>> FIND INFO ON THE TIER HERE!!!! <<
After the past few weeks that the format has had to develop and flesh out its vibe, I am excited to finally get a kickoff tour going. This tournament will be the official kickoff for Clubmons: Requiem, a format designed to explore the definition of teambuilder freedom and format accessibility, and propel every potential archetype into viability. To learn more about the history of this format, how it came to be, and examples of what the tier has to offer, please check out the original thread here!

As the title suggests, I am providing a cash prize to the winner of the tournament. Nothing major, just something to get the grill hot!

Tournament Rules
  • All general tournament rules and guidelines apply.
  • This is a double elimination tournament! All players will play a minimum of two matches. Finals will be a Bo3 where losers bracket has to win two sets.
  • Every round lasts at least 1 week.
  • All matches are bo3 using the Pet Mods Dragon Heaven side server.
  • I will try to time updates to get them pushed through between rounds. During this tour, I will announce updates at least 24 hours in advance before the update happens, to give players time to prepare accordingly in case an update happens. This will mainly consist of bug fixes or egregious hotpatches; new content will not be added before the end of the tournament.
  • Replays of all tour games must be posted. See the spoiler below since it does not work the same as it does on main.

Because of the philosophy of the tier, we heavily recommend building your own teams, but if you would like some sample teams, they will be provided soon for those who don't have time or would just like to play in the tournament without all the nitty gritty. Either way, I would recommend joining our Discord server, whether it's to learn more about the tier, get in some practice games, or just to hang out and get into the community!

Hi all, before I launch the next round later tonight, I wanted to announce that in Round 2 going forward, Basculegion, Hisuian Goodra, Mega Absol, and Mega Sableye will be banned. Prior to the tournament, these Pokemon have had very commanding results, and because of their overall strain in the format, they prove to be anti-concept regardless of any hypothetical brokenness.

Basculegion is the cornerstone of Rain, and while a strong playmaker in many contexts and technically manageable, the fact of the matter is that no team realistically can withstand its onslaught in tandem with its teammates. You can prep for Rain, but having to fish for the matchup goes against the grain.

Hisuian Goodra on paper is a healthy mixed tank, but Body Press variants push it far too beyond comfort. This is only worsened by the buffed Shell Armor and Shelter, making overwhelming it far more egregious and demanding.

Mega Absol overtunes what makes base Absol so strong in the format. It’s faster, can more capably run mixed coverage, and is just difficult for any team without a Galarian Weezing, Tapu Bulu, or Buzzwole to consistently withhold.

Mega Sableye is the weakest offender on this least, but sees slating for being a defensive force that requires specific offensive counterplay to overwhelm. Being a bulky Magic Bounce user, it puts an uncomfortable strain on splashable forms of progress making and building, which is not desirable in the context of this format.

This will be sent into DH soon, but because I can’t directly push changes on command, it may be a bit before it’s reflected in the builder. I will post the next bracket once I hear back from the remaining set players, since the scale of this tournament is small.
