic Guard isn't useful against (and clerics like Mega Audino and Vaporeon can also provide Wish support, letting Clefairy save Soft-Boiled PP)
  • again would like to see more examples when addressing things that harm Clefairy

  • Wish is an option over Soft-Boiled if you wish (no pun intended) to heal up your own Pokemon, not just Clefairy. However, the amount of HP recovered will not be a lot, as Clefairy's HP stat is not very high having Base 70. you wouldn't run Wish > Soft-Boiled imo; you would more likely see it over Toxic
  • Thunder Wave can be run instead of Toxic wave if you fear setup sweepers such as Klinklang and Vivillon. The paralysis can be useful to do some extra damage with Seismic Toss or give one of your Pokemon a good chance to revenge kill. Note though how Toxic is mandatory for Clefairy to beat bulky setup Pokemon that have recovery (like Slowbro, or even bulky SD Incineroar to a lesser extent)
  • Moonblast is usable over Seismic Toss if you want to have a STAB attack versus Dark-, Dragon-, and Fighting-types such as Absol, Druddigon, and Passimian. However, this is not recommended, as Seismic Toss is all-around consistent damage versus Fire-, Poison-, and Steel-types such as Delphox, Garbodor, and Silvally-Steel.
  • I've seen boosting moves (Calm Mind, Cosmic Power) put in some work. They could get a mention.
Checks and Counters
===================

**Steel-types**: Steel-types such as Klinklang and Steelix are very threatening to Clefairy, as they carry super effective moves like Gear Grind and Heavy Slam respectively. They are also immune to Toxic, leaving them only open to a Seismic Toss, which is not going to do enough damage for Clefairy to be in the clear. They can also take advantage of Clefairy, being able to set up on it if it isn't carrying Thunder Wave, or perhaps gain momentum or set up hazards.

**Poison-types**: Pokemon that have Poison typing such as Garbodor and Golbat are also threatening to Clefairy, as they are able to either do heavy damage with super effective moves or to stall out Clefairy with recovery moves, respectively. Like the aforementioned Steel-types, these Poison-types are also immune to Toxic, meaning it is also quite hard to chip them down as well. Again, like the Steel-types, Poison-types can use Clefairy as an opportunity to set up hazards, Spikes and Toxic Spikes from Garbodor and Qwilfish in particular. Qwilfish isn't really worth mentioning imo

**Set-up Sweepers**: While Clefairy is immune to burn and poison thanks to Magic Guard, it does still fear set-up sweepers such as Klinklang and Vivillon. Without Thunder Wave, you run the huge risk of getting sweeped by both of these Pokemon, as Klinklang is a Steel-type and is immune to Toxic, and Vivillon carries Sleep Powder. However, these are just examples, as other Pokemon can just as easily setup on Clefairy, such as Comfey and Incineroar, although they run the risk of getting hit by Toxic. maybe specify non-Taunt Comfey

* could see mentions of coverage of the Steel- and Poison-type in their respective sections from Pokemon that carry it
* a physical wallbreakers section makes sense to have, as stuff like CB Sneasel, CB Incineroar (not super common so feel free to not use this specific example), and Medicham can easily overwhelm Clefairy

  • Despite these positives, it does carry some negatives. The biggest issue that Clefairy faces is its reliance on Eviolite. If Clefairy gets hit by Knock Off, it makes it extremely easy to be worn down and knocked out by an opponent. Another issue is that it is setup fodder for some of the tier's bulkier setup Pokemon, such as Decidueye and Rest Slowbro. Lastly, it faces such large competition from other Stealth Rock users because they are generally less passive than others. you could explicitly mention steelix and rhydon and how they can set up to decrease passivity
  • also mention that Clefairy's reliance on eviolite for bulk means it cannot run leftovers or a pinch berry to provide it with passive recovery
  • To summarize, Clefairy has some great qualities thanks to its good bulk with Eviolite, as well as its access to Magic Guard. However, it often finds itself setup fodder, and if it is ever hit by Knock Off, it is pretty much dead weight for the team. It also has a hard time fitting onto teams, as it is specific to bulkier play styles, while other Stealth Rock users also seem to find their way onto teams better than Clefairy.
  • a point about clefairy's inability to rock vs xatu could work. it's sort of a stalemate between the two given neither can really kill the other, but xatu can super easily prevent rocks.

