[GENERIC PSYCHIC-TYPE THING, MK-GOD-KNOWS-WHAT]
Disclaimer: I know Meowstic-F isn't exactly the best of Pokemon, but all fully evolved Kalos-exclusive Pokemon require a preview, so whether you treat this too seriously or not is up to you and your maturity.
QC Approvals: SOMALIA, Alexwolf, PKGaming

GP Approvals: Piiikachu

Status:

[Pros]

Meowstic-F has a great Speed stat, just enough to outrun a few important threats such as Garchomp.

It has a versatile support and offensive movepool.

[Cons]

Meowstic-F is badly outclassed by other Psychic-types due to its generally inferior stats, especially in Speed and Special Attack, in comparison to great Psychic-types such as Alakazam and Espeon.

All of its stats except Speed are average.

It has competition with other Pokemon for a support or attacking role, which even includes Pokemon outside of Psychic-types. Meowstic-M ultimately has a very similar movepool, and outclasses it in support roles due to Prankster.

It has no reliable method of recovery if it wants to attempt bulky or boosting sets.

[Set Recommendations]

name: Boosting
move 1: Calm Mind
move 2: Barrier
move 3: Stored Power
move 4: Rest
nature: Timid
ability: Infiltrator / Competitive
item: Chesto Berry
evs: 252 HP / 12 Def / 244 Spe

This is basically the best set Meowstic-F can pull off without being outclassed, only sharing this combination of moves with the more bulky and powerful, but slower, Musharna. The strategy is simply to attempt to acquire as many defensive boosts as possible with Calm Mind and Barrier, then lash back with Stored Power. It is recommended to get some Barrier boosts early, as there will be many attempts to revenge kill Meowstic-F with physical attacks rather than special. Also keep in mind that some powerful attacks will still do heavy damage despite defensive boosts, so it is advised to set up on targets that can't hurt Meowstic-F too significantly, especially defensively oriented ones. With Rest and Chesto Berry, it can set up somewhat confidently on most of these threats, most of which rely on status or weak attacks, and restore all of its health in a pinch.

The EVs allow Meowstic-F to outrun threats as fast as and slower than Jolly Garchomp, so it can set up Barrier and Calm Mind to soften up as many incoming attacks as possible. Coverage is obviously an issue as Meowstic-F is walled completely by Dark-types, and it can't quite get past some Steel-types. Additionally, there will be times when Meowstic-F will fail to survive and successfully sweep, so in a nutshell, pairing it with a variety of alternative offensive Pokemon will cover weak spots. The worst thing you can do is depend on Meowstic-F for actual reliable sweeping.

[Checks and Counters]

Meowstic-F's main set relies on setting up multiple boosts over time, so it must be dispatched before it has a chance to use Stored Power. Taunt, Whirlwind, Roar, and Trick (with a Choice item) all stop it from boosting too much or sweeping outright. Additionally, even with defensive boosts, Meowstic-F still struggles to take multiple attacks, especially without a reliable method of recovery. Strong Bug-, Dark-, and Ghost-type moves in particular still do a number on it. Ultimately, Meowstic-F's main, and possibly sole, attack of choice is Stored Power, so Dark-types can easily switch in and do whatever they like. In possible cases of coverage moves, Tyranitar can easily switch in, sponge off other attacks, and KO with Crunch.

Anything with higher speed and access to taunt wall you really hard, as does Ferrothorn. Meowstic has something Zam does not, and that's the ability to hit past subs or get a free +2 boost off of Sticky Web or Intimidate. A White Herb pure offense set may be worth thinking about, depending on if Sticky Web gains traction. Also, Defog helps Meowstic get a boost if you switch into it. It's an option that isn't quite so easily subverted as the set you posted.

You've neglected to mention the biggest reason not to use Meowstic-F: Meowstic-M, who has an essentially identical movepool except with Prankster as an ability to provide actual support for your team and triggering species clause against the poor thing.

This is ready for QC (debating on whether or not I should just make it 252 Spe Timid just so it has a chance to set up on Garchomp or not), and implemented most of the above. Ckarasu make sure your points make sense before posting @_@

They do. By making use of White Herb and competitive, Meowstic-F has a boon in the presence of Sticky Web on your side of the field. A free +2 is always nice, as the White Herb will negate that pesky speed drop from Sticky Web, and it has decent coverage options(Thunderbolt, Shadow Ball, Energy Ball, Signal Beam). At that point, you're hitting relatively hard and fast. It still has its problems, but Taunt is not one of them. It also helps that people still run Gyarados, and you may find your opponent being forced to bring it out late game(If you play enough mind games and fool them into thinking you may not have T-bolt/Charge Beam).

The Infiltrator set has other issues, but it is not bait for enemies to set up subs. It's more of a niche, as boosting Meowstic up is not an easy task with its "just" average bulk, and even the fact that it hits through subs does not deter more bulky pokemon from just taking that hit. It's definitely not the most reliable set for it, if you think about it, but it does have some merits...

The defog comment meant that, should your opponent opt to use that move, you could theoretically switch Meowstic into it to get to +2.

Even this set is pretty badly outclassed by Reuniclus which actually has bulk and can use Recover instead of Rest, making it less Phaze prone, though I guess yeah it's slow as balls, unlike Meowstic.

Meowstic-F why you so bad?

-I'd give this thing enough to outpace Garchomp, this also allows it to outpace Kangaskhan, Charizard and other threats which is important. The extra defensive EVs are not worth it as for most Pokemon, you still get hit pretty hard before a Barrier boost.
-Mention Quagsire, ignores boosts etc can inflict with Burn or Toxic.

Implemented the above changes except for Quagsire, who, depending on how many boosts Stored Power has acquired (Unaware doesn't prevent the boosting of Stored Power), can be hit pretty hard after a few boosts, which is easy to set up when used against it.