Therefore, a Calm nature is also run, to maximize Special Defense potential. Clefairy holds the Eviolite in order to maximize bulk. Leftovers is generally ineffective since it leaves Clefairy fairly frail, although the passive recovery can be useful in some situations. These three things combined helps Clefairy take special hits from Pokemon such as Heliolisk, Vanilluxe, and Whimsicott. I'd just move the Calm nature bit into the first sentence to compress information. I also don't think the Leftovers part is particularly helpful; you can just cover in Overview that Clefairy relies too heavily on Eviolite to effectively run Leftovers.
  • Magic Guard prevents Clefairy from taking damage from Toxic and Burn. However, it still fears the effects from paralysis and freeze, both of which can easily help take Clefairy out. It also gives Clefairy an immunity to entry hazards, which is especially important for a Pokemon that does not like getting chipped down as much as Clefairy.

This allows you to take little damage from their attacks, or no damage at all if they switch. It may also give you an extra opportunity to recover, if they so choose to stay in.
  • Try and Soft-Boiled versus these Pokemon as well, as it will give you the most HP back. This will help Clefairy consistently check what it needs to throughout the match.

  • Ground-types such as Seismitoad and Klinklang are useful partners for Clefairy as they are able to take Steel- and Poison-type moves that it fears, as well as being unable to be paralyzed by moves such as Thunderbolt and Thunder Wave. Klinklang is not a Ground-type.

  • Support Pokemon such as Mega Audino and Vaporeon are great partners for Clefairy as they can provide Heal Bell support so that status not blocked by Magic Guard can be effectively removed. They also provide Wish support, which can save Clefairy Soft-Boiled PP.
  • In general, you want to run Clefairy on bulkier teams. In particular, Clefairy fits on semi-stall teams the most, but can also fit on hard stall and balance teams as well. this should probably be the first bullet
**Steel-types**: Steel-types such as Klinklang and Steelix are very threatening to Clefairy, as they carry super effective moves like Gear Grind and Heavy Slam respectively. They can also take advantage of Clefairy, being able to set up on it if it isn't carrying Thunder Wave, or perhaps gain momentum or set up hazards. silvally-steel can get a mention for being able to clear rocks relatively safely against clefairy and threatening it with multi-attack

Again, like the Steel-types, Poison-types can use Clefairy as an opportunity to set up hazards, Spikes and Toxic Spikes from Garbodor in particular. vileplume beats clefairy 1v1 easily and can even use it as setup fodder if you have growth

However, these are just examples, as other Pokemon can just as easily setup on Clefairy, such as non-Taunt Comfey and Incineroar, although they run the risk of getting hit by Toxic.

**Physical Wallbreakers**: Strong physical attackers such as Choice Band Sneasel, Incineroar, and Medicham prove threatening to Clefairy due to their high physical power. However, often these Pokemon rely on prediction to break through teams, especially if they are holding a Choice item, so correct prediction can simply work against them.

[OVERVIEW]

  • Clefairy is a niche Stealth Rock user in NU, having access to recovery in Soft-Boiled. This allows it to efficiently out stall certain special attackers such as Heliolisk and Whimsicott, using the combination of Seismic Toss, Soft-Boiled, and Toxic.
  • One of the reasons why you might use Clefairy over another Stealth Rocker is its ability to soak status. Thanks to having access to Magic Guard, it does not face the chip from poison and burn, although it still gets effected by paralysis. Magic Guard also leaves Clefairy immune to entry hazards, making it hard to chip it down. Its bulk thanks to Eviolite is helpful, allowing it to be a great specially defensive tank, being able to take hits from even Choice Specs Heliolisk. It also has a great defensive typing in Fairy, resisting one of the most common types in NU, Fighting.
  • Despite these positives, it does carry some negatives. The biggest issue that Clefairy faces is its reliance on Eviolite. If Clefairy gets hit by Knock Off, it makes it extremely easy to be worn down and knocked out by an opponent. This also means that it cannot run Leftovers or a pinch berry for extra recovery. Another issue is that it is setup fodder for some of the tier's bulkier setup Pokemon, such as Decidueye and Rest Slowbro. Lastly, it faces such large competition from other Stealth Rock users because they are generally less passive than others, such as Steelix and Rhydon, which can carry setup moves. It also competes with other Stealth Rockers such as Miltank, which also has access to a recovery move, but is better at curing status for the team by being able to use Heal Bell effectively. Another thing that makes other rockers more valuable is that Clefairy cannot effectively set-up Stealth Rock on Xatu, unlike other Stealth Rock users that can threaten Xatu.

I want you to explicitly mention that its really passive, and lets a lot of really spooky stuff in for "free" only being able to threaten them with Seismic or Toxic. Atm this is implied, with the mention of Decid, but isn't directly said. I'd also like you to cut down on the purple prose in this section, it runs way long for a fairly simple mon.

Moves
========

It also happens to be Clefairy's most consistent damage output, as Moonblast will not do as much damage to the Fire-, Poison-, and Steel-types of the tier.
  • Soft-Boiled gives it some recovery, giving you the opportunity to potentially stall out a foe, which helps you consistently come in on Pokemon you check, as well as efficiently stall down opposing Pokemon.
  • This goes in hand with Toxic, which allows Clefairy to slowly but surely chip down opposing Pokemon, while racking up extra damage with Seismic Toss. This also prevents Pokemon that are immune to Toxic from getting a free switch.

Set Details
========

  • For maximum bulk, 252 EVs are run in both HP and Special Defense along with a Calm nature. This essentially allows Clefairy to stay alive as long as possible versus special attackers, while also still being able to take a hit on the physical side. Clefairy holds the Eviolite in order to maximize bulk. These three things combined helps Clefairy take special hits from Pokemon such as Heliolisk, Vanilluxe, and Whimsicott.

Usage Tips
========

  • Try to avoid getting Clefairy paralyzed by moves like Thunderbolt and Thunder Wave respectively. Since Magic Guard only blocks damage from status, Clefairy faces the full effects from paralysis, leaving it open to take hard hits without getting the chance to recover off damage or fight back. In order to do this, try switching in Ground-types to soak up these attacks.
  • Send in Clefairy on some of the Pokemon it can easily eat hits from, such as Blastoise and Houndoom. This will give you an opportunity to recover, get up Stealth Rock, or chip something down with Toxic.
  • Attempt to setup Stealth Rock versus Pokemon that you take little damage from, such as non-Taunt Comfey and Whimsicott.
  • As Clefairy is weak to both Steel and Poison, it may be wise to scout for certain attacks from Pokemon you check such as Passimian, Guzzlord and Druddigon, which can run Gunk Shot, Heavy Slam, and Iron Head respectively, and put Clefairy at risk of a KO.
  • It may be wise to not waste Toxic PP versus teams that carry Steel- and Poison-types as they are almost always going to switch into them, since Clefairy is weak to Steel- and Poison-type moves. Instead, you should either click Seismic Toss, recover some HP, or go into a Steel-type check. Xatu is also an issue in this regard, as it effectively wastes a Toxic PP due to Magic Bounce.
  • Instead, try clicking Toxic versus Pokemon that are harder to chip down such as Slowbro and Slowking, once the aforementioned Pokemon are gone. This will make it easier for your breaker or sweeper to run through said Pokemon.
How to play vs opponents you think have status (aka mention that you can absorb status with it, and bring it in to help teammates)

Team Options
========

  • In general, you want to run Clefairy on bulkier teams. In particular, Clefairy fits on semi-stall teams the most, but can also fit on hard stall and balance teams as well.
  • Ground-types such as Seismitoad and Steelix are useful partners for Clefairy as they are able to take Steel- and Poison-type moves that it fears, as well as being unable to be paralyzed by moves such as Thunderbolt and Thunder Wave.
  • Pokemon that carry Fire typing like Incineroar and Delphox are also useful for Clefairy as they match up well versus Steel-type Pokemon like Silvally-Steel and Ferroseed, sometimes more so than the aforementioned Ground-types.
  • Support Pokemon such as Mega Audino and Vaporeon are great partners for Clefairy as they can provide Heal Bell support so that status not blocked by Magic Guard can be effectively removed. They also provide Wish support, which can save Clefairy Soft-Boiled PP. Cut the part about status, twave is uncommon, and you can deal with it.
This will allow Clefairy to focus on checking the special attackers, rather than having to worry about the physical threats on the opposing team.
Mention mons that want a status absorber, which is a large part of why you're using Clefairy, ex. Slowbro et al.
[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============
  • Knock Off has potential over Stealth Rock if you wish to ease the match up versus Steelix, but is very ineffective since it makes you lose Clefairy's main niche as a Stealth Rock user.
  • Wish is an option over Toxic if you wish (no pun intended) to heal up your own Pokemon, not just Clefairy. However, the amount of HP recovered will not be a lot, as Clefairy's HP stat is not very high having Base 70.
  • Thunder Wave can be run instead of Toxic wave if you fear setup sweepers such as Klinklang and Vivillon. The paralysis can be useful to do some extra damage with Seismic Toss or give one of your Pokemon a good chance to revenge kill. However, Toxic is pivotal to beat bulkier setup Pokemon such as Slowbro and Scrafty (if not running Moonblast).
  • Calm Mind has potential as a set to break through teams. It can be run in correspondence with Cosmic Power to get as strong and as bulky as possible to eventually sweep a team or stall out opposing Pokemon. Move this up, mention a set of CM / Sr / Moonblast / Softboiled, as that's a very viable set.
Checks and Counters
===================

Also, they cantake advantage of Clefairy, being able to set up on it if it isn't carrying Thunder Wave, or perhaps gain momentum or set up hazards. Silvally-Steel gets a special mention because it can easily get rid of Stealth Rock versus Clefairy, and can also threaten it with Multi-Attack.

Again, like the Steel-types, Poison-types can use Clefairy as an opportunity to set up hazards, Spikes and Toxic Spikes from Garbodor in particular.

Another example is Vileplume, which can beat Clefairy 1v1 easily, as well as use it for setup fodder. Is vileplume really a setup sweeper (I know Growth exists, but it is not common, by any means) However, these are just examples, as other Pokemon can just as easily setup on Clefairy, such as non-Taunt Comfey and Incineroar, although they run the risk of getting hit by Toxic.

**Physical Wallbreakers**: Strong physical attackers such as Choice Band Sneasel, Incineroar, and Medicham prove threatening to Clefairy due to their high physical power. this is really well done and i don't have too much to add but
  • when listing mons try and do it in order of viability for clarity
  • heal bell can go in oo, on bulkier teams if you're running clef + miltank cleric moves are really interchangabe and gives you more freedom for stuff like protect or tox etc
  • mention somewhere in checks and counters (probably physical attackers) that if clef does get knocked it fails to even check special attackers effectively, making it a whole lot worse
  • also in general you kinda emphasis throughout that clef needs to be a stealth rock setter, which isn't totally true. many clef sets can run no sr at all and run something like heal bell / stoss / knock / soft boiled (what i use personally), so in oo just give a mention that sets without sr are totally viable as well
great work, 3/3

Send Clefairy in on moves like Toxic from Vaporeon and Will'o'Wisp Will-O-Wisp from Pokemon like Vaporeon and Incineroar respectively, as not only does it prevent another Pokemon from taking those moves, but it also leaves you Clefairy invulnerable to paralysis. Clefairy should be sent in on some of the Pokemon it can easily take hits from, such as Blastoise and Houndoom. This will give you an opportunity to recover, get up Stealth Rock, or chip something down with Toxic. Attempt to set up (RH) Stealth Rock versus Pokemon that you take Clefairy takes little damage from, such as non-Taunt Comfey and Whimsicott. This is because you take little damage from their attacks, or no damage at all if they switch. It They may also even give you it an extra opportunity to recover (RC) if they choose to stay in; (SC) Try to use Soft-Boiled versus these Pokemon as well, as it will give you the most HP back. This will help Clefairy consistently check what it needs to throughout the match. Try to avoid getting Clefairy paralyzed by moves like Thunderbolt and Thunder Wave respectively; (SC) since Magic Guard only blocks damage from status, Clefairy faces the full effects from paralysis, leaving it open to take hard hits without getting the chance to recover off damage or fight back. In order to do this, try switching in Ground-types to soak up these attacks. As Clefairy is weak to both Steel and Poison, it may be wise to scout for certain coverage attacks from Pokemon you check such as Gunk Shot from Passimian, Heavy Slam from Guzzlord, (AC) and Iron Head from Druddigon, which can run Gunk Shot, Heavy Slam, and Iron Head respectively, to avoid putting Clefairy at risk of a KO. Instead, try clicking Toxic versus Pokemon that are harder to chip down, (AC) such as Slowbro and Slowking, once the aforementioned Pokemon are gone. This will make it easier for your wallbreaker or sweeper to break through teams.

Team Options
========

In general, you want to run Clefairy on bulkier teams. Particularly, Clefairy It (redundant w/ the most) fits on semi-stall teams the most (RC) but can also fit on hard stall and balance teams as well. Ground-types such as Seismitoad and Steelix are useful partners for Clefairy, (AC) as they are able to take Steel- and Poison-type moves that it fears (RC) as well as being and are unable to be paralyzed by moves such as Thunderbolt and Thunder Wave. Pokemon that carry a Fire typing Fire-types like Delphox and Incineroar are also useful for Clefairy, (AC) as they match up well versus Steel-type Pokemon like Silvally-Steel and Ferroseed, sometimes more so than the aforementioned Ground-types. Support Pokemon such as Mega Audino and Vaporeon are great partners for Clefairy, (AC) as they can provide Wish support for it, which can save Clefairy Soft-Boiled PP (RC) and perhaps recover more HP than Soft-Boiled would. Fighting-types such as Passimian and Hariyama make good Clefairy partners, (AC) as they also take on the Steel-types (RC) as well as having and have various coverage moves to take on Poison-types, in particular (RC) Earthquake. Physically defensive Pokemon are good partners for complement Clefairy's as they cover the other side of defense special bulk, being able to take physical hits with ease. Examples of such Pokemon are Slowbro and Palossand, and they allow Clefairy to focus on checking the special attackers, rather than having to worry about the physical threats on the opposing team. Pokemon that don't like getting hit by Toxic like Slowbro and Vaporeon are also great partners for Clefairy, (AC) as it can easily soak up such status for them.

Other Options
=============

Knock Off has potential over Stealth Rock if you wish to ease the match up matchup versus Steelix, but it is very ineffective, (AC) as it makes you lose Clefairy's lose its main niche as a Stealth Rock user. Calm Mind has potential as a set to break through teams, with the other three moves being Stealth Rock, Moonblast, and Soft-Boiled. This set not only allows Clefairy to continue to be an effective Stealth Rock user (RC) but it also allows you to lets it do chunks to the enemy team as well. Another move you can run is Cosmic Power over Stealth Rock, which takes away the niche of being a Stealth Rock user, but allows you Clefairy to maximize your its bulk and potentially sweep a team. Please note, however, that Clefairy without Stealth Rock is perfectly viable and can be utilized effectively. (this directly contradicts the comment after Knock Off tbh) Heal Bell can be used if you want a second cleric on bulkier builds (RC) or you want to free up a move on another cleric such as Miltank, which may want to run Toxic instead of Heal Bell. Wish is an option over Toxic if you wish (no pun intended) to heal up your own Pokemon, not just Clefairy. However, the amount of HP recovered will not be a lot, as Clefairy's HP stat is not very high, being only Base 70. Thunder Wave can be run instead of Toxic wave if you fear setup sweepers such as Klinklang and Vivillon. The paralysis can also be useful to do some extra damage with Seismic Toss or give one of your Pokemon a good chance to revenge kill. However, Toxic is pivotal to beat bulkier setup Pokemon such as Slowbro and Scrafty (if not running Moonblast).

Checks and Counters
===================

Also, they cantake advantage of Clefairy, being able to can set up on it Clefairy if it isn't carrying Thunder Wave (RC) or perhaps gain momentum or set up entry hazards. Silvally-Steel gets a special mention because it can easily get rid of Stealth Rock versus Clefairy (RC) and can also threaten it with Multi-Attack.

It becomes hard to check even the weaker special attackers, (AC) and some physical attackers can easily beat Clefairy 1v1 one-on-one. Such Pokemon to look out for with Knock Off are Incineroar, Passimian, and Scrafty.

**Set-up Setup Sweepers**: While Clefairy is immune to burn and poison thanks to Magic Guard, it does still fear set-up setup sweepers such as Klinklang and Vivillon. Without Thunder Wave, you run the huge risk of getting sweeped swept by both of these Pokemon, as Klinklang is a Steel-type and is immune to Toxic, and Vivillon carries Sleep Powder. Another example is Vileplume, which can beat Clefairy 1v1 one-on-one easily with Sludge Bomb, as well as recover quickly with Strength Sap or Synthesis. However, these are just examples, as Other Pokemon such as non-Taunt Comfey and Incineroar can just as easily setup set up on Clefairy, such as non-Taunt Comfey and Incineroar, although they run the risk of getting hit by Toxic.

[OVERVIEW]
Clefairy is a niche Stealth Rock user in NU that is able to efficiently out stall certain special attackers such as Heliolisk and Whimsicott [RC] using the combination of Seismic Toss, Soft-Boiled, and Toxic.

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

Set Details
========

For maximum bulk, 252 EVs are run in both HP and Special Defense along with a Calm nature and Eviolite. This essentially allows Clefairy to stay alive as long as possible versus special attackers [RC] while also still being able to take a hit on the physical side. Magic Guard prevents Clefairy from taking damage from Toxic poison and burn, though paralysis and freeze can still easily help take it out. It also gives Clefairy an immunity to entry hazards, which is especially important for a Pokemon that does not like getting chipped down as much as Clefairy.

vileplume shouldn't be in this section; move its mention to the poison-types bit. incineroar isn't a setup sweeper; it's a wallbreaker. I would replace the mention with something like sub bu braviary, since it risks getting hit by toxic if it directly switches in
